I'm just tired of the GTA maps always being surrounded by water. I'd rather have realistic borders like in real life. Of course the game would turn you around if you try to go too far outside the map, but for realism purposes, I think it would be a good thing.

Another solution for a new vice city could be adding in the Bahamas and Cuba. It would make for some incredible drug running missions going not only from one city to another, but going into a completely different country altogether with their own government and military to contend with. Maybe the actions of your character in story mode would lead to an all out war. Maybe you work your way up the ranks in Cuba and then come to America/vice city where you rise to power. I know they already did the scarface thing in vice city the first time around , but this could be more in depth and more like scarface than just a couple nods here and there. Especially if you are a Cuban starting out in Cuba.
Like said, that's how you'd pronounce it in English terms. (it comes atleast close to it. far much more closer than the one in the video demonstrated). When someone doesn't know how to pronounce it, you have to explain it.

How much I may like JC3, it is not in any way more detailed as GTAV. Every inch of Lost-Santos has been hand made every single building , piece of tarmac and traffic sign was designed to be unique and extremely detailed. Just Cause 3's map is huge because much of it was designed through a copy & paste way of filling the terrain up. Even the size is rediculous because it contributes zero to nothing to the gameplay itself.

In GTA SA You had to go through the Country and Mountains to get to the other TWO CITIES Which makes it feel larger. If they added SanFierro and LasVenturas to GTA 5’s map with a bit more country areas, the story would have been better and the multiplayer would have been phenomenal. Two things. One. You should see the AUSTRALIA map mod for arma 3.. That makes the default map look like gta v. BUT. Both those maps are no where near as detailed or dynamic as gta 5's map.
The only thing i fear about with the next GTA is is the Focus of the Online.. being even more present since i heard it was Very profitable for them. and to this day i would have prefered GTA4's multiplayer over GTA5's.
I hope they focus equally the online was fun but I want a single player game more the way they did it in 5 could have been better if the story was longer but the online was perfect

Imagine a new GTA in Vice City where you play back in the 80's again with one protagonist.. then.. when the game is in his 50.. 60% there is a time lapse and you are in modern day.. then you are introduced to two new characters (or one) then the old one (who is still playable) can be sort of a mentor and use the help of his new partners to avenge something or gain money in crazy heists.. then when you finish the game you can change the time in the menu if you want to play in the 80's version of Vice City. Something like that happened in the game Driver Parallel lines and it was epic !
But this is what I said, when you finish the storyline you can change de time in the menu and play back in the 80's when you want, Driver Parallel lines did that and it was amazing, like.. you can take cars in the future, save then in the garage and play with then in the past or save old cars in the garage to play in the future with a veicle that doesnt exist anymore.
gta is just 10 gb larger, but those gb are probably bc the map has higher details and all the campaign features. dont tell me the map on its own isnt a large file

Even if GTAV's map is smaller, I think it's fair to say they packed a lot more detail in that map than any of the larger maps mentioned. The attention to detail in GTAV is incomparable. It's incredible.
The GTA5 map is actually massive. If you grab a jet and start flying towards the ocean it takes 20 minutes to reach the edge of the map. Why did they make the map so huge if the playable area is so small? Maybe they had some much bigger plans for GTA5 but they just couldnt do it?
They Lowered the speeds of pretty much every vehicle to accompany the game's scale. Cars barely reach over 120 mph and jets reach 200. Watch the speed enhancement mods on pc that give vehicles their respected speed the jet would fly from one side to the other in no time at all.

It's pretty good. The map itself doesn't really matter, it's the gameplay that really matters. They probably had to make room for the assets and code for the game. It's who that makes the game decides what's in the game.
Pagan Min, those are different games but he was giving an example of bigger games then GTA V. The reason Rockstar couldn't make GTA V any bigger is because of how detailed the game is. That's also one of the reason why GTA V is so glitchy on last gen consoles and drops in FPS so fast.
It depends on what you compare GTA 5 to if you compare GTA 5 to GTA San Andreas then GTA 5 is bigger but if compared to L.A Noire then it's smaller seriously
Pagan Min 360 will always crush the one in performance and reliability. Xbox one is garbage. I hear the slims break down quickly. I've never had an issue with my 360. The only issue I had was one burnt up do to almost 50k+ hours and being so damn old.
I bought three 360's, the 1st Red Ring, 2nd burned out n #3 is still goin strong n the 360 controller is still in my opinion the best controller design even though Microsoft's controller designer did make a great xbox one controller However, I can't begin to imagine how to redesign on perfection as is the 360 controller but the 360 in general is an amazing console... If you want a really empty map - try LA 'No-Where' as Mr Boss says.. Come to think of it though I like your thinking - LA No-Where! Because there's nothing to do and No-Where to go in the map yea - I know there are a few special cars to find and tourist sights to see, but apart from that, there's only mission locations.
Wario64I Honestly, in my opinion the gameplay sucked ass. They went from GTA IV's realistic route, threw that shit straight out, and went in the direction of a more arcade feel. Especially with the driving. The only thing I can praise is its graphics (and even that isn't good anymore with all the graphics of the new games coming out), and GTA Online, which isn't really anything new, it's just the fact it wasn't the only thing it had. The basic idea for GTA Online had been done before. Not as well though. But, no matter how good it is Rockstar shouldn't be riding on it like a golden ticket. All the "free" DLC are like freemiums (which they did really well on hiding), as you'll find yourself either grinding for hours on end to afford just one item or purchasing a shark card to afford half of it. In my opinion, GTA V is just overrated. I look forward to reading your counterclaim if you had one.

The main thing about GTA V is the amount of detail that went into its map. It's much more densely packed with roads, buildings, and little details that make the world feel more alive. Just Cause 3's map is about the size of a small country, but the attention to detail isn't nearly as much. Cities and towns are fairly spread out, and there's not much detail within them either, at least not when compared to GTA V.
I think the real reason why gta 5's map is smaller than just cause 3 is because gta 5 is just so much more detailed, individual shops with details and banners, npc's and cars. Just cause 3 has a large map with nothing, minus tiny checkpoints with one or two people, in between large or small cities. They are both great games but consoles did not hold gta 5 back that much it was simply different approaches to how an open world should be made.
Los Santos is only 300 square miles smaller than Medici, literally making the map used in this video completely incorrect. It would not be that small compared to the rest of the map, Los Santos is 1/4th the size of Medici, the map made it seem much smaller. I'm talking actual land mass for Los Santos, that's not including the water like Medici since you are required to cross water to get to certain places. Los Santos is not that small, do you know how large 1 square mile is? 2.58999 square kilometers. 100 square miles is 258.99 square kilometers, making Los Santos bigger than Liechtenstein and just barely smaller than Saint Kitts and Nevis. Those are countries, very small ones but Los Santos is bigger than a real country. Granted Liechtenstein is only 160 square kilometers or 61.7763 square miles. So there is some actual real world evidence that Los Santos is not small at all.
That is only due to the game being released on last gen first instead of them waiting another year for this generation of consoles. The maps and graphics of the PS4 and Xbox One are almost on par with most gaming PCs that money can buy. But, consoles did make a great impact on it due to the amount of money required to make the games available for consoles. Most games are already compatible with PC, so that doesn't require extra money. I'm a console person myself, but I do agree that consoles did hold the game back

L.A. Noire wasn't developed by Rockstar North, it was published by Rockstar, neither was Red Dead Redemption, those were developed by Team Bondi and Rockstar San Diego, respectively.

You're incorrect on what held back GTA V's map size, considering the map had already been in heavy development years prior to the decision to release it on old-gen hardware. Also you have to consider Just Cause 2, which was much larger and old-gen as well.

Jake Geddes JC2 just uses a lot of copy paste. Just look at the military bases which have the same layouts 75% of the time. Also the game only has a very limited number of trees.

FozZeV GTA 5 will play excellently on whatever platform you throw at it. Unlike Just Cause 3, where the 3 stands for the frame rate for months after launch.

The reason for such a small map is becouse the gta 5 map is FILLED with stuff, while just couse 3 has a lot of blank space where nothing actually happens.
The culprit for the small map in GTA V was… Xbox 360, back at the date of release, while on PS3 they had the possibility to use Bluray discs for the game, they couldn't do it on Xbox 360, where they even had to "squeeze" the game to the max putting part of the game on an "install once" DVD, (so you also needed an hard drive which Xbox 360 Arcade didn't had out of the box) and another part on the actual game DVD
Very big map isn't good. For example: map in Just Cause 2 is too big. When you riding from 1 point of the map to another to complete the mission I'am starting to feel bored. It's just takes too much time between real action. What's why map needs to be not too big.

i feel you. GTA V is much less packed and dense. In GTA 4 you could spend 2 hours in the same small area and still have a ton of fun while in gta 5 everything is much less interesting. GTA 4 felt more alive and I think that's what makes it seem bigger, because there's more to explore there. Also, GTA 4's map is small, but GTA 5 isn't that big either. Compared to plenty other games it's actually tiny

How much I may like JC3, it is not in any way more detailed as GTAV. Every inch of Lost-Santos has been hand made every single building , piece of tarmac and traffic sign was designed to be unique and extremely detailed. Just Cause 3's map is huge because much of it was designed through a copy & paste way of filling the terrain up. Even the size is rediculous because it contributes zero to nothing to the gameplay itself.

If they added SanFierro and LasVenturas to GTA 5’s map with a bit more country areas, the story would have been better and the multiplayer would have been phenomenal. Two things. One. You should see the AUSTRALIA map mod for arma 3.. That makes the default map look like gta v. BUT. Both those maps are no where near as detailed or dynamic as gta 5's map.

Imagine a new GTA in Vice City where you play back in the 80's again with one protagonist.. then.. when the game is in his 50.. 60% there is a time lapse and you are in modern day.. then you are introduced to two new characters (or one) then the old one (who is still playable) can be sort of a mentor and use the help of his new partners to avenge something or gain money in crazy heists.. then when you finish the game you can change the time in the menu if you want to play in the 80's version of Vice City. Something like that happened in the game Driver Parallel lines and it was epic !
But this is what I said, when you finish the storyline you can change de time in the menu and play back in the 80's when you want, Driver Parallel lines did that and it was amazing, like.. you can take cars in the future, save then in the garage and play with then in the past or save old cars in the garage to play in the future with a veicle that doesnt exist anymore.

Even if GTAV's map is smaller, I think it's fair to say they packed a lot more detail in that map than any of the larger maps mentioned. The attention to detail in GTAV is incomparable. It's incredible.

The GTA5 map is actually massive. If you grab a jet and start flying towards the ocean it takes 20 minutes to reach the edge of the map. Why did they make the map so huge if the playable area is so small? Maybe they had some much bigger plans for GTA5 but they just couldnt do it?
They Lowered the speeds of pretty much every vehicle to accompany the game's scale. Cars barely reach over 120 mph and jets reach 200. Watch the speed enhancement mods on pc that give vehicles their respected speed the jet would fly from one side to the other in no time at all.

Pagan Min 360 will always crush the one in performance and reliability. Xbox one is garbage. I hear the slims break down quickly. I've never had an issue with my 360. The only issue I had was one burnt up do to almost 50k+ hours and being so damn old.
I bought three 360's, the 1st Red Ring, 2nd burned out n #3 is still goin strong n the 360 controller is still in my opinion the best controller design even though Microsoft's controller designer did make a great xbox one controller However, I can't begin to imagine how to redesign on perfection as is the 360 controller but the 360 in general is an amazing console... You can't compare two game maps together. You say GTA V is smaller but in reality it's about as big as Just Cause 3 because of the gameplay.
Wario64I Honestly, in my opinion the gameplay sucked ass. They went from GTA IV's realistic route, threw that shit straight out, and went in the direction of a more arcade feel. Especially with the driving. The only thing I can praise is its graphics (and even that isn't good anymore with all the graphics of the new games coming out), and GTA Online, which isn't really anything new, it's just the fact it wasn't the only thing it had. The basic idea for GTA Online had been done before. Not as well though. But, no matter how good it is Rockstar shouldn't be riding on it like a golden ticket. All the "free" DLC are like freemiums (which they did really well on hiding), as you'll find yourself either grinding for hours on end to afford just one item or purchasing a shark card to afford half of it. In my opinion, GTA V is just overrated. I look forward to reading your counterclaim if you had one.

The main thing about GTA V is the amount of detail that went into its map. It's much more densely packed with roads, buildings, and little details that make the world feel more alive. Just Cause 3's map is about the size of a small country, but the attention to detail isn't nearly as much. Cities and towns are fairly spread out, and there's not much detail within them either, at least not when compared to GTA V.
I think the real reason why gta 5's map is smaller than just cause 3 is because gta 5 is just so much more detailed, individual shops with details and banners, npc's and cars. Just cause 3 has a large map with nothing, minus tiny checkpoints with one or two people, in between large or small cities. They are both great games but consoles did not hold gta 5 back that much it was simply different approaches to how an open world should be made.
Los Santos is only 300 square miles smaller than Medici, literally making the map used in this video completely incorrect. It would not be that small compared to the rest of the map, Los Santos is 1/4th the size of Medici, the map made it seem much smaller. I'm talking actual land mass for Los Santos, that's not including the water like Medici since you are required to cross water to get to certain places. Los Santos is not that small, do you know how large 1 square mile is? 2.58999 square kilometers. 100 square miles is 258.99 square kilometers, making Los Santos bigger than Liechtenstein and just barely smaller than Saint Kitts and Nevis. Those are countries, very small ones but Los Santos is bigger than a real country. Granted Liechtenstein is only 160 square kilometers or 61.7763 square miles. So there is some actual real world evidence that Los Santos is not small at all.

That is only due to the game being released on last gen first instead of them waiting another year for this generation of consoles. The maps and graphics of the PS4 and Xbox One are almost on par with most gaming PCs that money can buy. But, consoles did make a great impact on it due to the amount of money required to make the games available for consoles. Most games are already compatible with PC, so that doesn't require extra money. I'm a console person myself, but I do agree that consoles did hold the game back

You're incorrect on what held back GTA V's map size, considering the map had already been in heavy development years prior to the decision to release it on old-gen hardware. Also you have to consider Just Cause 2, which was much larger and old-gen as well.

Jake Geddes JC2 just uses a lot of copy paste. Just look at the military bases which have the same layouts 75% of the time. Also the game only has a very limited number of trees.

The culprit for the small map in GTA V was… Xbox 360, back at the date of release, while on PS3 they had the possibility to use Bluray discs for the game, they couldn't do it on Xbox 360, where they even had to "squeeze" the game to the max putting part of the game on an "install once" DVD, (so you also needed an hard drive which Xbox 360 Arcade didn't had out of the box) and another part on the actual game DVD
Very big map isn't good. For example: map in Just Cause 2 is too big. When you riding from 1 point of the map to another to complete the mission I'am starting to feel bored. It's just takes too much time between real action. What's why map needs to be not too big.

The difference is that rockstar doesn't add land that will serve no purpose except the mountains but if there was no mountains it would be unreal

altis is bigger 270km squared whereas tanoa is about 100km squared

i feel you. GTA V is much less packed and dense. In GTA 4 you could spend 2 hours in the same small area and still have a ton of fun while in gta 5 everything is much less interesting. GTA 4 felt more alive and I think that's what makes it seem bigger, because there's more to explore there. Also, GTA 4's map is small, but GTA 5 isn't that big either. Compared to plenty other games it's actually tiny
