You just brought back a fucking TON of awesome memories!!! Broken EP is the fucking shit....hands down, no doubt about it. It's Trent at his BRUTAL BEST. Thank you so much for this, Bro.
You Killed IT! Just started learning the main parts, but your video inspired me to go and try to finish the entire song tonight. TR is a God and his music and lyrics saved my life in my early 20's. This is someone who can feel and lyrically paint a picture of EXACTLY what I am and I feel on the inside. The Music's most important thing is how it is composed/constructed as well as mixed with all traditional instruments and then the dark and altered sounds and effects he creates.
Good god, I love your tone. I feel like it's maybe slightly brighter than the album's sound, but it's amazing nonetheless. Also it's a pleasure to watch you play this. It never occurred to me to try playing this with drop-D tuning. That's some great playing!
Victor Echo Nope it was in Drop D. Just tune your thickest E a full step down till it is in D, then you're good to go! Trent had a mixture of guitars ranging from Epiphone to Parker Fly. Robin is currently using his Custom (more like ravaged) Les Paul Studio or Standard and his signature Schecter Guitars. I've seen them use several different guitars to get the tones in different parts of a song. Just buy one humbucking and one single coil, you'll get to do them all! :P
Broken and TDS used a marshal jmp 1 rack preamp and a zoom rack processor for the cab emulation direct into protools. They would process the guitars in the box with an old wave shaping plugin called turbo synth. Pretty hard to duplicate these days. But the core sound is basically Marshall preamp and that cab simulator.
Damn you are a PRO! Super good job! @aenimic Do you like KMFDM? If so can you play any of their songs here on youtube? That's if you like their music and wouldn't mind playing it. The reason being is because I can't seem to find too many KMFDM guitar covers here on youtube.
@aenimic I can't believe you have not shared info on this setup yet? Please the world is waiting for you. What is it going to take for you to let us know? Please.
Incredible, you have not heard such a good cover, even the way you play the song is much like playing live, in what tone you tune the guitar for this song?
Thanks man, really appreciate the reply. I know it’s probably a bit too much to ask but… Could you recommend some lower-budget guitar models to me? I thought I had found Epiphone Les Paul ‘60s (around about half the price of the one you are using) before seeing this video but now I’m not sure anymore… This is exactly the sound I want to achieve.
@@jacksaysdrumandbass if you’re looking to start, you could go for Epiphones or LTDs. They’re the affordable range of Gibson and ESP respectively. But, the most important part is to 1) love what you buy aesthetically 2) it feels good when you’re trying it in the store (if you’re not buying online). To me, most guitars are probably going to be same for beginners so it’s best to get something that you’ll keep thinking about how cool it is and how much you want to keep playing it. After that, you’ll eventually build some knowledge and taste as to where you want to get next (maybe you’ll even stick to one guitar too! Who knows?). Hope this helps! 🧡
Thanks, it did help a lot. There’s really a wide range of products to choose from and I was a bit overwhelmed. To me is more about music and sound than aesthetics..my main issue will be to gradually see myself as a guitarist. I don’t want to live music too much as some sort of “egotrip”… But I get the message. :-) Thanks for giving me advice. 🙏🏻
I’ve noticed that, in my humble opinion, and extreme dissection of guitar sound, there are certain songs that only a Les Paul style guitar is capable of producing. No offense against fender, I think they’re much easier to play and have great tone of their own. Ei: early Motley Crue, John Sykes and this song…
I can't really recall but I remember that I scooped the mids and had just enough gain to have it tight and not too grainy. Uhhh...bet that wasn't that useful. Sorry!
I would listen to that riff (00:48) endlessly.... absolutely one of the best in rock history
I’ve always said this. That riff is possibly the best ever !
Seriously--that is such a sexy and nasty riff! The one at (3:43) in Reptile has the same vibe.
Incredible riff. Has the Zeppelin energy
if you want more of it its also in fight from the inside by queen :))
Thank you. Finally someone gets it
how do you get your distortion tone? pedal or just your amp... : )
Awesome man! You really nailed that epic riff at 0:48

you killed my man. what an awesome guitar tone you got as well...

That's some great playing!
Best quality I've heard so far, awesome job!
Damn you killed this! I was recently listening to this song. And thought it would be great to see this on just guitar. Great video. 👍
What’s the tuning? Awesome playing btw
One of my fav songs to play on guitar. Nice ESP btw that must have costed a small fortune.
Its one thing to play it, its quite another to create it from scratch. Imagine it in your head and then compose!
2:23 - best part
damn bro nice work
Rene Rock Thank you! :)
damn right nailed like nin!
DESTROYING EVERYTHING SPILLING BLOOD IN THE NAME OF THE CHAOS GOD IN DAWN OF WAR 2 AS WE SPEAK RRRRRRAAAWWWWW
Amazing, nailed the riff!
Standard E tuning? Also, does anyone know what kinda pedals or amp settings Trent and/or Robin liked to use with guitar?

Awesome cover man! What ESP is that? it's gorgeous!
Great cover and superb quality :) ! May I ask you what pickups are you using? :p
I'm using Seymour Duncan's 59(neck) and JB(bridge). Thanks!
Hey, man! May I ask which guitar model is that? I’d probably like to start playing and my searches led me here. :)
Hi! It’s an ESP Eclipse. 😊

What is your amp, and pedals used in this video recording?
Trent borrowed from Supernaut ...
Okay, you gotta let us know what your setup is.
Can anyone give me a tab for the bit at 1:40? I'm terrible at working out where what goes where from just watching someone; I need to see a tab. ^^;
There is a thing called Google. Try it
tabs. PLEASE. I can only do so much with just visuals
Google
Dude you have a real ESP! I don't get it. Why can i not find them anywhere? All i can ever find is those shit ltd guitars.
I'm just here for :47
pigs get what pigs deserve cover? is that just a fancy name for youtube guitar cover?
Just a fancy name that brought you here. ;)
Using Neural DSP Nolly for this.
great vid, by the way, thanks!
what the name of the guitar
what settings on amp bro?
I can't really recall but I remember that I scooped the mids and had just enough gain to have it tight and not too grainy. Uhhh...bet that wasn't that useful. Sorry!
Standard d tuning?
No... It's in Drop D
Oh, it's an ESP, not an LTD.
You need to take the sound out of the more videos links. That's annoying.
You should try 1,000,000 by nin
