    Famous Tilly throttle shaft play. That’s a nice saw. I’ve been wanting to find one for myself since building that one to use at SawFest. Excellent saws.

    I plugged the ball/spring governor with a welch plug from a carb kit and used an 070/090 tecmec muffler ($20 to your door). That saw is giving about 50cc outta 99cc in the timber. I’ve got 6 of them (2100,2101xps) in various stages of completion with 3 solid runners. I guess I could let one go IF the price was right 😉

    I bought one new in about 1988, cost $895.00 with tax 24" bar, sold it about 10 years ago with original bar for around $650.00 she still ran like new.

    Sounds like a good "clean up the flashing on the cylinder and piston and a muffler mod" build to me.

    I know you hate the homelite 150 but you gotta build one. Just such a compact 48cc saw. Paint it like a converse sneaker.😂

    I rebuilt one last winter with all oem parts. It took me 10 years to get all the parts 😅. I have a 36 inch. 404 bar on it. It pulls it just fine. I've found bigger bars put enough of a load on big saws that it won't bounce off the governor and go rich. I have the same problem with my 090 and bp655. They have to have big bars.

    Very curious what happens with this saw- I’d love to see a tear down of the governed carb

    Bet straightening out the carb and muffler helps but i wouldnt expect tremendously more out of it stock. I think your power estimate would be pretty close.

    I'd say go for it! Advance the timing, mod the muffler, and eliminate the Governor. See how it acts. Go from there.

    Was the Partner carburetor the same size venturi?

    Hey Joe I got a Jonsered 111s ,it runs but needs a couple small parts oil cap, ect, do you know where Maybe I can find parts for it...?

    • @dynojoemods2764
      @dynojoemods2764  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ebay, or some of the jonsered Facebook has a few groups that are brand specific. Or I would be interested in adding one of those to the collection if you would like to get rid of it.

    Now I’m curious to see what the 285 I was looking at getting from my buddy will do

  • @82f100swb
    @82f100swb 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    That's a pretty lame duck. Is the venturi the same size between the 2100 carb and the Partner carb? All the HS carbs use the same butterflies so it's not immediately obvious. It really doesn't sound like it's hitting the fuel governor hard like the couple of these I have worked on.
    That jungle muffler is easily opened up, behind the deflector is the spark screen, and behind it is a cup with holes that can be removed and everything out back together without it.
    Plugging off the governor makes a pretty large difference in available rpm and you can actually tune the carb. With it you can be super lean to the point of not making power up until it hits the governor, then it hits it and falls on its face with too much fuel.
    I have video of running a stock one buried somewhere on my channel here, and you can hear it hitting the governor and 4 stroking hard when it does, much more pronounced than your saw is doing.

      Venturi were the same size, just dont think it is running correctly

    Have you tested any of the 80 volt brushless chainsaws to see if they achieve their rated torque/horsepower ?

    Can’t stand those governed carbs. I put a 395 carb on mine and it ran soooooo much better.

    She sounds pretty lazy…
    Donny walker had some good 2100 tips on his channel, I’m sure he has dealt with literally thousands of them, I parted ways with my last one around 20yrs ago… was abused by a production faller for years before I got it… he would remove the chain tensioner on his 2100’s and fill up the slot with JB weld to help stop the case from cracking…
    Bad plug wires were also common, the oil lines behind the muffler like to rot off…
    Good luck, can’t wait to see it when it gets tuned up a bit…. You should be able to pull a fair bit on the handle with a 32” buried in softwood.

    Do a 394xp carb, muffler mod, and a timing advance. Wait, why don’t you just port it :)

    Joe i have a 2100 that was highly modded back in the 80s....the carb was missing when i got it ....what would be a good carb to run on it ? It has a expansion chamber a cut head and a ton of port work.I was told it was ran on alcohol.It was built by EC birt which was a guy who built racing kart motors back then as well as he was involved in the development of the old Honda Elsinor dirt bike...,so im really lost when i look at his port work .....i just need a starting place on a good carb other than a stock 2100 carb

    Joe can you do a vidja on the Stihl ms400c vs ms400.1c 67cc vs 62? I have the 67cc would you hang on to the 67cc ? will parts be an issue in the future due to the short run?

    • @dynojoemods2764
      @dynojoemods2764  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Once I come across one I will do a video for sure. I really like the 67cc I dont think parts will be a problem for a long time
