Haha read the paragraph that was selected by Picard. One of the first sentences is "This section deals with the right to confer with the other in the event something screwy happens with the treaty" I don't think the staff producing TNG envisioned such high-definition versions of each episode in the future.

Funny how so serious a moment can be so amusing. That subtle smirk on Picard's face when he was walking towards the viewscreen, that sort of thing you only get out of a great actor that knows what's going through the layers of his character's mind. For Sir Patrick, the moment was doing a take from a script, which in of itself is dry and serious, but he was portraying a character that was experiencing a moment of victory _while_ portraying an air of authority that was dry and serious. For stuff like that, I imagine an actor just discards real life and lives the moment.

All of this simply to get the text along to subparagraph 832 which is quite a ways down the page. You might think that this is incredibly clever stuff. Boy are you wrong.
Rick is infally (typo?) getting a Kei and Yuri reference into the text. You Know. The two cute girls with the big guns. We might also mention Akira, Ranma Nibunnoichi, Urusei Yatsura, Rhea Gall Force, and a few other animated films. The Federation at this point in time seems more tangled up in paperwork than the Iran-Contra Scandal business.
In the text of the Treaty or doesn't anyone think about that eventuality when the bloody document was first drawn up? Never mind it's a rhetorical question anyways. But we just though we'd try to demonstrate out legalistic cleverness. Just one more until the critical one where we talk about consultations and that sort of thing.
We can do search-and-replace. Come to think about it that's what the Shellac want to with the Colony on the Planet. I can't make out most of the text (visual issues), but I can see "search-and-replace" (🤪) in the first clause. Can you put a sample here in the comments, if it's not too much trouble?

@@Ge1Ri4 Here are the first four sentences: "WE CAN DO SEARCH-AND-REPLACE COME TO THINK ABOUT IT. THAT’S WHAT THE SHELLAC [yes, it clearly says "shellac" not "sheliak"] WANT TO DO WITH THE COLONY ON THE PLANET. Am I the only one that truly liked the design of the Sheliak vessel? I wish we had seen more of them.
