Enjoyed this one. You’re going to have a challenging time doing some of the dodgy stations like Spooner Row, so I look forward to that!

Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm hoping to get the tricky little stations done soon!

Nice video and you sure had the weather for it. The new station looks great, and the surrounding area has interest. I'll have to visit Cambridgeshire stations in the next couple of years.

Sarah, you came to Cambridge! I have to go through Cambridge North twice a day, there’s still some interesting stuff there from when it was a Permanent Way depot, if you’d carried on down Moss Bank you’d have found a lovely spot by the Cam.
As I say I go past there twice a day on my way to work, there’s some really interesting little nuggets you’ve missed out.
Without wanting sound like some random weirdo, I’d be more than happy to show you some interesting pieces of Cambridge you’ve missed out.
As a fellow Midlander I’ve found it rather surprising how much of an industrial city Cambridge was.

I would allow twenty minutes to cross the Chisholm Trail bridge and get back to Cambridge North.

    Great video Sarah 👍
I think the signaller must have heard you count to ten
Most annoying thing about public transport in Cambridge is that it's about a mile (or 20 minute walk) from Cambridge railway station to the bus stops in Parkside where many of the main bus routes start and terminate

Brilliant video recently subscribed to you're channel, sounds like the great Eastern mainline could end up busy with the east west rail project!

Brilliant video Sarah, if there's an Amazon locker at Cambridge North named Shrek, then why didn't they paint it green? lol. Also I've done the walk between Cambridge station and Cambridge city center and it's quite a trek lol, if only I knew about the parks along the way when I visited in 2021.

Interesting video, Sarah - cheers 👍 I quite like Cambridge North, the architecture looks sort of preserved post-apocalyptic brutalist... I'm pretty sure that's a thing.

    Excellent video Sarah!
    See my comments elsewhere.
If I write the word P.....N TH-cam deletes the comment for some reason! 👍🙂

Cambridge North is my local station so I adored this video! Thank you so much for making it! You were only about 50 metres away from the bridge. You have actually filmed the bridge from the train, it appears at 1.21 in your video here: th-cam.com/video/J8IAzYu_YNY/w-d-xo.html
The reason Cambridge University wanted the station so far from the city centre was that they were worried that students would go for outings in London which would be a distraction from their studies.

Thanks for pointing out the bridge to me! I did wonder if the reason the university blocked proposals for a central station was like the case of Eton preventing a station at Slough because they were worried boys may head off to London and engage in all sorts of things.
