Seeing Ellie experience love and and loss nearly at the same time is just to much to handle. Riley ❤️

Bella showed off her acting to the max this episode… we saw Pure Joy, Anger, Confusion, Loss and so much more…
Ya, the desperation to save joel was palpable.
I accidentally swallowed a bunch of scrabble tiles...
My next trip to the bathroom could spell disaster

The Mortal Kombat 2 nostalgia trip was great
Ellie missed Riley, she had disappeared 3 weeks ago, which led to her recent additional trouble at school. I got the impression that when she was in school, Riley was usually the one to fight, which is why Bethany thought she could pick on Ellie now, with Riley gone.
Riley left because she was about to turn 17, when she would be assigned to sewer duty, guarding the people shoveling feces. Really glamorous.
Riley came back because she wanted Ellie to at least have a goodbye, but more she wanted Ellie to ask her to stay. She cared for Ellie, the one person she would give up her new found family for.c When Ellie said "don't go" Riley said "ok" If Riley wasn't ready to give up the Fireflies already for Ellie, there would have been more convincing involved to get that agreement.
In the end, Riley had to feel that because she wanted to be with Ellie, or at least to know for sure how Ellie felt, she inadvertently just destroyed the one person she loved the most when Ellie was bitten.
When it's all over, Ellie had to live through seeing Riley turn or turning into an infected. Which also adds to why she was so adamant about not leaving Tess behind.
Everybody Ellie has cared for has left her or died. This time, she can actually try to do something so the one person she feels she has, might survive. The night at the mall is less than a month before Ellie met Joel and Tess. (her bite was 3 weeks old), and now she's been with Joel for about 3 1/2 to 4 months (we did have a 3 month time skip since Kansas City, and the ride from Tommy & Maria's to get to the university.
Riley was laying down a few hints that she had romantic feelings for Ellie early on but it's sweet that she let Ellie be the one to initiate with the kiss. Her smile in response is almost like "What took you so long?"
Between the heartwarming cute moments showcasing Ellie and Riley finally being able to act like kids again for once, if only for a little while...... only to rip it all away again for the seventh time in a row (damn you, show), this never ending River of tragedy that follows Ellie is emblematic of not just the shows central theme but why Ellie continues to fight, to carry on.
It showcases her and Riley on opposite sides of an ideological, real and tribalistic conflict before they lay down their arms and come together to just be close for a little while because they're each others purpose in this moment; a fascinating parallel to the Bill and Frank love story and why it matters greatly when Ellie continues to lose and lose. And now that she does have someone who looks after her, who she can depend on, who matters to them, she’ll be damned if she loses them again.
For Riley’s sake and everyone else who died, Ellie will finish this journey……even if it kills her.
The actress who plays Riley also plays Gia Bennett (Zendaya's sister) in "Euphoria".
She's so adorable. Glad to see her in more stuff.
The bonds of Daryl n Lydia from The Walking Dead reminds alot of Joel n Ellie n is really cool n wholesome btw great reaction video Trixy Blue!
Glad to see this is an immediate-watch show for you. I didn't think I would like this due to just being burned out on the zombie genre, but I'm absolutely loving it.

The moment where cut back to Joel and he’s shivering/his teeth are chattering broke my heart. He’s probably cold because they’re in that freezing basement, and I imagine you can feel cold from loss of blood/a fever from infection…wish Ellie had given Joel her winter hat or an extra blanket. I was thinking, “Can we please bundle Pedro up a little more…he’s chilly!” 😢🥶

When they bring in the kid to test in the first episode, they show a chart on the wall showing how long it takes for the infection to take hold depending on where on the body a person has been bitten. Then later as they show how life is in the QZ, you see a few people with amputated limbs, suggesting it was to stave of the infection.
@@frozenharold Sure, but that’s not cannon. There was a side story in the DLC, but it turned out he wasn’t really bitten. Also, that chart isn’t saying it isn’t already in the blood stream, it only tells how much time it takes to “turn” one. It makes more sense that closer to the brain would wreck one quicker, but it doesn’t tell why. It’s likely that the fungus makes root more quickly the closer to the brain, but as the blood flows first from the veins to the lungs, then to the brain from arteries, well I’m disproving my own hypothesis. 😂Still, if it’s small enough to live in flour, after the bleaching and cooking, it’s got to be good enough in the blood stream. BTW, if in the beginning, temperature fucks with the cortiez, how did they get past the cooking process of cakes and biscuits?😆So, what indeed makes any sense!
I know this dates me/exposes my age but Mortal Kombat 2 is fucking hype and always will be.

Number one favorite episode for the TV show and number one favorite downloadable content the Left behind content the story of Ellie's backstory and who is Riley? ☺️ This was awesome way better than I thought it would be compared to the game version they did this downloadable content justice!

Carousel song "Just Like Heaven" by the Cure (lullaby version). What a fitting song. It is a love story with a tragic ending, and so is the episode. 😭
Oh and the blinking is probably old shitty fluorescent lights. The big change to more modern bulbs and LEDs hasn't happened because of the pandemic in the show. Hell they didn't even get to see Return of the King.

@@frozenharold It's not really suggesting that, they could have lost their limbs for all sorts of reasons. And time for the infection to reach the brain doesn't mean until it does you can just cut off the bit part and survive. Not saying it's impossible, but it's pure speculation.
They probably didn't have anything sharp enough to cut off their infected limbs.
