I've been so ashamed of being Chinese my entire life (and especially during/after the pandemic), but watching you be proud of your roots has inspired me to love this part of my identity. Thank you Linda.
As a kid my best friend was Chinese and going to her house for dinner was seriously one of my fondest memories. Her mum was an INCREDIBLE cook and food was so ingrained into their family’s celebrations. There would be piles of noodles, different rice dishes, homemade dumplings and hot pot night. She put so much love into everything and I got to try so many new dishes that were made by someone I knew very well. I’ve tried to recreate her dishes as an adult but I have a lot of work to do with my cooking skills lol.
chinese-american subscriber here! i remember seeing you eat Chinese food with your family in your what i eat videos from the very beginning of your channel and it's amazing seeing you're whole journey play out. Seeing all of my foods showcased and celebrated here made me so sooo beyond happy!!!! lots of love
This resonates a lot with my Mexican culture. I missed out so much on my mother’s cooking and foodie experiences when I went to my parents’ hometown all for a body that wasn’t meant to be mine in the first place. But where there’s a will, there’s a way. And I’m happy to have found you because I’m on my way to recovery, happiness, adventure and self-love 💛
It's honestly so nice to see Linda eat like EXACTLY what my family made me eat growing up. Seeing her eat Mantou, Shanzha, huazun, shredded potatoes, bings, baozi, dumplings, wonton, tangyuan... is just wow so relatable. It also makes me so thankful to still be eating all those things every single day. Can't believe I once refused those foods just to "lose weight"🥲
Feeling spoiled by you with such a deep and vulnerable video that made me cry from home much I could relate and the revelations I learned, and now we got another upload?!?! Girl 🥺💕
Feeling soooooo warmed by watching your video. As a Chinese in foreign country especially in those unusual time, you are the one who is the best model to teach us how to show the sense of belonging with a biiiiig niiiice and confident smile. you are just amazing. 让我们作为少数身在海也能骄傲的展示归属感,你也是我们的骄傲。Linda RULES!!!
Linda, thanks so much for being one of the only people on youtube that is so open about eating disorders and how our relationship with food can be so tough. I am learning to let go of the guilt that comes with eating and your videos help me so much. Thanks
i agreee its really an inspiration. hey btw megan, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
Oh in Indian culture we have something like shanza too! It’s made of dried mango though. Also insanely delicious and unlike anything I’ve ever come across in North America my entire life. I love seeing your Chinese culture and dishes - would be awesome to have some recipe videos or more time on explaining how to make them (always fun to see you and mother Sun teaching us, although the links are awesome too). 😊 Thank you for sharing. 💕
Linda, you are honestly my idol. I’ve never related to a video like this, especially as a growing Asian in a predominantly non Asian community. During quarantine, I discovered your videos and you being so open with your culture and your family made me realize that I need to prioritize myself more then the others peoples opinions. Thank you so much for this video, and thank you for doing what you are doing!
You eat better food in a week than I do in a month 😭😭 but I love this for you and it definitely motivates me to eat better. Also I’m so In love with the editing in this video!! You’re killing it 👏🏽🧡
As a Chinese foodie who's insecure about her body 24/7, thank you so much for this video Linda!! Cannot explain how much you motivated me to embrace my body and culture. The food looks amazing and your family is so cute! Pls continue making these lovely vlogs♥♥♥
OMG MY Queen. Ily you inspire me every day while I’m going through a rough time with food. 2 videos in one week from Linda = best week in my life. Keep doing what your doing!
im so glad i found you , you feel like that best friend always saying right things when you need to hear. You make me feel so motivated even when i feel like crap . thanks much love and power to you! xoxo
i've been here. i've been eating protein pancakes with you for 2 years. ive been having a very very tough time resulting in losing my hobbies an stop doing things i loved, and now that i can open my computer again and binge watch all your videos i have missed really just means the world to me. you are my safe place.
"I miss you = did you eat " i totally agree with that. My parents calls me everyday while i'm at my doom, they just ask "did you had your food on time" rather than asking how do feel? And just hang up after asking and getting the answer. The fruit bowl in between; while at home busy studying & stressing out for finals. Making hot coffee at night while studing and skipping sleep. I already miss home. Omg i still hesitate to eat all my culture food because eating it feels fatty in my body. I still looking at mirror seeing my belly even after working out early in the mrng for 3years straight while my frds laying on bed watching yt and muching of snacks. But i feels so strong and confident to carry me around after working out, that making me wanting to get up in the mrng and sweat myself.
Your mother is just a true blessing Linda…this food looks FREAKIN amazing… I am kind of SO JEALOUS right now… maybe i can visit you next time you will repeat this CHINESE FOOD WEEK… sending So much love to your mother 🥲🤤😍
idk how to put it but when I saw linda jumping around during the ad, I saw the smile on her face that was really from the bottom of her heart and I just wanted to say that she looked stunning then. I felt the happiness.
It’s beautiful to see how food and family is so connected in Chinese culture, that’s something I never really grew up with but wish I did! Absolutely love all your videos and you are doing an amazing job! 🌞
You don't know how much I'm obsessed with linda sun's video, I binge watch her videos all the time there was day when I only watched her videos and it always makes me feel alive. I love you Linda❤️
I wish Linda could see herself as I see her. She is a beautiful human being, inspiring, sensitive, strong, powerful, intelligent ❤. Your videos help me so much, I could never thank you enough. Love you 💕
Thank you for continuing to show up and highlight being Chinese while working out and staying healthy and fit. I recently started keeping track of what I eat on My Fitness Pal and I thought it might not allow me to have my former sense of freedom with food in general, treats, and Asian cuisine... but I've been pleasantly surprised by how many bar codes from the supermarket in Japan show up in the app, and also how eating fewer calories doesn't have to mean less flavor, or less authentic to who I am as an Taiwanese American. Much love from Japan!
This has to be one of my favorite videos of yours. I loved seeing all the food and hearing you give it such a personal story warmed my heart. Thank you for all the hard work I can tell you put into this. I’m going to go find me some food now lol
i totally agree 💕 hey btw juliana, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
you're such a great daughter , sister, friend and influencer you really helped to acceped my body and to understand that we all deserve hapiness no matter what size we are .. thank you so much for being here for us ♥️
I just came across this video while bing watching all of Linda’s video. I’m a born and raised Chinese who spent 4 years in NYC studying, now in Beijing working, away from my family. And I can relate so so much that food is our love language. This video made me miss my mom 😢
LITR my biggest role model! I'm so glad you did this video celebrating Asian food and culture! Love the editing as usual and I hope you as well as everyone else is doing well!!!
Aww Linda, it's so nice to see you reconnecting to your roots. As a second generation Chinese-Canadian, I've noticed the heightened visibility of our community in AAPI heritage month given the stop asian hate movement gaining momentum last year, and I am so happy that you're becoming a diversity trailblazer! I've also been super into your recipes as I try to constantly replicate them as part of my college meals, but I never have enough time to do so. It seems like you're constantly cooking complex recipes and editing heavy 20-minute videos on top of the heaps of homework that you probably do in Business School -- I don't know how you're managing time. If you're reading this, good luck in your final year of college!
Awww when you said your family members don't really say "I love you" to each other, I definitely felt that. 😅 Most Asian parents are really known for their "tough love" parenting style, and it can be quite traumatic for kids. But upon reaching a certain level of maturity, you'll realize that their love language is just different. More on acts of services rather than words. ❤️ Sending love to Mother and Father Sun ❤️
I am going to be honest, I would literally give EVERYTHING to eat those foods, especially when they are made by mother sun. Linda you can be so proud of your culture (not only because of the food even though that reason would be enough for me haha)
I used to hate being black at a very young age. I went to a predominately white elementary school so I felt as though I should have been born white. I wanted to be like almost every white girl in my class. Now as I've grown up I appreciate being black and enjoying Soul food and the culture/history behind it. I also used to hate my body. When I started hitting puberty and gaining weight I felt insecure because some girls were slim and had the "best" bodies. During the pandemic and being virtual I tried losing weight. Although I yo-yoed a lot. I am now happy to say that I am in high school and loving my body. I still struggle with trying not to restrict food and not sucking in my stomach 24/7 but I am learning and growing. I encourage any one who struggles with this to be yourself and love your body. Your body was designed for you. You can't hate your home!! its how you get around how you live. Your body is special!!
i'm only half chinese but i related so much to this video 😭 I am so happy to understand everything you were referencing, bc it brought back a lot of memories as well LOVE YOU LINDA
I'm so proud of you and how far you've come on your journey. As someone who is going through the same struggles, it is an inspiration to know that it is attainable to be able to overcome it. Watching you eat all the yummy foods, smiling through every bite and enjoying your family, overcame me with a sense of joy. Thank you for what you do, and never stop being so amazing! P.s. I love you too!
The tomato egg stir fry is SO GOOD. Its actually one of the first dishes I learned from my sister in law (She was born in Guangzhou). Its amazing. I'm still asking her cooking questions to this da. I'm so glad that I was able to see this in your video Linda!
I love that I can live vicariously through you with the foods you shared in this video especially. my Chinese side (maternal grandfather) disowned my mom and my maternal grandma's family and kids after my grandfather passed. so unfortunately, I never got a chance to grow up learning the language or my family heritage from my Chinese side. I loved learning all these recipes and experiencing a small semblance of culture through your video. thank you for making content like this and your other videos. I appreciate you so much.
DUDE i felt the exact same way about being Chinese growing up in Canada. And now like 10 years later im finally starting to unlearn all of that and be proud of who i am instead of ashamed.
I'm ethnically Chinese and this was such a joyful sharing, thank you! You got me especially with the part on expressions of love through food in our culture, that is the absolute truth!
I loved this video- I loved the clips of your mom cooking. My mom cooks a lot of Korean food, but it was my grandmother that this video most reminded me of. We lost her this year in January and when I think of all the Korean food I ate growing up, it was hers- every type of imaginable kimchi; dumplings; beef; pork; maki rolls; stews; soups; noodles. Every bite was infused not only with culture, but with love and with my childhood. I resonate with what you said about diet culture teaching us that ethnic foods are "unhealthy" or "bad"-- and now that my grandmother is gone, I regret all the times I didn't cherish the meals she made for me and my family. Thank you for sweetly reminding me of my grandmother.
i totally agree💕 hey btw laura, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
5:10 Polish subcriber here. Only recently I've realized that Polish Christmas food had such a place in my heart. Especially pierogi, they aren't just for Christmas by the way. If I had to describe them, pierogi remind me of Japanese gyoza dumplings, with other filling options: meat, potato & cheese, cabbage, mushrooms, spinach & feta, even sweet varieties. My grandma would always make them when I was at her house, but she isn't strong enough to make a giant batch of them anymore. Making them feels just so nostalgic, reminding me of good old days where there was just me, cartoons and food.
Hey Linda! I just wanted to tell you how wonderful it is that you spend so much time with you family! It made me realize it really isn’t a “shame” to be close with my family and not having a million friends. Thanks for this and also for all the work you put in these fantastic videos!! All this editing can be extremely hard!! Sending you lots of love❤️
Thank you for inspiring me to appreciate my own spanish culture and how I sometimes neglect it to be more “normal” or “american” The way you connect to your mom inspires me and makes me want to do the same
Linda. I don't know if you ever gonna read this but you've inspired me, motivated me and encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone, to do things i love even by myself, to love and accept myself, to realise what i deserve every day of my life, how i abundant grateful and worthy i am, that food is love, happiness, kindness, connection, nourishing and harmless. You made me see the importance of appreciating everything i have and everything that will come but also my body,my mind and soul. Your story you've posted in the previous video touched me and i couldn't be more related to this story if yours. I have gone through the same and even more.. i love you,im proud of you and i cheer for you. Thank you for making me see the light when i was lost, blind and hearrtbroken for 2 years now. I believe in you. You do a Great job. And as im a thin skin person too let people talk... they'll always do. And ask "what's true about me?". You,we know the answer. And we know who we are and our life and our doings and journeys and struggles and progress. Remember that. ❤️✨
Totally with you on that Linda - when I was younger I didn't like the fact that I was from Taiwan, that I'm Asian - kids would make fun of the Chinese food I bring to school, make fun of the smells and that it looked weird. And now - SUPER PROUD to be Asian and loud about it! The dumplings they used to make fun of - well look how popular it is now! :D
Oh my gosh! It would be so so cool if you an mummy sun started a series where you try recipies from around the world for a week!! I'd love to see you do stereotypical british foods! Also Greek and mexican would be amazing ❤️❤️❤️
riight me too😍 hey btw lesa, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
The food that tastes like home for me would be like tomato and eggs, garlic eggplant, stir fry rice cake, noodles, dumplings, and Chinese pancakes. Being away from home because of college really showed me how much I couldn’t cook and how much I really missed sitting together with my family and having meals together. Food is such a communion and family bonding moment that I really began to appreciate more during my time in college. Happy AAPI Heritage Month!!🤩😘
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU. MY LIFE AINT THE SAME AFTER KNOWING YOU! SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SOUL LIKE YOURS DESERVES ALL THE BEST LIFE HAS TO OFFER. THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME HOW TO LOVE MY BODY XX ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
sambar rice (a lentil and vegetable stew served with fluffy white rice) is the food that takes me to home, it's so comforting and nourishing with spice, zest and a slight sweetness-all my family adore it! It's such a shame I've missed out on it for such a long time...
I can see that you food is really well balanced, it's so pleased to see! You made me hungry with all those chinese dishes, your mum is a real Chef! All my compliments to mother Sun =) Enjoy everything dear Linda!
totally agreee😍 hey btw alexandrie, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
Honestly Linda's channel is like my comfort place, a secure place where every damn thought of guilty for food disappear; I thank you so much for that Linda 💖 .......... Right now I can't say that my relationship with food is healthy but you give me hope that one day maybe I'll make it. 💓🐇
I'm italian and making Tortellini with my nonna, cousins, sister and parents is the best during Christmas time! I love cooking for them, and with them❤️ we should all celebrate our beautiful cultures more🥰💕
OMG Linda I lost almost 60 kgs and how my skin is soft and jiggly always makes me uncomfortable so I can't wear what I want but as I person who exercises more than I do same thing happening with you make me feel not so bad about myself. Thank you
Wow your mom's food looks absolutely incredible. When I was in elementary school I used to go over to a friend's house and her mom would make dumplings. Homemade is so good.
I love watching these because we have a similar body type, so when I catch myself hating on my body/what I'm eating I think about you and it makes me so confident. I seriously can't thank you enough for how much you've helped me these past couple of months ❤️
So glad that you addressed beauty standards! I'm half-Japanese and half-white, was born and raised in California, and I currently live in Japan. In California, I never thought too much about my body and whether it fit in with American beauty standards. However, living in Japan has made me look at and judge my body more, because the beauty standards here are still to be pale and skinny. I'm tanned, I have curves from my dad's side of the family, and I stick out like a sore thumb wherever I go. It's difficult to get clothes that fit me here (don't even get me STARTED on finding jeans here with this thic booty, or a bra that actually supports the ladies), and it's taken a lot of time for me to adjust. However, after a lot of struggling, I've finally been able to accept that my body will never fit the beauty standards here (or the pant sizes lol), but it doesn't mean I'm not beautiful. I'm strong and beautiful and am so lucky to have had so many diverse cultural experiences through being biracial!
I love this video, you and your mum cooking together are so cute and the insight into Chinese culture through food is really interesting. Coming from an Italian family I totally get the missing on food= missing on memories and sometimes I still avoid family gathering out of fear of what will be eaten but you inspire me so much in overcoming this irrational thoughts.
Loved this video linda, as an Asian girl i felt like i could relate to you so much, i didn’t want to be Asian, but today i absolutely love it! It makes us who we are, unique,!
My goodness your mother is an amazing cook. I only remember growing up on congee, green bean soup, and some sort of dumplings. I wish my dad was a better cook! I feel I have never truly gotten to experience Chinese cuisine like you have. It looks amazing!
i soo agree💛 hey btw sadhna, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
I love Puerto Rican food because I am Puerto Rican but let me just say Chinese food always looked good. However your mom's FRESHLY cooked food looks like a masterpiece, it feels illegal to just look. Lots of love to Mama Sun.
I honestly couldn’t have overcame my eating disorder without this queen.❤️✨
❤️

The fact that I learned so much more from Linda than from my professor in school. So GRATEFUL to meet this woman in my life✨💞
Thanks
I've been so ashamed of being Chinese my entire life (and especially during/after the pandemic), but watching you be proud of your roots has inspired me to love this part of my identity. Thank you Linda.
you are so pretty and you have a stunning culture girl try not to let the shit people in society affect your relationship with that
? 不理解觉得当中国人丢人的想法。。。
@@jennyzhang3088I guess when it comes to corona a lot of people started hating on Chinese people for "starting corona"
Imagine having a work out meet up with Linda and then a cooking class with Mother Sun
dudee stop ahhhhhhh omg thats literally the perfect day
THE BEST DAY
my dream day:)
A DREAM
As a fellow Chinese woman, I genuinely appreciated this video Linda! Thank you for showing your audience how great Chinese cuisine can be!

My home feels like pancakes with jam, but not the protein, the pancakes full of sugar. My grandma and granpa used to cook it and I loved it 😍🥲

If Linda has a podcast please tell me and if she doesn’t SHE NEEDS TO OMG SHE WOULD BE SO GOOD!♥️
I'm so proud of you and how far you've come on your journey.
I’m a Filipino with Chinese descent, so I really love Chinese food. I wish I have Mother Sun’s cooking everyday 🥹
The effort you put in each of your videos is just immaculate
right it amazes me everytime
This video felt so home-y!! thank you for sharing this special week with us Linda❤️
i totally agree💕 hey btw laura, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️

Polish subcriber here.
Thank you Linda for being so inspiring 🫶. I used to be ashamed of my culture but ur video make me feel so proud of being a Chinese. 💖
Thank you for inspiring me to appreciate my own spanish culture and how I sometimes neglect it to be more “normal” or “american”
The way you connect to your mom inspires me and makes me want to do the same
Although I'm not Linda, I see you
Totally with you on that Linda - when I was younger I didn't like the fact that I was from Taiwan, that I'm Asian - kids would make fun of the Chinese food I bring to school, make fun of the smells and that it looked weird.
Watching you eat.. seeing and hearing you thoroughly enjoy your food .. puts a smile on my face. 🥰
riight me too😍 hey btw lesa, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
The food that tastes like home for me would be like tomato and eggs, garlic eggplant, stir fry rice cake, noodles, dumplings, and Chinese pancakes. Being away from home because of college really showed me how much I couldn’t cook and how much I really missed sitting together with my family and having meals together. Food is such a communion and family bonding moment that I really began to appreciate more during my time in college. Happy AAPI Heritage Month!!🤩😘
when linda said 'i couldnt say i love u back' that BROKE MEEEEEEE
2 VIDEOS A WEEK???!!! i’m speechless…you made my entire week linda ily!
I can see that you food is really well balanced, it's so pleased to see! You made me hungry with all those chinese dishes, your mum is a real Chef! All my compliments to mother Sun =) Enjoy everything dear Linda!
totally agreee😍 hey btw alexandrie, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
Currently in recovery watching Linda sun. It boosts my courage so much!
Honestly Linda's channel is like my comfort place, a secure place where every damn thought of guilty for food disappear; I thank you so much for that Linda 💖 .......... Right now I can't say that my relationship with food is healthy but you give me hope that one day maybe I'll make it. 💓🐇
when I tell u that i binge watch her videos,
I REALLY DO gosh i love her so much😭💗
Dear Linda, this video warms my heart ✨💞 and it made me appreciate the traditional austrian and bohemian dishes my grandmother makes for us :D
i feel you, traditional dishes are truly special💕
I love you too Mother Sun😭😭😭Linda thank you for sharing her❤️❤️And thank you for being genuine
I'm so grateful I found her channel, it's just so comforting I can't explain it
My goodness your mother is an amazing cook. I only remember growing up on congee, green bean soup, and some sort of dumplings. I wish my dad was a better cook! I feel I have never truly gotten to experience Chinese cuisine like you have. It looks amazing!
I can’t explain the happiness Linda brings to me :) her videos are just perfect
i soo agree💛 hey btw sadhna, i recently started my own channel where i talk a lot about well-being, self growth and a healthy lifestyle, if you wanna check it out☺️
Imagine being her friend and coming over her house and mother SUN cooks a feast with all those food.... Ahhhh... HEAVEN
Chinese meals are seriously out of this world!!! The meals looks colorful with those veggies 😍
This girl has helped me so much... she deserves a podcast 👏🏻!!!
THE YAM REMINDED ME OF THE BING AND PROTEIN PANCAKES ERA AND I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN YOU MENTIONED THEM
I love Puerto Rican food because I am Puerto Rican but let me just say Chinese food always looked good. However your mom's FRESHLY cooked food looks like a masterpiece, it feels illegal to just look. Lots of love to Mama Sun.
