It's not a mystery. Ten Hag bought him on the basis of what he did at Vitesse years ago. He genuinely believes that the Eredivisie is the benchmark. He bought Malacia because he impressed against Antony whom he regards as top class when he's closer to Ali Dia than Arjen Robben. Any other big club would have fired him months ago.
Mount has had 12 injuries in the last 6 seasons. That’s 2 injuries per season. So yes, we should have seen it coming.
Not much that was significant tho. If he was injury prone he wouldn't have won chelsea player of the year, multiple years in a row.

I’ll entertain your point about players faking injuries. If that is the case, get them out of the club. Because they’ll do the exact same thing to the next manager. You want players like Martínez in your side who are trying to convince the manager to let them play. Players who fake injuries are downing tools and should be nowhere near the club. That is why so many fans don’t actually think Ten Hag should be fired. Because they are completely fed up with players faking and prolonging “injuries” because they don’t fancy it.
So many of these players have to go. They don’t have any pride in wearing the badge at all.
