“The biggest day in Marine’s 126-year history might also be it's most important.”
The FA Cup throws up dream draws every season - a chance for the small teams to pit themselves against the best. But there has never been a disparity as big as this - Marine AFC of the 8th tier of English football, face Tottenham Hotspur of the Premier League.
A fairytale waiting to happen, of course. But the financial impact of COVID-19 means that this game is far more important to Marine than the result.

Let me guess - you wrote this comment before you watched the whole vid? Exactly because of the game being held behind closed doors, donation campaign was launched to help the Marines. If fans were allowed to come, there'd be no donation campaign and no donat money.

Being from the town in which marine beat in the first qualifier, I now live in Crosby and support Spurs, honestly couldn’t imagine this happening in a million years. Marine are my number 2 side. They are a great little club and Spurs fans can be proud of themselves. I think everyone who supports a Premier League team should adopt a local non league side as their #2.

It does but on a bigger scale, with clubs like Atalanta or dynamo Kiev
Europa League has some pretty shoddy sides from the likes of Gibraltar whom are part time players. Also Birmingham in Championship qualified from group stages in Europa so there have been mismatches

It's actually gutting for Marine FC fans - not only not being able to see their club go on an amazing run, but also not being able to see them play a premier league team up close & personal.

Some of you may have noticed, but Marine have door numbers hung on their outer fencing, so they know who to knock on to retrieve wayward balls! I know this isn't quite the case, but imagine hearing a knock at the door and opening it to Harry Kane asking for the ball back....the quirky magic of the FA Cup truly knows no bounds. Such a shame that several Prem teams openly disrespect it nowadays. It's a sore sight for older fans such as myself who were brought up on it, the final at Wembley used to be by far the biggest fixture in english football. Support your local, support non-league.
To be fair spurs help out lots of small teams barnet fc, leyton orient, hendon fc to name a few
Also Enfield Town when they were drawn at home against Barnsley in the FA Cup years ago...their ground was too small and ill-equipped for such a game so it was played up the road at White Hart Lane and about 30,000 Spurs Fans turned up to support Enfield. Bit of a shock for the ~200 Barnsley fans who'd made the trip down to London 🤣

As someone who lives local, my mum grew up in crosby, nice to see such a small club I’ve knew about for so long get into the third round but not only that but to see them get one of the big 6 premier league clubs. Fingers crossed for a massive giant slaying tomorrow, it would be amazing, shame there are no fans but hopefully the club can grow from this cup run in the future.
Here's me thinking leading Oxford City from VLS in the 7th tier to the FA Cup final against Man City in FM 21 was a mismatch but Tifo proved me wrong

Marine won the CL 4 times in a row, the 5th time they got knocked out in the quarters/semis by .... TOTTENHAM, I remember that that match, Marine kept knocking but the Spurs keeper had a wonder day. It was the very beginning of my manager years in CM back in 1992, what a glorious run it was.
This is just beautiful to behold... A Marine win would be something. After all, it's happened before with United and MK Dons.

Ah.. when I used to play Championship manager 2007, during pre season, I always used to play friendly matches with Marine, Met Police and my teams used to steam roll through them and my players used to get morale boost and some become match fit.
This guy must be an “Unknown Legend” to coach Marine FC to this point. What a “heart of gold”.

As an American, the FA Cup is fascinating to me. It would literally be our equivalent of the Lakers playing an open gym team in a meaningful game. I love it.
Can't beat games like this. my local team made it to the second division couple of years ago Northwich Victoria, we was beating Northampton 2-0 as well and lost 3-2. And in 06 we played Sunderland in the third round getting beat 3 nil. It's days like that you'll never ever forget for a small club
