Oh God...Jordan stressing about connections and Emily forensically reviewing toilets....well..as least we know we arent the only couple who are like that when we travel!!! Gorgeous video and great storytelling..as always!
Love your videos, the way you share your trip is always super interesting and funny, special mention to the toilet review 😁 you inspired us (with my wife) to create a channel like yours for our big journey coming in few months :)) By the way, you're welcome to France if you have opportunity to come back someday 😊
Nong Khai is definitely worth stopping in next time. Supper charming river town with lots of delicious restaurants right on the river, super friendly people, and a cool statue park. We also had great Vietnamese food here.
Your channel is very good. I'm going to Laos tomorrow by bus from Bangkok. And I'll be leaving by train. My question is, do I not need to go through the Friendship Bridge to leave by train? Do I just need to go through immigration at the station?
Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you thought the 1st class cabin would fit two adults and a 10 year old? We would really like to travel by train but would like the security of a private cabin with our son if possible? TIA
Physically it would, but it would be a very tight fit. I’m not sure if there is an option to do it logistically though, they might not let you book it!
Caught us by suprise! We ended up changing some left over muuuuch later but what should have been $40 worth we only got $5 because of the currency restrictions 😞
i have done that journey a few times but not like that. used to spend most of the night having a laugh and couple beers with the staff and police in the buffet car, i must admit i prefer being amongst the locals. that room looked nice and posh but you miss too much paying to get out of Laos now . thats a shame but i hear thailand is bringing back the departure tax again it was 500 or 300 baht before
@@JordanandEmily all thai trains have a buffet car no alcohol allowed any more though at least not the last train i was on a few years ago. its a shame as the police would sit and end up mao mak mak too (very drunk) 😅
@@JordanandEmily where next? i have done train journeys all over thailand, malaysia and vietnam. going to try the new china train to Luang Prabang when i am there in a few weeks time that was not there last time i was there so huge difference to the bus on those crazy roads

Yay! That's so great! Good idea to make a channel, store all the memories for ever! 😊
I am planning a cross border trip (from Bangkok to Vietiane) next year
This video really helpful ❤
That will be a fun ride! 😊 have a good time!

Oh good to know! Thanks for the recommendations, next time we'll stay for a while!
Great video as always!!
Thank Suay! 😊
I want to do an overnight sleeper train so bad in Thailand! I would definitely consider this one! Enjoyed the ride.
Good choice! It's a splurge but I feel like you have to do it once! 😄
There are only four trains a day at the new station, but that is already double of what was there before, and also a lot closer to Vientiane.
Will be great when it's running at full capacity!
Very interesting about the closed currency situation.
We'd never heard about it before but it got us 😄

You do it at the station! ☺️

Hi there! From memory I thought it was 30 for some reason! Could be wrong though!
Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you thought the 1st class cabin would fit two adults and a 10 year old? We would really like to travel by train but would like the security of a private cabin with our son if possible? TIA

I haven’t heard of a closed currency either..good to know.

Hi did you guys buy the tickets directly at Kamsavath station ?
These ones we booked online! 😊
@JordanandEmily Thanks for the info. I'm doing the same as you guys today. 40 minutes between the two trains. Fingers crossed it goes well.

That hose is called "Bum Gun".
Hahaha such a funny name!
How much was the vip sleeper and where did you bought it?
Hey! theres a ticket cost chapter in the video and a link to where we booked in the description!
What is the location of the train station in Vientiane?
It called Kamsavath!
Hi from Vietnamse how much for ticket from Vientiane to Bangkok?
It would be the same price as we mentioned in the video :)
When you cross the river to thai side it’s Nong Khai not Chiang Khong.
Nice!
What about coming back ?
Same in reverse 😊
