I watched this movie with subtitles on. Best decision I ever made. At 3:57 all it said was [Sivana speaking faintly in the distance]. I don't know why, but it cracks me up every time.
What I love about the Shazam movie, and I can't say this enough, is that it's very Golden Age DC, which was all about civics and family and we need that so much.
When Shazam asked them to say his name, they all said "Billy!" It's funny but also very sweet. It proves that no matter if he has super power or not, they will always see him as "Billy", not "Shazam", and love him for who he really is.
The actor that plays hero Freddy, Adam Brody, was supposed to play the Flash in George Miller’s Justice League movie. He would have been better than Ezra Miller.
I appreciate the acknowledgement of the collateral damage, not just of the sins in the carnival, but also of the people below the statue that got blown up, people who weren't being deliberately used as people for the heroes to save, but were still placed in danger as a result of the fight going on *above* them

I'm so glad the Shazam family wasn't ever hinted at in the trailers. I knew the old mythos of Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Jr. but not the others. Made for a great surprise. ⚡️

Same. This movie has a special place in my heart cuz I was going through a rough romantic relationship + it was the first movie I saw with my parents in the cinema after a long time.
Some people hate the fact that the other kids mastered their abilities way quicker than Billy but there is actually a logical explanation for it. When Billy took original Shazam's power, he took the power of an old, frail man who would struggle to use his power properly, hence, Billy struggled too. He had to master the abilities. When Billy shared his power with everyone else, he had mastered the speed and flight etc, so he shared that mastery with them when sharing his powers.

Superman and Batman. This kid was not only doing what ever kid did, but this scene HIGHLIGHTED what the franchise is. In my opinion, they tired to force Shazam into the a little TOO much with this scene. But still so cool.
After watching Eternals I'm just being reminded how in both there's the speedster, the heavy hitter guy, the guy who can shoot energy from their hands, etc.
Consider the fact that the origins of this hero doesn't come from losing a family, or a home, or a planet. He wasn't made or trained to make war. He didn't receive his powers by accident. Billy Batson became a hero when he accepted the possibility that he could be someone that others could believe in. No wonder people are skeptical of how he got his powers. Many people can't see hope even when it bites them on the leg.

I know this has been said before, but I find it so (for lack of a better word) cool that the one who struggles to walk can fly instantly.
