As far as I can see, the AI always speaks the text the same way, without taking into account the tone or nuances of the spoken original? I am of course speaking from language to language translation.
Have you looked in to their Terms of Service regarding the privacy and ownership of your cloned voice? I would be curious to see whether either of these options guarantee your voice will not be used internally for their benefit or incorporated in to their current or future offerings. I’ve looked at one cloning site recently and could not find their terms of service listed anywhere.

I've lost my voice to Cancer so I don't sound the same as "old me" Eleven Labs wouldn't let me use the clone tool or even hear a sample until I gave them access to my medical records! So I'm back where I started, they just said no and the help system was rubbish.

They were one of the pioneers in the field of high-quality AI voices, run by two nice guys from Poland who got a lot of US investment because they were clearly ahead of the curve. But don't sleep on use a nice voice over human like myself or one of my colleagues. The more affordable AI voice providers require a lot of proofing that winds up being a headache.

Speechify - its not that good, many of the voices are poor quality. Prices are crazy you need to get the pro plan 99 a month for voice cloning. speaking from experience.

Yeah I would say it would. You need to agree that you own the rights to be able to create a voice from scratch too so I wouldn’t recommend it at all
