Drawn from psychology and meditation, this exercise guides you through techniques to strengthen your concentration by focusing on your breath. Use this tutorial on its own or with the shorter Concentration Practice exercise.
Concentration is the foundation for both learning and performance. Improving concentration can help with how to perform, how to focus, how to study and how to learn. The exercises in this Playlist draw on years of experience in psychology and meditation to help you strengthen your concentration by focusing on your breath.

Thank you for the video!
Started doing this exercise exactly a month back, & now I have made it my daily routine. I can see transformation in myself & the ability to focus. Thanks for this wonderful material...
Abhishek Kumar what kind of transformation have you seen in a month?
This meditation is incredibly transformational and so so powerful! Everytime I do it, I feel more empowered and I gain a mn incredible sense of CLARITY! Please make more videos like this & upload often. Your voice is so calming, I would definitely subscribe if you had a program!
I've been doing this meditation years back and I forgot about this and now I am glad I came back in 2019...
Hi, Our exercises are based on techniques used in vipassana meditation. Great that you recognized it. The professional psychologist who created the exercises had much success with these techniques with his patients. We hope you liked it.
Profound exercise. I feel that days of frustrations faded away. Downloaded the iPhone application and marked in my calendar to practice twice daily.
I'm grateful for your priceless wonderful effort.
Got a whole lot out of this. I thought it was especially helpful how he said to identify the distractions and simply see them as that and then just focusing on the breath again. Good stuff!
Excercise Order:
Intro: Placing the base breath by focusing on inside of the nose, feeling the air flowing in
Step 1) Focusing the breath by mentally counting for each in breath and out breath up to 10. Then restarting the cycle. 5 minutes is enough for begginners.
Step 2) Focusing the breath by mentally counting for each in and out breath up to 10. We are twicing the breaths up to 10 compared to step 1. 5 minutes is enough for begginners.
Step 3) Focusing the breath by mentally saying "in" for each in breath and "out" for each out breath. 5 minutes is enough for begginners.
Step 4) Focusing the breath itself by saying nothing, focusing only the feelings of in breath and out breath.
During the excersice: Mind will be distructed. Be aware of the distruction and do not chase it. Mentally say "distructed" and countinue to focus the breath.
Thank you!
Nice. I did some breathing exercises on my own a while back, but the techniques and tips in this video are far better than the things I was doing.
This was the best video on meditation i've ever seen....Just amazing....And more important ...very effective...
Right! It is!! So important for self-discipline!
Very good, and to the point. No extra chit-chat.
Appreciate it.
already watched it million times.cant help watching it again and again
The Concentration exercises in Mouni Sadhu's Book, "Concentration" "A guide to mental Mastery" are much better but you have to read every word of his instructions and then be scrupulous about doing everything exactly as Mouni Sadhu says to do. Also, you must have patience. Muni Sadhu says that doing the exercises in his book will actually change your brain for the better. I did these exercises for years and found that there was always the possibility to increase your ability to concentrate. Just to give an example; at one time I could concentrate so focused on the Present, that the past and the future actually disappeared. In that State I experienced complete freedom and Joy. There was no past to feel guilty about and no future to be afraid of.
Are you doing Mouni Sadhu's concentration exercises? If you I would love to hear from you.
+Albert Nygren read abt the book shall do it from morning
I can't understand what you wrote as what is published is only a partial sentence. Thanks for responding to my question.
+n jones A person doing Concentration e4xercises may develop psychic abilities but they are to be ignored and not used. They are a "distraction" of the mind.
Albert Nygren
An excellent simple exercise that really makes a difference. Many thanks.
Thanks for uploading this exercise.... this is so soothing and relaxing, refreshing.
This is an excellent explanation of concentration practices--very powerful.
It felt very comfortable, relaxing. ❤️❤️❤️💚💚💚
Thank you so muh. This was my first attempt at meditation. I feel very different now.
I feel so relaxed. Almost hypnotized. There a reason that when I get into a deep state of meditation I see a really fast flashing light?
This method of counting breaths is still practiced today in the Japanese Zen tradition. Its very effective.
really good video. I've watched other video and they weren't nearly as effective as your 4 step method. i actually got better. thanks breeeh

So Claim and peaceful my mind feels like it has been released from stress and pressure.

THANKU..IS THERE A LONGER MORE ADVANCED VERSION?
I really enjoy your video but it seems that there is hardly any difference between one video and the other. Would you be willing to add some more variety to your series?
this works for me.. always.. :)
Thanks. I believe it will help me :-)
R u an energy/spiritual healer?
How is this different from Vipassana? Can someone explain?
cool ! really
How can I find the music from this video?
Maybe you felt anxious or depressed for some time without noticing. Even though this is an exercise to boost your concentration, it forces you to be in the present, feel your body and get in touch with your feelings. Maybe our anxiety or our depression exercises can give you some relief. Otherwise you should contact a professional. We wish you all the best!
I TRIED THIS FOR 3 YEARS AND IT DIDN'T WORK REAL WELL, THEN I FOUND OUT WHY. THE DOCTOR LOOKED IN MY EAR AND SAW LIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE, HE SAID , NOT MUCH IN THERE.
should we close our eyes
Bet that coffee's cold by now.
Your mind just wondered. Concentrate Mike!
good
It said practice versions in each stage are available. Where do I find these?
I am trying to practise this as often as I can but, I feel headache..
Please help.
Of course my device was turned on to hear you.
Can we have the android link for this??
Is it normal to experience some closed eye visuals while doing this exercise? It's kinda creeping me out. I get some visuals, sometimes I see faces, get startled and get a rush of anxiety that ruins the exercise a bit. I can still focus on my breathing but each second it gets more intense and harder to focus on the exercise. Some days I couldn't sleep at night because of these sights :/
The exercises shouldn't be causing anxiety, so I suggest you stop using them. You may also want to talk about your experiences with a professional meditation or psychology specialist. Thanks for your feedback.
+HBangerHS It is certainly normal to have visuals prior to falling asleep or at the level of what some refer to as "day dreaming". For me they tend to increase and become more vivid if I concentrate deliberately on them. It's not just faces though, it can be anything or quite abstract, but there should be no rush of anxiety unless it's just that you are surprised that it happens in the first place. Having visuals while being unable to sleep does not necessarily mean the images are what keeps you awake. If you are stressed that'll do it and you could just be having normal visuals on top of that. Google "hypnagogic image" or "hypnogogic state" for more info on normal range visuals.
whynottalklikeapirat That's a very good reply, even after almost 2 years. It had been a really stressful time when I commented on this. The visuals were new to me but now I'm pretty much used to the hypnagogic imagery when meditating, and I see them as a good sign prior to sleep because I usually fall asleep soon after they come. Anyway, thanks for the reply!
HBangerHS
Haha thanks - I knew it was a long shot but I was actually wondering where you'd be with it today, so thanks for replying. Happy to hear you moved on ;D
+HBangerHS Visual images are thoughts. Again, the key is to be relaxed and "not interested in the images or any thoughts. This is the meaning of the Buddhist saying. "If you see the Buddha on the road Kill him. No thought or image is important. Relax and let them go. If you fight them that is giving them interest. Be not interested in any thoughts. The only thing that interests you is doing the exercise. Success or not is not of interest during the exercise. If a thousand thoughts come So what? I am not interested. I am only interested in doing the exercise in the present moment. All of this is normal, relax. If it takes 2 years to achieve 10 minutes of pure concentration, so what. I am not interested. Al
guys im studying 12 grade i cant concentrate...when i done once it last for hours...but attaining it is difficult ....and i get tensed when portions r vast... and because of that i cant even study a word....CAN U HELP ME??
Ahhh yes, concentrate over a stimulating cup of coffee. :)
Why did this come up from a search for mouni sadhu?
💜
I'm scrolling down the comments to see if someone slept! Am I the only one!!
You probably are very exhausted. Before improving your concentration, you might want to use our Breathing Meditation exercise to recharge your batteries.
This shit is awesome
and we must concentrate on our spelling
the last time i tried this 2 months ago i fell asleep. lets see what happens this time...
+vanessa mtakula Are you sitting in the proper meditation posture. You want to be relaxed but aware. If you fall asleep when doing the exercise. Are you getting enough sleep at night? If this only happens rarely it is not a problem. enjoy the sleep. Al
Thanks for sharing
halfway through i thought i was gonna faint i got so disturbed and i had to open my eyes..y??
I kept falling asleep :( ...didn't notice when I was distracted!
Woow
My nose is blocked :|
So basically I just took a nap
Wow, 18 minutes passed by...
also suggest this video th-cam.com/video/VoM30IhVxok/w-d-xo.html
Good video but far to much talking as he explains why concentration is good for you. I simply want to do the exercises and don't need to hear someone providing background information as to the importance of concentration. That drove me crazy as I just started to meditate and those irritating explanations started AGAIN!
The whole point is he's telling you what to do IN FULL so you can confidently practise on your own. You're telling me you've only done this once and that's it or you use this video every time you do it?!
Lucas I have meditated in the past and could sit for 2 hours concentrating only on my breath. I don't the need the BASICS on how to mediate but simply the music and someone keeping me focused on my breath. I don't need to know that meditation leads to higher states of concentration and less forms of addiction. I already knew that and that is information is not needed for a meditation video.
+Gail Ramoska Turn it off and be in silence when you concentrate. It is much better that way. Al
Unfortunately i find this a little too patronising and slow. Although the exercises are good, theres far too much explanation in areas in my opinion. Also about 8.5 mins in there is what sounds like someones stomach grumbling, kinda gross.
Awesome video ...helped a lot ...keep up the good work :D
thanks
