    Hey Aaron, just a little heads up for you and others who reads my comment:
    Elvis asked Jerry Reed to teach his guys to play the way he did (Jerry) and J.R.
    said to Elvis;; There's not way I can do that son because They are all straight pickers,,
    ,, I play with my fingers,,, ALL of them Elvis !!
    Elvis said;; Well hell man you play it on my recording then.
    J.R. ,, Well hell man show me the bank,, in other words ,, Where's the cash and i'm not talking about Johnny,,,
    J.R. straight picking is ok son,, but you can't tell the whole story doing it that way, you've got to use your fingers.
    Just a little story from an OLD MAN that was there, and I do mean really old.
    from Mr Briggs51,, I wish that was my age. haha

    This tutorial is soooo frustrating! It's obvious you know what your doing but your hard to follow. Your string reference changes "0, 4, nothing, 3".... at first "0" is the low E and then you're talking about the high E. I can't see what your fingers are doing... argh.... i wish marty covered this!

    Great job and i like how your right hand hits the right notes in a sort of strum instead of muting. Did that come fairly natural? Seems like it would be tough to learn. Big paws always good for playing those 4 fret stretches too!!! Real good job!!

  • @bigjim9556
    @bigjim9556 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    ..hey...thank you so-much, brother..it does have some-complexity...parta' its beauty, I guess-- but you have skills & smoothness-- and I appreciate you explaining & sharing with all of us..for breaking-it-down, in-parts, then "rollin' back-through-it", so we can hear & feel-the-flow...very nice...thank-you, Aaron !

    This song is not by Eric Clapton as the title of this upload suggests.. it was written by three men.. none of which are Eric Clapton... played on the record by yet some other men.. again not Eric Clapton.. then Eric overdubbed a solo on it and sang the written melody. Its a fine song though.

    One of my favorites from Master Eric. Young man, you have a talent and a gift for teaching. This is probably the best teaching video I've seen yet. Your taste in instruments is also top notch! I play a Tak just like the one used in your video. Beautiful sound. Thank you...!

    an A major with out the middle note is an A7

    • @caseyspaos448
      @caseyspaos448 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. A7 has the 7th degree. This is an A without the 3rd.

    • @Anton680x
      @Anton680x 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caseyspaos448 Nope. The A7 chord played in this song has a C# which is the 3rd note from root A.
      Ryan 1995 could be right or wrong depending on how you interpret "middle note".. I assume he means taking the octave A on the G string down to a G note which is the 7th note now making the chord an A7 from A major.

    If you do a bar chord G#
    You lift the pinky finger to go from 466566 to 464566. That would make a G# major 7th chord (G#7). Seventh chords are very easy to learn and you can apply them in a lot of songs. Go check out some lessons about major and minor 7th chords! :)

    I think if you sign up and send him a request. He does after all answer our requests. Plus, he has so much theory to show us, I don't see why you want to learn and play the song if you don't know what it is, or what chords you're playing. They do different lessons.

  • @charliegriffin9908
    @charliegriffin9908 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    You've left out Eric's INTRO, and the chords are not the same. (Listen to the bass note).
    They are: | E / F#m7 / | G6 / / / | then back, played twice and ending on a Bsus4, before the verse begins, holding down only 5th, 4th and 3rd strings, withe rest open (don't play 6th string).
    Also, it sounds like you said B#m7b5, probably bad replay. It is, of course, a D#m7b5, which is also known as a half diminished 7 (D#ø7) - exactly the same notes as D#m7b5.
    D#dim is the leading note chord in E, i.e. built in 3rds on the 7th note of the scale, using only notes from the E maj scale (D# F# A), in this case with a 7th added (D# F# A C#)....I hope!!
    Interval structure:
    D# F# (minor 3rd) F# A (minor 3rd) A C# (major 3rd)
    The E major scale (E has 4 sharps in key signature):
    E F# G# A B C# D# (E)
    I love this stuff!

  • @fernando47okc

    With a second accoustic playing, as you walk up the neck have the 2nd guitar play a more of a bass line with a power A (second fret bar) using your 3rd finger to hit the D string 3rd and 4th frets and on the E chord use the base root chord with a pinky hitting the A string 3rd and 4th frets, a basic rock and roll thing but chopping the rythym out with down and up strokes and some of your right wrist dulling the strings out on those chops. I play this along with the CD and the mix imho is good together :).
