Both have almost similar specs, in terms of camera, the Xperia 1 ii has better focus due to the 0.3mp depth sensor. In terms of battery, Xperia 1 ii has wireless charging, rest are same.
Both are great devices, but Samsung s20 Fe would be a better option for some reasons. It has bigger battery, has better camera post processing, better screen, will have more updates, and maybe more. In terms of Sony, if you want many professional camera features, 4k display, and near stock Android experience, you can go for it. (From ovantica you may get a Japanese model) It really depends on your personal usage, how you want your device to be.
This device has a brilliant camera setup, but the stock camera may disappoint most people. Using the pro modes of this device you can get better output. I cannot give an opinion by comparing it to other devices because I haven't used other. But looking at many reviews, this is not upto the mark. For devices like these you will always get mixed reactions, this device will attract most photography enthusiasts who love to play with the camera settings and also use the Raw output later in editing. Other devices have better post processing in the camera which enhances the picture quality.

Mera personal experience share karta hu, Sony Xperia 1 ii liya maine wo bhi used phone, to thode downsides honge yeh pata tha, but utna kuch noticable tha hi nahi, battery backup mere liye thik hai, brightness is not that great but ok for me, updates ke liye bhi not that much concerned kyuki isme near stock experience hai aur koi bugs wagehra bhi face nahi huye, and volte ka bhi utna issue nahi kyuki kisi se baat karni hi nahi hoti😅. Personally koi regret nahi. And agar koi aur phone lene ki baat hai to usme personal preference bhi aa jata hai. You will have to watch more reviews of other phones too and then make a decision.
