    I’ve been doing this for months. It keeps my locs so moisturized. They are so soft.

    Glycerine and Rose water toner was my recent accidental discovery for dry scalp. Bought it at a cosmetic store in my country and sprayed it directly to my scalp. I felt too lazy to add any oil for that week. My normally itchy and flaky scalp didn’t flake that entire week. So that’s what works for me.
    I spray my locs too then seal with a peppermint hair oil but I don’t put the oil on my scalp anymore. My scalp seems to dislike oil.

      My scalp is the same as yours. When I apply oil it itches and I get sticky flaky dandruff. I use a product called Living Proof dry scalp treatment and it is glycerin and water based. It works wonders on my scalp! But it's expensive so I will definitely try your method!

      @@lovebug6390 gosh I hate that. I also put DM80 Sulphur Treat once every two months if I notice more itching and flaking. Forgot to mention that in my original comment.

    If you find the mixture too sticky, reduce the amount of glycerin added. I’ve made this mistake a few too many times. When the mix is right it does wonders for the hair. I also add a few drops of peppermint oil and sometimes distilled water x

    Hi, if you find the glycerin is too sticky you can also use vitamin E oil as well. I use the vit e capsule's. I burst a few in the rose water give it a good shake and that's it my rass feels great and moisturized. Oh and my rass is colour damaged as well.

    I use that brand I rose water. I fill be 360 spray bottle half way with distilled water, the next with half aloe Vera juice, and top it off with the rose water. I do not put oil in my bottle. I then seal my hair with almond oil. I’m not having any issues with keeping moisture in dyed Locs.

    Try rose water and vitamin e oil, half and half. And maybe instead of your conditioner, a hot oil treatment might be better for your hair. Just a recommendation, doesn't hurt to try something else if your current routine isn't pulling through.

    When is the best time to moisturize for it to be beneficial? Can I do it at night before so out on my bonnet or would it best in the morning and let it air dry on the way to work?

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious; why is this rose water clear compared to the homemade method that bleeds the roses of their colour into the water? Are the companies that bottle this stuff giving us real rose water or is it some synthetic substitute?
    Genuine question, that. Because I just bought some from Sally's (Tgin) and it's clear as water and smells like perfume but it does indeed leave that sticky sensation you describe.

    So injury tried rose water with glycerin for the first time last night. I can honestly say I already feel a difference in my locs. But! The Rose smell.os so strong that I now have a headache. Is there anything that I can do about that? I love how my locs feel, but don't really like the smell and headache.

    Girl, I hear you! I colored my long locs red back in 2017 and I'm STILL losing ends. SMDH I dyed them back to black a year ago, and I'm nursing them back to health but I'd say I lost about 2 years of growth because of the breakage. Never again. I learned my lesson!

  • @luvlocs06
    @luvlocs06 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I'm in the minority. I can't use rosewater (or anything) on my scalp so I'd have to put the rosewater in my hands to make sure it applies only to my locs. But I don't because I think it stinks! I really do think it smells like old socks!🤣🤣
    But seriously, watch that mixture in the winter. Glycerin is a humectant that draws moisture to your hair. If it's cold and dry out, instead of drawing moisture from the air to your locs, it can draw moisture from your locs and make them dry and crunchy.
