To be honest if game the was fully completed and it wasn't rushed, General Leang would've been a Chinese Boss General that she has the power of Shin Fai's Infantry divisions, Tao's Nuclear Weapons and Kwai's Tank Divisions. This mean she'll be able to build, Redguards, Minigunners, Nuke Battlemasters, Assault Troop Transports, Emperor Tanks etc....
Zero Hour's main disappointment, in my opinion, is the "undercooked" state which it was released in, and Leang reflects that. Based on what I heard from the grapevine (so take it with a grain of salt), Leang was actually one of three "final boss" generals, one for each faction. The US supreme commander was rumored to be named "Ironside", while Mohmar Deathstrike (who made a cameo in the GLA campaign) would have been the GLA's overall commander. All three are believed to deploy the best of the subfactions, but I guess since only Leang was the closest to completion, they rolled all the best weapons into her arsenal and have her as the final boss. That being said, had Leang been completed, she would still be a nightmare to face. I mean, as the supreme commander, she can pick and choose the best of the best from the arsenals of Kwai, Shin Fai, and Tao. Imagine Emperor Overlords (Kwai) rolling into your base backed by Assault Crawlers (Shin Fai), while Helixes prepare to drop nuke bombs (Tao) upon orders.
The reason why this was because when scripting the AI for campaigns, the AI needs access to the Commandsets of their stuff to properly work. Generals Zero Hour only typically has 14 commands per commandset(some mods change this to 18.) They ran out of slots in the commandset and didn't bother giving it the GLA Worker fake-structure thing to swap between 2 commandsets since it's not exactly feasible with produced dozers due to having to constantly check if the dozers have one commandset over the other. The solution was just to put all of the tech center upgrades in their respective superweapons since those buildings have plenty of open slots.
On the other hand, the existence of GLA generals in the main campaigns mean that logically there should be no way for them to appear in Generals Challenge, considering that Dr. Thrax is defeated in the US campaign and Prince Kassad is defeated in the GLA campaign. Both of them should’ve been dead or captured already. Only General Juhziz (Demolitions General) remains at large. Other generals might not have appeared in the main campaigns themselves, but we can always assume that they played their parts during the war somewhere else.
I always figured that the non-chinese tech was meant to be Chinese copies of the tech. It's also possible the US tech was obtained through a Lend/Lease deal.
Canonically, US and China did team up to defeat the GLA, and Leang is the assigned leader of both faction, hence why she has access to both USA and China tech. Granger even leased his King Raptors to her. She has access to GLA tech in order to experiment on them and study their tactics for future assaults against the GLA.
There's really nothing else to cover. Plus he said in another comment here somewhere that he was going back to Tiberium content since he has been neglecting it for a while
Since the game had plans for boss generals for each side, anybody wonder what the bases for Ironside and Deathstrike would have looked like? I imagine Leang would swap a few things, like trading in Rangers for Minigunners. I know bosses weren't designed to balanced but I still wish they were playable offline or if both players allowed it.
Try Contra's Challenge, it's close you can get. Not only you can get to Challenge 3 boss generals of each faction, 3 more generals to challenge them is also added.
There's mods that make her playable. Mods like Contra and Shockwave alter her tech tree so if you want the version of Leang in the base game those aren't it
I'm playing Shockwave, and the 3 "boss" generals are playable as they should have been, but are not as overpowered, more like balanced for PvP.. Leang has some spectacular artillery, cool planes and weird flame tanks, Ironside (USA) is all about tank technology and Deathstrike (GLA) has a bit of everything and feels a lot like a boss as well
Another fantastic video you should make some non C&C videos. I don't think anyone would be mad to see new content and that content would surely get more views. Growing channels with niche topics then expanding out works extremely well. If you get lucky with the algorithm you could grow extremely fast or stagnate you never know with the algorithm it almost seems random.
I have a couple of ideas for non C&C videos. Though they also involve older games, which might make my channel more of a "nostalgia" gaming channel. I don't really want it to be that, though there aren't really any games releasing this year that I'm too interested in covering. But yeah, I do think it would be good to have a non C&C series to go alongside the C&C videos. Having all your eggs in one basket isn't a good idea on TH-cam. Especially after what happened with a lot of WH40k channels with that whole NDA controversy several months back. If a company like EA were to do something similar, then that would definitely stunt the channel's growth.

Interestingly enough, Zero Hour initially was going to have three boss Generals, according to the PRO:Gen mod where it incorporates cut content for C&C Generals and C&C Generals Zero Hour with some alterations. Ironside for the USA, Deathstrike for the GLA and Leang obviously for China. And each of them would've have weapons from the other three Generals of each faction. For example, Ironside would've had weapons from the default USA, Granger, Townes, and Alexander. The same with Deathstrike for the GLA and Leang for China. And they were all playable in challenge mode and in skirmish. Instead obviously due to time, deadlines and maybe limitations for the game's development. What got was General Leang being a Chinese General with weapons from all three factions. And Leang is not playable in skirmish or the challenge mode. You have to make a world builder mission to play as her, or mod her in.
That honestly reminds me of my favorite thing to do in C&C games, capturing enemy bases and building up as much as I could of their structures and making an impregnable stronghold.
General "Hold me mommy" Stone Cold Fox Tigress Leang. Loses its gravitas when you don't say the whole name, just like A Pimp Named Slick Back, or the Artist formerly known as Prince.
The best thing you can do to mitigate the impact of super weapons (and this applies to any c&c game) is to spread out critical structures. Don't have your factory airport and barracks clumped together for example. Also move your units somewhere as soon as the alert goes out in case your army was the target.
Using Tigress reminds me of playing C&C using captured buildings to produce all MCV's to have the Mobile Construction Vehicles of every faction on the field... only with none of the grinding needed to do that. She just has the world's best options available by default.
I like the idea of her being the final boss with so many resources at her disposal. It's like you're not just facing a branch of a country's army anymore but the full combined might of a superpower who has declared total war on you and uses any means necessary to take you down. It's fitting that it's a member of the UN security council and I could imagine USA, UK, France and Russia pulling something like this too of they felt threatened enough.
I'm not sure if you'll do this but if you could do the two Shockwave/cut generals of Ironside for the USA and Deathstrike for the GLA. They have such wild differences compared to the Zero Hour counterparts and it would be nice to see videos on them since you did this one on Leang.
You should definitely work with the modders for Generals Zero Hour: Shockwave. Each general's army and arsenal are more catered toward their superpowers, e.g., Leang has her own unique "Nuclear Missile". I'm aware that there's no specific lore tied in to creating them all, but you could perhaps do a game theory-esque take on it or something...
The channel doesn't do anything that was cut, modded or otherwise non-canon. Those two have practically no info beyond a name and what their tech might have been

They ran out of slots in the commandset and didn't bother giving it the GLA Worker fake-structure thing to swap between 2 commandsets since it's not exactly feasible with produced dozers due to having to constantly check if the dozers have one commandset over the other.
The solution was just to put all of the tech center upgrades in their respective superweapons since those buildings have plenty of open slots.
Hears recommended strategy.
*Inhales a smoke.*
All I hear is Overlords, or King Raptors.
The fact that only the GLA generals appear in the campaign always made the other generals feel non-canon to the storyline.
AMAZING LORE VIDEO
Thanks for reminding me of good childhood memories with c&c
I always figured that the non-chinese tech was meant to be Chinese copies of the tech. It's also possible the US tech was obtained through a Lend/Lease deal.
Canonically, US and China did team up to defeat the GLA, and Leang is the assigned leader of both faction, hence why she has access to both USA and China tech. Granger even leased his King Raptors to her.
She has access to GLA tech in order to experiment on them and study their tactics for future assaults against the GLA.

Still one of the best RTS games for PC. Especially with mods like Shockwave and Rise of the Reds.
Hey @Jethild! I really love your work! Will you continue with more C&C Generals videos?
There's really nothing else to cover. Plus he said in another comment here somewhere that he was going back to Tiberium content since he has been neglecting it for a while
@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 Ik, I just hope he finds something.
Finally!
My boomer dad's favorite faction in all of Generals
Leang has some spectacular artillery, cool planes and weird flame tanks, Ironside (USA) is all about tank technology and Deathstrike (GLA) has a bit of everything and feels a lot like a boss as well
"By defeating Leang, you would prove the best among the 3 factions"
Deathstrike and Ironside: lol
Who aren't canon
@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 deathstrike exists in generals. ironside...is in limbo.
@@highlordlaughterofcanada8685 iirc deathstrike is the guy you escort in the first gla mission soooo yeah

Yeah I can always use more command to conquer lore videos
If a company like EA were to do something similar, then that would definitely stunt the channel's growth.
so happy that this game still gets recognized, thanks to you man, you're awesome!
I always liked seeing you uploading some lore cnc generals or other mods
Nice and well-detailed as always. Would you consider making one about the Gla assault generals " Mahmud al Huchum "

Who gave her the authority to acquire not only American but also GLA tech?
United Nations Security Council? On which both PRC and US are permanent members and main contributors to war on GLA? And GLA forces under her command likely represent "allied" middle eastern and central asian states like Uzbekistan or Iran.
Probably scavenged from defeated former generals.
If I had to guess, her tech is Chinese copies of the tech but due to time limitations they couldn't make new models for the stuff
GLA stuff is stuff eh captured USA was providing her tech since she was on good terms both china and the US are defacto allies in this world
The American tech might have been acquired through a Lend/Lease deal too
Interestingly enough, Zero Hour initially was going to have three boss Generals, according to the PRO:Gen mod where it incorporates cut content for C&C Generals and C&C Generals Zero Hour with some alterations.
It is such a pleasant surprise to see that the ZH videos continue. My soul celebrates! :)
This is what we’ve been waiting for!
Ahh There she is General Leang of the China people!
That honestly reminds me of my favorite thing to do in C&C games, capturing enemy bases and building up as much as I could of their structures and making an impregnable stronghold.
General Leng should return in the next general game if EA grants us with a new game but as story character
Stuck at a desk, working OT, and I get this notification... sometimes karma uses FedEx yall!
Jethild I am shock with your videos Kane hasn't reply you do the great job for command and conquer lore and history the best
I’m no simp.* general leang joins chat* at ur service my queen.😊
In your previous video i pointed ou there is a fourth chinese general.
LETSGO
He said back in his Chinese Generals video he was saving Leang for last
6:44 I assume autocorrect is responsible for changing "napalm" to "nepal"?
I think so too.
Love your videos!
Yes Mistress Leang....I shall admit my weakness!
I'm not sure if you'll do this but if you could do the two Shockwave/cut generals of Ironside for the USA and Deathstrike for the GLA. They have such wild differences compared to the Zero Hour counterparts and it would be nice to see videos on them since you did this one on Leang.
I remember modding this general to be playable in Zero Hour, I had no idea why the neutron shell was given to her.
Now, we need you to do The Rise of the Reds~
The Chinese-Tibet border? I think you mean the Chinese-Chinese border (This message has been endorsed by the Chinese government)

Avengers Theat: might of China falls upon you.
I recently played through General's Challenge as Infantry General and, honestly, Leang was probably one of the easier generals.
can you also do a vidao on generl Ironside of the USA and general deathstrick fromthe GLA ? pleass
Hey there for that question, there won't be any because they were not on the challenge missions but the cut content is still on the ZH files.
The channel doesn't do anything that was cut, modded or otherwise non-canon. Those two have practically no info beyond a name and what their tech might have been
She's the predecessor of Future Tech
FutureTech, established in the 1970s in the Red Alert timeline altered by Anatoliy Cherdenko (by eliminating Einstein via Zelinsky's time machine).
In case you know that Dragon General Leang was born in the regular timeline (unaffected by Einstein's tampering) by which FutureTech never exists.
6:16 "only an RPG trooper could replace the Terrorist on the motorcycle..." You mean to tell us that Leang's Jarmen Kell did not recieve his motorbike licence?

Her outfits is blue same as nuke general. The others are kakhi/brown that mean she is higher level and strong as old cap. Maybe above her is only the premier.
shes a AAAA general. if "A" corresponds to stars, then this would make her some kind of a "grand general of the army" in charge of all chinese forces, below only the central military commission itself, and such a general would 100% have a seat in that small commission second only to the party chairman of the chinese communist party. Technically speaking, such a position have been abolished decades ago, but hey, we're in an alt timeline in the game.
you should do the same layour as these videos for RA3
Great video! She was really cool ^_^
Correction: Research upgrades are from Strategy Center, Propaganda Center, and Black Market not 3 Super Weapons.
GLA Palace, rather, lets you authorize the construction of Black Market and SCUD Storm.
They make General Leang out as this really competent goddess of war as if her weakness isn't literally brute forcing your way through her defenses to the point she tells you to just literally drive a column of tanks down her way.
Still remembered the old days: literally took around 5-8 times with the "Scorpion Cell" to actually beat her 😭
Hi @Jethild do you think you could do somthing like this for Command & Conquer Kane Warith for the Xbox 360 Faction Challenge please.
The timer for her weapons varies:
In Easy, 1 Hour.
In Medium, much shorter.
In Hard, 10 minutes.
Pretty sure she calls in a fuel air bomb on Hard Difficulty, which arrives from the west at your base, giving you no time to shoot it down.
modding her unit is fun.....she has many unused building and unit that's broken. in Shockwave mod, Gaia temple and seismic tank.
3 "quad"rants
Very nice
Lol, yeah. That's one of those mistakes you don't realize making until someone points it out.
@@Jethild understandable. All the other maps were in 4 quadrants
