      questluvdakid24 72k for a car that looks like a modern mk3 ford cortina . A car that can only smoke its tires in a straight line and a car that will run in fear and the mere mention of a corner . Nah no thanks for that price id even rather take nissan gtr

    The only thing you need to prepared for is that buying any new 2016 model at the beginning of the 2018 model year (regardless of brand or name) is that you are also "purchasing" 2 years of depreciation. That's the swirling sound you heard as you drove off the lot. Seeing that you got over $10K off, that offsets that kick in the nuts a little.

    Insurance is all based on many factors, age, past tickets/accidents and the main thing is population of where you live, the amount of uninsured motorists (they base this off of police records) and accident rates of the city you live in. For example I was paying $200 for my 2013 Audi S4 a month full coverage, 30+ years old and no tickets or accidents. I moved 30 mins away to Fort Worth and my insurance dropped $50.

    Info and tips from a hellcat manual owner.
    I bought my 2016 dodge challenger hellcat in manual for 50,165. 6 months ago
    Insurance cost is same as my 2010 dodge ram. Doesn't make sense to me at all.
    After owning it for 6 months if you buy a manual delete the CDV valve or you will have a premature clutch failure.
    With CDV valve taking off feels wrong like your chocking the engine and you hear a odd noise when the clutch engages.
    Will also smell clutch burning during extended trips even during casual driving.
    1st, 2nd and reverse feel weird.
    Without the CDV valve everything engages properly and should feel like any other manual.
    No clutch burning smell at all now.
    CDV should have never been installed in this car and does nothing at all helpful.
    It simply transfers the wear and tear from the engine onto a semi non warranty part rather the drive train / rear end.
    It is only there to ruin your driving experience and transfer liability from dodge to you.
    I unfortunately had a defective clutch failure within 3k miles.
    It was ruled as being defective from factory and SRT extended the warranty to compensate.
    They replaced the flywheel clutch both pressure plates and throw out valve.
    If you buy a manual do not take delivery if the shifter does not click and slid into gear easily.
    The telltale sign was the clutch should be super light after being pushed in half way.
    Mine was hard all the way through but didn't know better as it was the only one i ever drove.
    If you ever have a issue call SRT and open a case.
    Dealers are idiots and treat you the same as a guy driving a dart.
    All hellcats burn oil like its there job.
    When you buy the car always make sure you buy some Pennzoil 0-40 to top it off.
    I have had dealers say the stupidest things and make assumptions that do not make sense.
    When the oil was low they assumed its because it leaks.
    Its because it is a hellcat and the engine gets freaking hot or normal break in losing oil is normal.
    And i do not mean a little i mean qts of it.
    If the dealer gives you shit or isnt acting properly.
    Call dodge or SRT and fight back.
    I have had many dodges and some major issues.
    Dealers have always let me down.
    Dodge never has.

  • @Cyhawkx
    @Cyhawkx 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Most insurance companies consider the Hellcat a "pleasure" vehicle, expecting you to take care of it, own a second daily car and not drive it as hard/as much as the scat. Thus the insurance is generally lower, unless its the only car on your insurance. Then its higher.

  • @edged_mindset
    @edged_mindset 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    the insurance doesn't relate to the cost of the car, it more has to do with medical bills as a result of a crash. Your top determiner of insurance cost is the insurance safety rating on the car, next is where the likelihood of a crash comes in which has to do with the "sports" car thing. Safety ratings on chargers/challengers are pretty good

  • @jasonrash7020
    @jasonrash7020 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Insurance companies get more crash claims for affordable trucks and cars than they do with expensive cars, because a larger volume of people own them. Their rates are based on which vehicle is more likely to end up in a ditch. There are far more claims for Ram 1500's and SCAT Challengers than there are for Hellcats. The "slight" bump up from the previous premiums is simply due to the $$ value of the car vs. their own statistics. Premiums don't scale with horsepower.

  • @2rcurry
    @2rcurry 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dodge does that. I had an SRT-4 back in 2005 and the vin came up as a Stratus, so I only paid $100/month for insurance at 24 years old for full coverage.

    Insurance companies might experience more losses with Scat Packs than Hellcats. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's all based on statistics over HUGE numbers of people and car accidents. But like you said, there are other factors as well, if you're older now, credit went up, maybe you're living in a lower rated zip code now... all those factors, with many more, can come into play as well. Been working in the auto insurance field for 11 years now. Congrats on the kick ass deal!!!

    My Scat Pack Challenger cost more a month for insurance as well than my current Hellcat... Didn't make much sense to me either. I pay $70 a month for my Hellcat and 2000 Civic combined. Buying my second car (Civic) is what really made my insurance drop a lot because I got a multi car discount. I am also 30 years old and have no tickets since I was 18.

    I think the reason the cost is lower for the Hellcat has to do with what the CEO said one time before in an interview. He worked something out where the insurance of these cars wouldn't be as much. Now saying that he may have been talking about the Demon just can't recall but I do remember him saying specifically about the Challenger insurance having some deal.

    Why not buy a decked out scat pack for $48,000...install a 2.8L supercharger for $7,000. spend $3,000 getting it installed and tuned correctly. You get 900 horses for under $60,000

    Love the red interior! That's what I wanted on mine but I couldn't get one for the right price. I usually shoot for 10k off of sticker for an American brand vehicle which is fairly common. You got a good deal on yours.
    BTW it looks like I don't live very far from you!

    I know I shouldn't do this! But every since RP Productions purchased his "Hellcat" I just give all his videos a Thumbs up' without even looking at the video! I just know it's going to be awesome.." Afterwards I proceed to view the video. Like I thought it's an awesome "Hellcat video!! I admit I am jealous of RP Productions 'Hellcat, but for some reason I just can't hit the Thumbs down button. All Hellcats to me are Gods of all cars.." and when I see them, one by one, I must praise them on my knees.."Hellcat Gods!!!

    I keep hearing about people that want the hellcat because it can do great burnouts and donuts. Just buy a used RT for 20k and save 50k, put the skinniest hardest tires on the back and do your stupid ass burnouts and donuts. Or spend two bucks on a can of motor oil and coat your rear tires on your honda civic and do the same thing. As for me I want a hellcat to take it to the track and run in the 10's with a big ass pair of drag radials and zero wheelspin - now that's whats cool, not dorky donuts and 200 foot burnouts while the car barely moves.

    Riley, congrats on this car, it is sharp in white!! I started watching when you had your 14' blacktop and liked it so much I bought a 100th anniv RT in white. I aspire to the hellcat once the kids are out of daycare! Quick question...did you ever put a tune on your 14' and if so, was it worth it?

    area, age, how many doors the car has, usually 2door cars are more then 4doors cause theyre "sporty" . but also how old the car is. insurance is never the same from city to city, person to person and some companies are just expensive.
