    Just got mine today. I was afraid it was gonna be too menu divy. Naaahh, it doesn't even feel like you're menu diving. Everything is quickly accessible, easy to tweak, intuitive and at a reach. The only thing I needed the manual for was how to save a preset. I got to say, I am heavily impressed. Got it, unboxed, pluged into my phone charger, grabbed my headphones, powered it on, got on my couch making patches and tweaking everything. I truly got lost and forgot something else than me and the synth existed. I got to say, when I finally noticed the cats... their expressions have let me know that they've been hungry for hours waiting for me to notice them. I'm alive but damn fun micro synth tbh. Good job Berhinger! P.S. No cat was harmed during this review. The human has some scratches. The cats weren't truly hungry, had all the food they want, but they wanted that other flavour.

    I love how the keys are arranged. You get an octave PLUS a scale tone lower and higher. That way you can resolved to the root from the subdominant and from the second scale degree. If it was c to c that would imply starting and endinh at the lowest or highest note for C major key melodies. This small change opens things up so much.

    Hello,
    First of all, and as i already said previously about the pro vs mini, It sounds really good for me.
    But although i was very enthusiast at first glance one year ago, i am not sure now to pull the trigger on them considering my specific needs (dawless setup) :
    - no built-in power source,
    - no din or trs midi for the jt-4000,
    - limited or inexistent built-in sequencer.
    I totally understand certain limitations (no built-in battery for instance) chosen to keep the costs as low as possible and/or for environnemental concerns.
    But as small devices with a form factor ideal to be carried everywhere, the ability to be truly self-contained without the need for other accesories (powerbank, usb midi host, sequencer...) is a great advantage.
    I own already several behringer products, so i am not against you.
    I don't know how much the "dawless" hobbyists like me "weight" in the musical market, but from my experience there is a real need for compact and affordable tools like external sequencers, usb midi host, compact mixers... i don't know if you are planning products in these fields but they could be game changers !
    I now wait for the hirotribe ; can't wait !

      I agree. Here it is 86% the price of the Pro VS mini, too.. which has way more controls and MIDI that doesn't rely on USB. If you keep using U-He synths, Massive X, or Native Instruments Pharlight, then yeah, they eat way too much CPU. It's best to use them sparingly, or render them to audio tracks so you can free up CPU for the rest of the mix.

    I want to be excited about this. But the more I think about it, the more I feel like buying the necessary dongle or two to hook a MIDI keyboard and headphones to a smartphone-for anyone who already has a smartphone-would be a better investment. Even the physical controls-being as limited as they are here-don’t seem to offer much over a touchscreen.

    • @ilovecatsandsynths9702
      @ilovecatsandsynths9702 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem with USB is you have to connect a USB device to a USB host, while with standard DIN or TRS midi you can connect device to device. So unless your midi controller can be a USB host and provide power, you’d need a 3rd device (computer or other USB host device) to connect a controller to the synth. They managed to fit a DIN MIDI port on the Pro VS, but no room for even a TRS port on this one?

    • @TheKiller1922

    does it have the gritty delay w/ feedback? can't have a JP-8000/8080 without the internal delay. it's an integral part of many of the sounds. It's also not exactly easy to replicate w/ external hardware/software even though it's a simple delay.

    • @AnalogFlava
      @AnalogFlava ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like no supersaw either so all in all not really a replica if this is the case, just more analog 80s synth which is ok but it aint a 90s synth then. Btw, it was a VA synth so not sure why this here is analog?
