- Epic Mickey Rebrushed just had a HUGE 8 minute gameplay reveal from GameSpot and I went and scoured through all the footage to find any little detail I could to put in this video! Let me know if YOU found something I didn't talk about here, I'd love to know!

Fun fact: The splatter coming when Mickey double jumps at 3:25 is actually coming from Mickey himself as opposed to the paint brush. This is a large point in the original game and the ink coming off of Mickey is way more apparent there

Yes I was just about to comment this. The blot grabbed and enveloped Mickey which caused Mickey to absorb a lot of the blot. I love that they added more effects to show the aftermath of that.

I love the new details in Epic Mickey Rebrushed! Some of my favorite little details from this are the new sound effects to Mickey's double jump and the screen turning black and white when Mickey loses a life.
Fun fact the new jump sound effects isnt new their unused ones from em1 and 2

9:38 actually *iirc* he only appeared physically ingame a few times of when going against the eye claw machine in the tutorial, when you fix his house (he is briefly seen fixing a machine), after you defeat a boss and he raises your paint/thinner capacity, and when in the final level when you reunite with him. Outside of these occurrences, the only other times you see him ingame are his text or cutscenes in Epic Mickey 1 so I definitely do agree that it is REALLY nice to see more often (plus it also gives more of that feeling that he’s actually helping you and by your side which is a really nice touch)
Something that is a great attention to detail and I saw comments on that gameplay video is that whenever you turn the camera around, Mickey's ears will move as if they're completing the Mickey silhouette.
4:49 Sheesh, there were so many times where I'd have to stop moving for a second or two after breaking objects, and I didn't think about it too much when playing but that adds up so fast and I'm glad they got rid of that issue.

Also, I do hope there's some smoke effect to hide the popping clouds in the steamboat willie segment.
And one thing I forgot to mention in the previous video. it turns out in the segment where you spin to fix the whirlpool, they added a gate at the end of the segment of this challenge preventing players from wondering into the exit.

I’m already a huge EM buff with this franchise so this is definitely going to offer me a fresh challenge as I traverse through Mickey’s first journey in Wasteland!
Side note: also in the SBW level, there are also now Green E-Tickets. Those show up later in other 2D levels and in the game in general.
While I don't like the new HUD as much, since I always thought the sketchbook icon with Mickey's face chaging as the pages turn is class , and the hearts just look... off as opposed to the pips (I really don't know why, I think it's because it reminds me of a Mickey Castle of Illusion game more than anything)...
...I think the changes to how the Guardian meters work now are actually pretty cool, at least if my assumptions are correct! That's what these meters are. In the original game, the more you use paint or thinner, the more you fill the meter with the respective substance. After you fill one bar, you attract one guardian, a Tint if you use paint, or a Turp if you use thinner.
However, if you've been using paint, and have the bar with paint, using thinner decreases the meter, and the same thing happens when vice versa, so you pretty much had to commit to either using Tints or Turps. It's another mechanic that encourages you to specialize on either paint or thinner, because if you use both equally, you ain't getting guardians as often.
Now in the remake, there are two meters, one for paint and the other for thinner, at first it seemed you now actually have some freedom to fill each bar separately and independently, but the thinner bar will still deplete when you use paint and vice versa, so you can't still fill both bars at the same time. However, when you already have a Tint with you, you still have the freedom to fill the thinner meter, which means you can actually have both Tints and Turps joining you at the same time, instead of only being able to specialize on one type! Very cool stuff!
Everything else, I honestly am really liking to see! The death animation for when Blotlings fall into thinner is cool, and I really appreciate the fact the Fire Bridge is now actually a bit more functional as a proper bridge (I'd always be afraid of slipping off the curved surface as I crossed it)
As for how bright the game was on the Switch trailer, I honestly think they weren't intending for it to look like that, I think they were still finishing the lighting and stuff for the Switch. Either way, I like how it's looking now! Vibrant, but not blinding blight 😁
Epic Mickey 2 has both paint and thinner stamina and depending upon the choices made, there has potential for a larger paint gauge or thinner gauge on the stats for Mickey. Maybe they added the changes made for the sequel.
I CANNOT WAIT for this remake, either, RidersDX! I LOVE everything that’s Mickey Mouse related!
6:41 the system been there before it called spray mid air and it was a thing in epic mickey 2 i can't remember for epic mickey
It was in the first game as well. Actually it had 2 functions. If you tap the button for paint or thinner after a jump, then Mickey sprays under himself (that's good if you don't want to spray the platform that you want to jump on before the jump). And if you hold down the button then he'll spray forwards.

Gosh I literally cannot wait for this game!! They are doing such a wonderful job about adding some small quality of life details and I love that they toned down the colors from the initial trailer. It’s much more faithful to the original and it’s atmosphere. I’m just so grateful that they’re taking so much time, love, and effort for this game. While I’m still hoping for a summer release, I want them to take as much time as they need to make the rest of the game as perfect as this!! ❤

As shown on 4:13 it’s part of the remake rider I knowtice the original epic Mickey that came out on the Wii had more of a gray color but don’t have a name while the remake it has a name and finally has the color blue and it’s Braun.

Didn't notice the screen going grayscale when Mickey got hurt and definitely didn't notice the death animation for the fallen blotling!! That was so cool!!! And a little dark somewhat, poor blotling lol. I think that bit with Mickey jumping and the paint splattering, I don't think the paint is coming from his brush- rather, its coming from Mickey's body.
Personally, I like that there is no voice acting. The voice acting in epic mickey 2 kinda ruined it for me
I think the reason it had voice acting was because of the musicals
I hope they fixed the cutscenes then. Some go by so fast it's hard to read. Best example is the scene where Oswald and Mickey meet and talk to each other for the first time. Or even some of Gus' tutorials.
their voices were also pretty much decided by the grunts in the og game.
Honestly, the grunts were a LOT better in my opinion
@@danitabori I'm pretty sure Oswald's lines being fast during that cutscene was on purpose. Probably because he himself speaks faster than normal during that part.
