Since Daredevil's first appearance in the pages of Daredevil #1 (April 1964), there have been 5 live-action media variants of the character.
Welcome to Geekwatch's variants, and in this episode we would list down all the actors who have portrayed Matthew Murdock, the Man without Fear, Daredevil.

• 6'1" Ben Carruthers is the 1st actor to don a Daredevil costume for an untitled 1975 Daredevil and the Black Widow project. The project was not picked-up and turned into a tv series. Only a few photos exist of Carruthers in costume. Ben Carruthers would have been 38 years old if the tv series was produced on their targeted date.
• 6'0" Rex Smith is the 2nd actor to portray Daredevil. He appeared in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk tv movie (1989). Rex Smith was 34 years old when he appeared as Daredevil.
•In Jay and Silent Bob strike back movie (2021), we see the duo stumble into a set where a movie crew was filming a Daredevil scene. This Daredevil is played by a stuntman.
• 6'3" Ben Affleck is the 4th actor to portray Daredevil. He appeared in the following; Daredevil movie (2003), and Affleck's Matt Murdock appeared in a dream sequence in the Elektra movie (2005). Ben Affleck was 30 years old when he appeared as Daredevil.
• 5'10" Charlie Cox is the 5th actor to portray Daredevil. He appeared in the following; Daredevil tv series: seasons 1-3 for 39 episodes (2015-2018), Defenders limited tv series for 8 episodes (2018), and Cox's Matt Murdock appeared in Spider-man: No Way Home (2021). Cox was 32 years old in his first appearance as Daredevil, and 36 years old in his last.

1. Jay and SIlent Bob Strike Back was released in 2001, not 2021 as stated in the video.
2. Charlie Cox's portrayal of Matt Murdoch in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 means the actor was 39 when he last appeared as the character... as of the making of this video. In 2022, he appeared as Daredevil/Matt Murdoch in the She-Hulk Disney+ series, at age 40.

What's that black suit all about? It looks more like the man that delivered the 'Milk Tray' chocolates in those 70s adverts. In that first version, I think the mask is painted on.

Rex Smith was good as Matt Murdock and Daredevil there was going to be a Spinoff daredevil show after the TV movie but it didnt happened too bad it would of been good

Y'know, imo, the designers who try these adaptations have no visual acuity at ALL. There ARE ways to stick to the costume design in the comic faithfully and make it LOOK good. We know they easily look goofy, so you have to go the extra step in the "figure carving". They always miss the visual opportunities, without exception.
Among comicbook characters, who would you say has the best costume adapted to live action.
@@Geekwatch00 On the Marvel side, the latest Spider-Man. (Not Raimi's). It's Parker they're missing! I've always hated the casting. I'm too much the visual purist: John Romita, Sr!. Yeah, I've no problem with the Spidey costume. Just who's underneath. After that, in DC's camp, Tim Burton's Batman. And Christian Bale's. (You're making me realize what a comics geek I really am!)

My apologies he actually appears as the man in black as well. I have never watched this film myself. I'm just aware of Matt's presence in the film.
