    I just made this today and it is so yummy. I did the slow cook option. Thank you for teaching me how to use my foodi. It sat on my counter for a year I was afraid of it. Now I use it every day. :)
    I am on keto and it is so much easier using the foodi

    I watched video this morning , went to the store and purchased all the ingredients , got home and fixed this for dinner! I’m keto so I put mine on a bed of spinach but my son and hubby put there’s on bread with melted cheese! Big hit , so scrumptious! Thank you for sharing!

    Hello Louise. I just made this French onion chicken. Wow, it was delicious. I used chicken thighs and yes I had to cook them 3-5 mins longer. I omitted the cheese due to allergies to Swiss. I put it over creamy mash potatoes. What a treat. This recipe is very versatile. Thank you for sharing this wonderful dish.

    This is EXCELLENT!!!!! We just finished eating this for dinner tonight and it was fabulous! It was SO tasty. The only thing I did different was to use mozzarella instead of the Swiss cheese. The one thing that was a pain - was slicing the chicken, but I have gone to your Pampered Chef site and bought that nice cutter you used - can't wait till it arrives. Another one out of the ballpark Louise! Also bought the ingredients for the Chop Suey/Chow Mein dish - gonna make it tomorrow night. Wish me luck! Luv ya Ms. Louise.

      Sometimes chicken breasts are that way even when you cook them correctly. It's possible that you cooked them too long or that the chicken was older and the meat is simply tougher.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just a personal preference. Some people don't like cooking on coated surfaces, like non-stick. For me, I like the sear that you get from stainless versus non-stick and that I don't have to be careful about what utensils I use.

    • @mikeedwards2621
      @mikeedwards2621 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah stainless is more forgiving. The ceramic coated pots are nice but you have to be vigilant and use plastic coated utensils as you mention.

    • @carmingreen1514

    • @BlackCat0294
      @BlackCat0294 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess this recipe is based on a classic French Onion Soup recipe which is traditionally cooked with beef broth. You could substitute it with any other broth, but I would advise against it, since the intense flavor of beef broth in particular goes really well with the sweetness of caramelized onions and thyme aroma, it's simply a classic combination

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like Ksenia said, I used beef broth to give the richness and color of a French onion soup. Any broth will work though. If you want to use chicken broth, try adding in a splash or two of Worcestershire sauce which will deepen the flavors.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not a big fan of cooking meat from frozen, especially chicken breasts, but it can be done. I would probably PC the frozen breasts for a few minutes and then continue on with the recipe. You might not be able to cut the chicken in half, but that is okay, you'll just have to cook them a little longer.
