Man, I wish I could find that nice of a 1st gen around, they've practically evaporated off the face of this planet. And the real gold, by the way, is that Fu-Schnickens album (pronounced FOO-Schnickens)
I know eh, cant remember last time I seen a 1st in the wild honestly. This is such a gem, plan to resume some more work on it soon. Want to drive it this summer. 😂 as for the fu-schickens album. Ill be pumping it in the car once she out for a cruise
@@misegades golden! I know your the right person to be looking at this car if you know the music from these cars still roamed the streets. Im probably same age. These definitely hit the nostalgia strings
They are awesome! This one has some deep roots with me being my friends car from when we were teens. They are a very underrated platform. Such rad little cars. So glad to have it
That 2L DOHC sounds exactly as it should! I've got a '98 with well over 400,000 kms on it. Throw some sway bars on the front and rear (if you haven't already), and take it down a twisty road! I think you'll enjoy this car!
-Paint and install the side skirts -Stock trunk -Stock spoiler -Find the oem taillights -Install the header -Use the roller wheels off the ra and paint them gunmetal -Upgrade the brakes -Leave the rest -Clean and put all the interior back -Detail the rest of the car and have some fun with it! What a great project. Love the time capsule stuff. I’ll be coming back to watch this and the gc ra videos for sure!
Ya definitely sketchy, i dont plan on using the china unit overall. Plan on getting a pump for the original unit. If im going to srt4 swap eventually should i seek higher flow pump to put in the original sending unit?
@@TheSubieSanctuary Yes, depending on your goals. If it's going to be a stock swap a drop in walbro 255 will work. That's what I am using on my srt on e85. There is a fuel pump rewire kit sold to keep voltage from dropping and keeps the pump happy. If you're going big turbo then either a walbro 450 or 525. They require modification to the housing and bypassing the stock regulator and different feed and adding a return line.
Srt4 fuel pump is a plug and play only issue is the sending unit reads backwards I did it on my neon since I had an abundance of srt parts also you can use a walbro 255 should be plenty for srt4 swap been waiting on this video! Thank you
@@TheSubieSanctuary I used a walbro 255 on my srt4 pushing 315 hp on e85 worked great and pretty cheap and easy to do if you do the srt4 swap document it for us!
Ok, just realized this video is 10 months old 🤦🏻♂️ subscribed for Neon vids! (Neon owner since ‘97)
Thats wicked, loving the neon. I do have a 3 video playlist on it. I am still actively working on some more improvements with it.

Please do more neon videos!!! That will keep me coming back, for sure!
Absolutely brother! Hope to have so good gains for next vid 🙏
I'm down for another neon vid
That neon is a time capsule, with the cassettes, PS1 demo discs and even the tail lights and spoiler.
Pretty rad, definitely took me back
It's alive!!! I miss my 97 Sport Neon. It was a great little car. RIP.

The skirts with a lip on stock bumper could actually work really good.
Nice warm air intake... Might need that in Canada :)
Genius eh 😂 keeps the exhaust temps down but sucking the heat off them
If it were me, I would leave it as is and throw some nice wheels on it. It looks great on video!
This is the route I believe I will be going. I do at least want to get a front lip on the bumper. I think it would look great even in modern times.
Yay! Progresssssssss 🤙🤘.
The fwd Bugeye runs
Nice
Love neons
Currently have a 97
They are awesome cars, very rare here in the rust belt
The knock off Amazon fuel pump assembly must not have the locating tang the factory basket has. The tank is notched to ensure proper placement.

That is sweet and good to know. Figured with end goal being the srt swap. It could use a higher flowing pump 🤜
