- A few of us went out wild camping in a Scottish forest this week: Kincardine, Devilla Forest, Scotland. One of my favourite places to camp that's a short journey from my home.

Wild Camping in a Scottish Forest
Another wild camp in one of my favourite spots for an "easy" camp: Devilla Forest. A 15 minunte car trip to the parking spot and a 15 minute walk to our camping spot for the evening. Despite a local not taking too well to our adventures, we enjoyed our evening, were respectful of the environment, and cleaned up after us - as per - with zero issues.

Mate that's the worst I've ever seen. Appears to just accumulate at the foot area. There was a pool down there.

Monty, I had a Geertop tent like the one you used in this video. I'm smaller than you and found it a squeeze. Condensation was horrible - the inside wall felt like a shower curtain in the mornings. On the mountains with a breeze through the night it might be better, but I'm a woodland camper (in Australia).
I hate single skin tents in Britain, or any humid environment. Looked like a good night was had by all. I haven't had Bucky in yrs... I live in england at the moment, so it's not easy to find.. Take care out there.
Single skinners are tents that are good for 1 night unless it's dry the next day then you can air everything out assuming your staying in the one spot 😂.
Buckfast is disgusting mate, me and Fudge are from Coatbridge though lol
@@MontyOutdoors I gave a bottle to an english friend a few yrs ago.. I told him to be careful with it.. he got drunk when hosting a family event, then decided to drink the Bucky... He doesn't remember what happened, but he deliberately flipped the buffet table over smashed up the sterio and threw his in-laws out.... he woke up coverd in dew, lying in the garden, some of his in-laws still don't talk to him... He blames me!! Even managed to get others to blame me.. I wasn't even there. 😎😎😎😎😎... Bucky the gift that keeps on giving...

Well said. Actually had another 🔔 end complain the other week too. We arrived at like 9, went to sleep at 12, and got up early. Wasn't near a house and surrounded by trees, but they saw our cars and kicked up. Hate them.

Sunday morning a guy comes walking past and places an orienteering flag 20m from our camp and tells us 400 folk are taking part in an orienteering race and will be coming past in a few hours.

Hi Alan. The sleeping bag has a built in nesh that fits any mat so no slipping off. And to answer a question the best way that has worked for me for not slipping off is place your empty backpack under the side are leaning too and that should solve your problem. ATB Fudge

I've honestly had zero issue sliding off a mat, I don't move much in my sleep plus I level my sleeping mat using clothes and my bag. Apparently there are tricks on TH-cam to "stick" your bag to the mat. Then there's Fudges advice.

I've camped at Peppermill Dam too. But in the forest is 100x better. Underrated forest.
Where did you all park ? in the housing scheme down from the police training place ??? ( and I popped to the hidden valley on Monday night, Was a group of nine tents, thought it might have been your squad but alas no.)
Aye. Always park there when I head over to Devilla. I most certainly don't camp with 9 people lol. 2/3 is my preferred but gonna try a solo in June.

@MontyOutdoors that was my third time at the lost valley but first solo. I'm going to hit Divilla as soon as I shake this bloody cold. It came back with a vengeance on Wed. I camped under the Avon viaduct a few weeks ago. Really cool place for a camp. Just park at Bridge 49 ( pub) and walk along. About 13 mins.
