Unfortunately I discovered this channel a little too late. 😢 Failing to find proper help in the Netherlands for my foot injury (7 years ago) I started to self diagnose. Firstly an external rotated tibia and later lack of internal rotation of the pelvis. 🤔 I started to self treat and ended up making things only worse. I also started walking on barefoot shoes. That was a good choice though. I love to use them in the forest as I like the way my foot responds to the uneven surface. I also love that I start to feel more and more. I can feel my front arch and also start to sense a more refined feeling at the bottom of my toes. I think the barefoot shoe also exposes my flaws, a weak mobilised foot. A result of a lifetime (I am almost 57) walking in "decent" shoes with good arch support.
I am grateful to experience more sensations in my feet but I struggle to improve my gait. I have no idea what I'm doing...not really! Yesterday I allowed my foot to pronate more than usual during my walk and today my right foot and ankle feels strained. Did I do the right thing? So today I only went for a little walk. I also tried my old Hokas and noticed not to experience any issues wearing them. As my foot is not really doing anything in these shoes I assumed my foot needs to recover from overuse as apparently they still haven't adapted. Unfortunately time is not on my side. Next month I start on my PCT and I am trying to come up with a strategy allowing me to go. I am now contemplating to alternate my Xeros and my Hokas. However it really feels like a step back. Any suggestion is more than welcome. Many thanks.
Broke my big toe joint on my right foot 35 years ago. I couldn't agree more about the big toe range of motion. Does a restriction in big toe range of motion on one side affect the range of motion on the opposite side?
thanks for this video. what would you recommend for someone with both a stiff big toe and metatarsus primus varus? would the exercises in this video help or are there better ones? thanks a lot!
My arch on left foot is not as strong as that of the right, and I tried your exercise here. Right big toe lifted 60 degree with no problem, but I feel a pull in the achilles tendon when lifting up my left big toe. Why might this be??
My ball is just pinging out from under my foot 😂
Any way I can treat the bunion on my big toe?
if you have decreased ROM from decades how can you reverse that ?
Do you have any bunion excercises?
We'll keep that in mind for future videos! Thanks for watching!
