When they did their First Album New Kids On The Block, it flopped only selling 100,000, and you need 500,000 to have it certified Gold. They almost got dropped but when a B Side called "Please Don't Go Girl" was played on a Florida Radio Station that's when their popularity took off. From 1989-1992 they were hot. Jordan Knight admitted he was heavily influenced by Russell Tompkins Falsetto in The Sylistics.
