I reorganized my craft room back in January. I was ruthless with myself, meaning I asked myself am I going to use this yarn? I got rid of bag like those you are using, of some really thick and really thin yarn that I haven’t used in YEARS! I started selling my crochet items at 2 farmers markets and I really needed to get organized. It felt good to do this. Then I realized last week that I was lacking browns and the like for making cows(they seem to be a hot seller😂). So what did I do? Went to JoAnn’s and got some great sales and clearance yarn. So glad I organized because I had baskets and shelf space for all of it❤. I am loving watching you settling up your new space!
I know it's hard not to get overwhelmed when you're looking at it all in one giant mass! Do what you have to do to get through it by the section. I had to go through mine by the storage bag, because the few times I dumped them out for Flash your Stash, I got that way and then I had to put them all back away. So not doing Flash your Stash again. I'm going to live vicariously through others on that. I love seeing other people's stashes and how they have organized them.
I freakin loved this video! Your passion for yarn and powering through it is adorable and admirable. My yarn is all tucked away in over 100 totes and if I ever have to move it organize it, it’s gonna be chaos!

Yikes, a candle makes me nervous in there. What about plugins or a wax melter? Or just put up a sign on the door to check everything before you leave. Hopefully you don't have early 'senior moments' like I do lol. Love your videos!

I use dollies with wheels to pile tubs in front of other tubs. The wheels mean you can just move them from one place to another and have access to everything.

So much beautiful yarn. I hope you have insurance for contents of your "office" space. I'm not an insurance person, I just think people should have insurance for expensive collections, contents, things that are worth a lot and irreplaceable. That amount is yarn is definitely worth a lot. I'm always sad when I see something like this get lost and was uninsured in a disaster of any kind. Usually doesn't cost much for insurance. Just a thought. I just look at all of that and think how much time and effort and love and expense went into it. I lost some very loved irreplaceable antique books in a water heater failure and Im still so sad at losing them. Insurance did cover them, which made the loss a little less painful. Some collections are not covered with standard insurance, you need to have your agent get just the right kind to cover it. People at home with large collections should also consider it. Individual skeins aren't worth a lot, but if you start adding up this amount of yarn it's a huge expense. Adding coverage on to your home owners or renters insurance should be cheap and well worth it. Be sure to get REPLACEMENT cost insurance, not "value, " because they will value it much much lower. You will need to have pictures or receipts to prove the value after loss, but as Ginger has here, videos of it all show what yarns it is so is a document thing the insurance will accept. Just be sure your picture proof or video proof of your collection is stored in more than one place. Like if it's all on your phone and your phone is lost, no proof. Store on the cloud or other digital safe place. I don't know if you would need to insure for moth damage but it might be an issue as well. Insurance can be very veery specific what is and isn't covered in a policy. My dad was a lawyer so I learned a ton about the insurance cases he worked on. Being very specific in coverage was very helpful in a couple insurance claims we have had to do over the decades.

Just a suggestion, might want to rethink having a burning candle in there with all that fiber. My sister-in-law forgot a burning candle which then found something to catch and burned her house down just before Christmas one year. Their two cats perished in the fire too. 😢 So Im pretty nervous of candles. Im a worrier but with reasons and experience behind it. 😢 There are some great scented things that are safer and also better for your lungs than candles. I worry about lungs because I am losing my lungs to autoimmune disease and am on high oxygen all the time, and burning candles make it hard for me to breathe. (Also huge fire hazard with oxygen) Most people wouldn't notice the difference just from a candle, but it really affects me so it definitely can bother the lungs, just isn't noticed in healthy lungs. Being on oxygen all the time makes it pretty funny sometimes getting my yarn tangled in my tubing. And mixing up the tubing with the long cables on my circular knitting needles. Lol. This is fascinating watching you go through this whole process. You are doing a fantastic job. Your logic on all of it is what I would do. You have beautiful wonderful yarn and I can see how you would love love love it! Very inspiring for creativity.
I am absolutely shocked at how much yarn you have😮!!! Hubby is right: it’s “yarn gate!!!” I would definitely say you are a yarn hoarder.
