You should crochet some lavender or botanicals and hang them where those few skeins of yarn are hanging. :) Also, I know a lot of people in the comments are giving backhanded comments, but I really respect you for sharing things so openly. Yarn doesn't expire, and you have the space for it so its doing no harm. You've recognised that you want to make a change for yourself and that's great and you've inspired me to do the same.
Also, any yarn that you love but you arent inspired by right now, get some vacuum bags and seal them. Not only will It keep moths, dust and so on out, but they will be compressed into a smaller space, giving you some room to breathe.
What I've started doing with my yarn stash is just to start making blankets and wraps for Warm Up America. My scraps go into the squares they need as well. I'm just busting through it all. Making hats and scarves next for larger skeins.
Yes! I have to comment even before I watch the episode. The Trouble with Tribbles popped into my mind once when I went up in my attic to sort through my yarn stash. I saw a container, and with what can be described as dread, I looked inside, bracing myself that I would find yet MORE YARN. As if some other entity goes out buying all of this yarn without my knowledge!
I’m in love with your stash!! The yellow and orange are just so happy looking! Just wow! 🤑🤑🤑💗💗💗🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. I would be happy just to have your WIPS!! 😂😂
😊you’ve got me beat, I thought I had a lot till I saw the yarn room. I love it all as you do. At least you can see it. All of mine are in boxes and containers. Before the yarn I loved to cook! Now all my kids have grown up so not as much anymore! I’ll keep following you to see what other storage ideas you have! Looked good!! Thanks for sharing!!😊
Holy cow! That’s a LOT of yarn!! You have more yarn than Michael’s, Joann & Hobby Lobby combined!! You never need to leave your house again to shop for yarn just go room to room! 🤣
How Fun! You certainly are creative with your storage. It just needs to be touch a little more. It made me happy to see your finished projects within the whips and stash. You have made beautiful stitched projects. I would let your space tell the whole story. Thanks for sharing. Be well
Ginger, those humungus yarn cakes...where did you purchase them and what are they called? My mom is watching this video with me and she loves your yarn stash!!!
I'm definitely in the same boat. I've recently given away roughly 1200, not a typo, skeins of yarn to ladies in my area who crochet for charities. I still have WAY more than I could ever use before I die. I crochet mainly for charities now and it makes me feel good so, I don't feel too bad. With all of the beautiful yarn you have you would benefit from mystery boxes. I don't have the platform to advertise but you surely do. It's a lot of work but in the end it would be worth it!
Hi Ginger. Love all your yarn. You have a great system. I used to hoard books but have consolidated books on shelves to make room for yarn. 🥰🥰 look forward to watching you rearrange your rooms.
I love love the checkered pillow covers you've made!❤ They are soooo pretty Ginger! Amd your yarn room is amazing! Thanks for sharing! I love the star trek trebles too❤😊⚘️🌷🪻🌻🌺🎄
No I'm afraid I don't have very many trembbles. I can't afford yarn. And I've had ALOT of odds and ends for years. About 5 totes full. I'm finally down to 1 big tote. The last few years I've been crocheting like crazy! I've made several afgeans for family. And many scarves, hats etc to donate to the needy.
Love your walls of yarn. Tip: your guest will come and go , take things off the floor, put a bed and side table so they’ll be comfortable and that yarn wall can act as deco. Just a thought. If you ever decide on mystery boxes, I’m here for that bcuz I love to support the community I’m subscribed to since it gives you back some of the cash you put out. Don’t get me wrong, I love giveaways also but let those be for an achievement/milestone etc. Hope you get your Hobbii’s project figure out.
I had too many trebles but I just sold half of it to someone who wanted it all!! So now I have room for more. Cause that’s why you sale it, right? So you can go get more. 😁
You have a great stash. The only thing is I could not have it scattered all over the place. I am one of those people that has to be organized. Mine are stored in see through bins. Color coded and neatly put away.
Husband's always say things about our stashs!!! But it's dif if it's theirs!! Wish I could be there to help you with your yarn. If you want to get rid of any send it my way. If you got a 20 room house you'd be worse off and have 20 rooms ceiling to floor. I think we need a UFO and WIP challenge!! Love your rainbow wall!!!
Congratulations on renewal of your wedding vows, you guys looked so happy. Thank you for giving ys quick tour of all your beautiful yarn. Yes you need a special place for it. God-bless you and Jesus hugs ✝️
I have too many tribbles too... I have a den which is the unheated attached to the house with one wall of shelving and its the space of a 2 car garage and its overrun. I have most of my yarn there, in clear plastic totes on the shelves and I got a clear stackable cubes from Amazon also with yarn. I tried to inventory some of it to keep track. I have 2 closet fulls in 2 of my bedrooms, with a small corner stack in both of those rooms, one bin in the 3 room and in there I have my knitting looms and knitting machines. In the living room I have a basket I made where I keep all my hooks.
I had yarn in about 3 rooms in my house of course somewhat organized by type but I started noticing my finer quality of yarn disappearing. So I had to bag up most of it and store it elsewhere!?! But I love to see it out in the open😂
I finally had to yarn purge myself lol. Wasn’t easy but I’m glad I can get to the stuff I was missing not being able to use because I couldn’t get to it. I kinda used the logic that if I want it that bad for something, I can buy it again…
I am in the middle of packing up my yarn. Because we have to downsize and move to an Apartment, hopefully we can find one come may. That's when we have to move. I am so stressed out about getting stuff to fit. I'll get rid of furniture and stuff before I will my yarn. I have already gotten ready. Nicknamex and vault 30 bags of clothes. And I have a lot of Stuff packed up in the basement. We will have to go through after we get moved. No way, I'm unpacking all. Thank you so much for sharing.❤ And I gave the church most of my material.
Hey Ginger, great to catch another video, glad you are having a decent day…..yeah frogging can be a buzz kill but nothing like things coming together afterwards
I felt faint at seeing all your lovely yarn. My stash is hardly anything compared to how much you have. I never have more than one wip at a time going at a time. BUT...there are exceptions! If I see a TH-cam video that I am intrigued with, I will grab some yarn and hooks and try it out with the video. If I like what I see, I will save the video. Then, I will frog the work and go on with my current project. If it is an easy stitch, and I am in the middle of a project, I will just start working the pattern in the middle of what I am working on and frog it afterward and continue on with my project. I live in a studio apartment, so there is no room to store yarn in plain sight. I have 6 37-gallon totes under my bed. 4 are packed with yarn. One is only 1/2 full, and one is for other things. Early on during the pandemic, I started making scrap blankets and giving them away. It was an attempt to use up all my scraps. That backfired because after I used up the odds and ends, I would buy random colors so I could make more "scrap" blankets. I have more yarn than I had in the beginning. I try very hard not to keep what I make because I don't have room for it. I also take a day or 2 off in between projects to reset myself. If I don't abide by these guidelines, all hell breaks out. I would love to have one room just for yarn, but that is not a possibility at this time. I have about a hundred hooks and thousands of crochet digital patterns and instructional videos. They used to be all organized until I exceeded the space on my hard drive and all my files were moved to external hard drives. I save most everything to my devices and every so often I move them over to the hard drive. I have stopped organizing them in my crochet folder. I keep intending to organize them but I'd rather crochet. I don't have a lot of crochet books and paper patterns or I would be considered a hoarder. I would just call myself a digital hoarder except that I am not afraid to give away any yarn or anything else that I need to in order to have a false sense of unclutteredness (I think I might have just made up a new word). So I do feel your Tribble Effect. Stitch on sister! 😊
Hi Ginger I’m in love with your yarn rooms so much happiness in my opinion I have a question I want to make a very haloish (not a word but you get me lol ) what would you suggest mohair, alpaca, please help ❤️🇨🇦
At about 21:25/27 minutes in I saw a really nice large (drawstring?) tote bag in like a peach color with beige edging, is that one of your patterns, if so do you have a tutorial on it, or made from another? I would love to know where you got that pattern and do one up.
The best Star Trek! My husband said I can only have 1 room. I also have a lot, but I have "STOPED" buying any yarn even if the sale or clearance is great. Because my husband is great, but I think it would be to much?🤔And you have a lot of WIPS? I have made myself stop all new till I get all the started finished, but mine are on all DIY's (Halloween, Fall, Christmas, wreaths, sewing, knitting and crocheting) I wish you luck, and sending 🙏🙏🙏too!
Captain Kirk sent them to the Klingons. If you understand Klingons at all, you realize that the Klingons would have destroyed the Tribbles. That means the Tribbles would have a very short life span. I'm 75 and an original Trek fan.
Actually, it was Scotty who sent them to the Klingons, by beaming them into the Klingon ship--where, he told the Captain, they would be "no tribble at all"--just before they went to warp. 🖖🏼
Holy moly that's a lot of yarn! I always say my husband is a yarn enabler, but your husband is definitely an enabler! As for the tribles, I think you need another star ship, your ship runneth over. So much beauty at your fingertips. What a peaceful oasis of color and joy.
I thought my little stash is overwhelming but yours is incredible! Why don’t you start by giving away to charity a lot of the blankets you have? I saw so many wips, I can’t stand to have any! I need to finish a project before I can start a new one bc I know I’ll never get back to it and I probably won’t even remember what I was doing. But to each its own! if you are happy who am I to say anything!😅
Send me some of that yarn and I promise you I'll make lap blankets for nursing homes in my community and show you myself bringing them to the residents
My husband would not put up with using his hard working money doing with this wow how sad for your family can you visualize what you could use this money for a vacation time well spent with grand kids perhaps start in one half of the room decide to give away and yes it will be hard again not my stash two years ago they found I have stage for Brest cancer that matstiszed to my brain so the took two tumors by brain surgery then chemo in pill form and two tumors in right breast small they could not do a mastectomy because it spread already I may get to be here and I may not gosh the moneys I have waisted on what the wipes I didn’t finish crystal at bag o day is one of my heroine because she took a hard look at herself and then began to change it I hope to use all of mine by the time I die and that’s me ! But you honestly do you the yarns you have are beautiful
Congratulations on your vow renewal. No offense but I don't think you could live long enough to use all the yarn that you have. You could open your own yarn store.❤
Ginger, this is what I call, ‘Good Trouble’ 😊😅 ❤ It’s ok, give yourself Grace my dear. Take your time, do a couple of giveaways, then do some Destashes/ Mystery Boxes (use Pirate Ship though, I hear it’s cheaper that way for people like me that live on the other half of the U.S.).
Getting rid of yarn?! Who are you where's Ginger😅Your likely better off going through whips frogging many of them. Maybe base it on how long it's been there. Over certain age frogg it. Like maybe 6 months to one year. Over one year your never going to do it. Congrats on your vowl renewal. Very special to have your father in law do it. Maybe get rid of more books you will never again first and put yarn there.
I am giving a heads up , I am a &2 old Admirer of yours and also I watch all the time. I am will and will be happy to take some yarn that you wish to give away as I am on a a Very limited income , and although i love to crochet , I am unable to purchase . I am very happy to help you DE stash your stash.. I keep telling myself it would be nice to make some items with great yarn. Yes I am begging and hope you will give,, Ninette Bird - The Caribbean Wife- Cameron -Tx... Smile.
No if I can’t crochet it in a year I don’t need it you seem really scattered I’m sorry ask yourself questions like what was this ment for I’m sorry if it sounds harsh it’s your like and your yarn but wow
Ginger this is Missy I'm a subscriber I have some happy mail for you can I get a mailing address for you please or post office box which ever I want you to try some yarn that I had bad luck with! When I heard you say you tried it I want to send it to you! Please reply! Thank you
Thanks heaps! This actually de influenced me from buying heaps of yarn. I don’t want my house to end up like that!
So much yarn! I’m overwhelmed with my little corner clutter of yarn….LOL
lol…Come visit me in Kansas and I’ll load your car up!! 😂
You should crochet some lavender or botanicals and hang them where those few skeins of yarn are hanging. :)

I’m in love with your stash!! The yellow and orange are just so happy looking! Just wow! 🤑🤑🤑💗💗💗🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
😮 That’s a lot of yarn! I can’t use it all. Even if I knit and crochet 24/7, I would still never be able to use it.
I probably have two totes full and I'm a little overwhelmed with that amount! Sometimes it's more exciting shopping than using what you have.
I totally agree!! 😊🌸
Yes! I have to comment even before I watch the episode. The Trouble with Tribbles popped into my mind once when I went up in my attic to sort through my yarn stash. Love the tribbles!!!! You can never have too many 🧶☺️

Ginger, those humungus yarn cakes...where did you purchase them and what are they called?
My mom is watching this video with me and she loves your yarn stash!!!
I have yarn everywhere in my house too including under the bed and under the sofa. I'm definitely a yarnaholic!
I'm definitely in the same boat. I've recently given away roughly 1200, not a typo, skeins of yarn to ladies in my area who crochet for charities. I still have WAY more than I could ever use before I die. I crochet mainly for charities now and it makes me feel good so, I don't feel too bad.

Thanks, Cynthia!! I made those almost 10 years ago and they are still holding up!! 😄
I enjoyed watching your yarn rooms. I have a small room full of yarn and love each one.
Oh my!! I've used this 'tribbles' reference for over 30+ years (I've had to explain it to some folks too), but my yarn does grow in my stash!!
No I'm afraid I don't have very many trembbles. I can't afford yarn. And I've had ALOT of odds and ends for years. About 5 totes full. Love the thought of mystery boxes
Awesome!! Vote one for master boxes!! 🥳
that was the only star trek show I could watch when I was younger.
I have too many tribbles too... I have a den which is the unheated attached to the house with one wall of shelving and its the space of a 2 car garage and its overrun. Woweee Ginger!!! That’s quite the collection of yarn!! 🎉🎉
Lol… thanks Marilyn! 🤣🤣🤣
Haven’t seen too many episodes of Star Trek but that is one of the ones I’ve seen
Our yarn is like Tribbles, right?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
I have too many tribbles, I admit it, oh look a yarn sale...LOL😅
Hey Ginger, great to catch another video, glad you are having a decent day…..yeah frogging can be a buzz kill but nothing like things coming together afterwards
Hi Veronica! Thanks!! I hope your having a great day!!🥰 Lol… I think I have given in to the fact that today is a Froggy kind of day. 😂😂😂
your yarn collection is very appetizing 😊 you know what I mean 😅

Omg I love this
I wish you and your mom could be my neighbors!
