You're right! And what makes this an even greater achievement is that it wasn't until (in my opinion) the _third_ film that it hit its stride. Then from the fourth, Ghost Protocol, it found the magic formula. 😎
Great in almost every film, Valkyrie is an example of a different type of role, but excellent acting.
Other actors breaking the fourth wall talking to the audience, sitting or walking in front of the camera.
Meanwhile Tom standing on a plane probably 5000 feet above the ground, on top of the grand Canyon : "Hi Everybody... " 😎

This guy is nuts huge respect for his dedication and effort for maintaining realism and practicality in today's green screen entertainment world.
That being said there is still too much green screen and bad CGI in the last Mission Impossible (Rogue Nation was good)...

I think Tom Cruise is much more legendary than Jackie Chan, no one is even close to Tom in terms of making action movies.

When he was barely up on the seat I was like ok guess he's gotta be doing something dangerous... whatever. And then he turns downward while standing up and I'm like JAYSUSS.
No one else like him or comes close to his dedication. Will forever be a great. This franchise has seriously become one of/if not the very best ever. When the trailer came on pre Top Gun Maverick showing I literally had goosebumps to this trailer. Cannot wait for another instalment
MI has 0 story. It just has a plot thread so that action scenes make sense.

Watching his gradual transformation from “the new Paul Newman” to “the next PT Barnum” has been fascinating. Cruise is aware that the mature dramas he used to make (“color of money”, “few good men”, “born on 4th July”, many more) won’t get the butts in the seats like they used to. Sadly he’s totally right.

Cruise went beyond the limitations to become a cinema-crafter. He is not simply an entertainer. In an age were blockbusters are essentially gone. He mastered the art to make it ever-lasting. Wonder how someone can make something repetitive never boring or more exciting? ask Tom Cruise.
Final note: I like the fact of using pretty generic but cool names added to the main title of the movie. pretty Bond-esque. Just an indication on how high he set the bar on his MI franchise. He gave us an American Bond.

I've slept watching the last mission impossible. Tom should explore new ideas instead of recycling old ones. Maybe venture into horror. He doesn't need to keep proving he can do stunts at 60 years old. It's not like people will think less of him.
Although Tom's action stunts in mid air with biplane will be great , i really hope Rebecca Ferguson's character not be killed off in thoose upcoming Mission Impossible films , the key scene at 2:10 make us feel worry
Don't get me wrong, I love these MI films, but this one seems to have borrowed a lot from the Roger Moore James Bond movies (just waiting on the Union Jack parachute after that final shot)

He has a pilot licence and can fly planes and helicopter and have done it for MI but in TGM i dont think flew himself he had Navy pilots who did the flying and they were sitting in the back with camera attached to seats.
