I appreciate how thorough you are with the reveiws, You take into consideration many everyday use case unlike many other creators that tend to focus more on the marketed gimmicks
Hey Kristin just a note for you I received my rhinoshield mod nx unfortunately I still find there cases very slippery I was hoping over all the years they would have made some improvements so I was very disappointed. Grip cases can be hard for some people to explain them fully. The way I look at it is everyone has different oils in there hands if you have very dry hands some cases can feel very slippery but if you have sweaty hands some cases will actually feel more gripper. I live in a cold country for about 6 months of the year so my hands tend to be more on the dry side wish I lived in a warm humid country but that’s life so most cases that are plastic feel very slippery. Rhinoshield in my opinion has come up with a plastic that has wonderful drop protection and I’m so happy they came up with something they feel is amazing but unfortunately it’s still plastic and it’s still slippery. So if you have sweaty hands rhinoshield cases will be grippy but if you have no grease in your hands these will be very slippery. Just my two cents
Hi Alicia! So sorry to hear that the Mod NX is still not grippy enough for you. And you are absolutely right…grip is incredibly subjective. Lots of variables there!!
Been switching between the Clear and the Solidsuit for my 15PM. The Clear has very nice grip but there's no good way to hang a lanyard, not even with the Lanyard Card that Rhinoshield has been advertising. It's also snug and a bit tricky to remove. The Solidsuit seems slippery but it doesn't actually slide out of my hands that easily. Case is very easy to remove, isn't as bulky as the Mod NX and has a lanyard cutout. I'm still partial to clear cases but as far as solid ones go I can easily recommend the Solidsuit.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Grip is a funny thing...very subjective. What is super slippery to one person may not be that slippery to another. And it is a good point about the Clear lacking an easy lanyard attachment point!
Great detailed reviews! Watched your videos on these cases and decided to go for the MOD NX for my 15 pro max. The affiliate code isn’t working though 😭 Very helpful video! Made it easier to choose the right case for me! Thanks you👌🏼😁
Thank you! So, the affiliate code will only work on a $50 minimum purchase...and the error message doesn't tell you that...it just says that the code is invalid (very irritating!). Also, not all the regional RhinoShield websites work with the code. I know rhinoshield.io does, but some of the others don't...
You might have mentioned it but I didn’t see. Is there any wobble with the mod nx laying on its back? Looks like the bumper lip extends past the camera bump
Essentially zero wobble for both the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max Mod NX cases. If you push it from opposite corners when on its back, you get the very slightest, tiniest, hint of a wobble, but it is virtually undetectable. Overall, I would characterize them as wobble free. Definitely a pro for the Mod NX!
The ones made by RhinoShield should fit fine, but camera lens protectors made by other companies may or may not fit. I'd advise going with the ones from RhinoShield.
So happy it worked! That error message is so misleading…I asked RHINOSHIELD if they could change it to ‘$50 minimum purchase required’, but apparently they weren’t able to…
Love your channel! Ive shortlisted (for 15 pro max) nomad sport case; a rhinoshield; a casetify impact. I also like the mous clarity but camera lip too scary low. What would be your pick ito quality and handling? Magnets strength not matter to me.
How important is grip to you? The new RhinoShield Mod NX is quite nice...that's going to be the grippiest of the RhinoShield options, but it is relatively thick. The Clear is kinda grippy in its own way (although less than the Mod NX) and the SolidSuit is quite slippery. The Nomad Sport has too little front lip for me...otherwise it is a nice case. And the CASETiFY Impact remains my favorite of the CASETiFY cases...best combination of size, drop protection and grip. If good grip is important to you, I might want to go with the CASETiFY Impact over the other choices. But if you don't care about grip, then I would go with one of the RhinoShield cases. Hope this helps, and sorry it took me awhile to answer...I was on vacation.
@@TheTechReviewer thanks! I don’t mind grip so much, I’m now caseless. So mod NX has more grip than Casetify Impact? Better choice than Mous Clarity too / two? ;) in meanwhile my shortlist has deleted Nomad sports but added their Rugged.
The Nomad Rugged case is slippery, but other than that, it is a good case. 😊 And I took a closer look at this year's Nomad Sport case...it has more lip than last year's. But I think the Rugged Case is nicer overall. And as for the Mod NX versus CASETiFY Impact, I think that the Impact has more grip than the Mod NX, but it is a different sort of grip...a rubbery grip as opposed to the textured feel of the Mod NX sides. In a lot of ways, the Mous Clarity is similar to the CASETiFY Impact...same kind of clear back/grippy TPU sides. It's also a nice case, but the amount of rear camera protection is going to be too minimal for some people. Hope this helps!
Hi Alicia! Yes, I have a bunch of UAG cases that I have yet to review, as well as aramid fiber cases from Benks, some cases from Moment, supposedly some OtterBox cases on the way, some more CASETiFY cases, more Nomad cases, more screen protectors from FLOLAB, the new Speck Gemtones Sport headphones and some waterproof swimming headphones from Creative... I've heard good things about Bullstrap, but have never checked out their stuff. And I reviewed some MOFT stuff last year...they have some cool design ideas. But I haven't gotten any iPhone 15 Pro stuff from them...
@@TheTechReviewer yes, I installed everything as directed on the video and I have a gap between the phone and the case on the side of the power button. The back panel does not even fit correctly into the bumper. It should lock in not just rest on it.
Hi Dominick! I hear you...it's tricky to get on correctly. So, you might want check out my dedicated video on the Mod NX and Clear...in the review, I demonstrate how to snap in the back panel to fix the issue you are talking about: th-cam.com/video/snk4G_ce3Lo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=p3QzqaKGgZ2xYllD&t=270 Once get it snapped together, it fits on really securely. Hi Dominick! You can see that in the video as well. You need to start at the bottom of the case and push off the bottom right corner and then the bottom left corner, and then you will be able to slide off the case.
Hi Mike! So, for the past several years, I've gotten both the Pro and Pro Max iPhone models so that I can better review accessories for them, and every single time, I end up gravitating to the Pro over the Pro Max. I want to love the Pro Max...it is such a beautiful, capable iPhone. And this year's Pro Max is the best one yet, with the enhanced camera capability and the lighter weight titanium frame. (And yes...the titanium frame really makes a difference, for both sizes). However, even with all that, I love the Pro more. It is just the perfect size for me. Maybe as a lady, the size is simply better for my hands. Honestly, both the Pro iPhones are great, and if I only had the Pro Max, I'm sure I would absolutely love it. But given that I have both iPhones, I keep finding myself seduced by the smaller, sleeker Pro 😊. Hope this helps! Good luck with your decision!
Just ordered a mod nx man I hope it’s grippy. I just went with the plain clear case with MagSafe. I think that grip is a really strange design sometimes rhinoshield has some weird designs and I think over the last decade a lot of people have been asking for them to add grip and they have never really done that. Maybe everyone has sweaty hands at rhinoshield 🤨🤷🏻♀️
Hi Alicia! Hope you love your MagSafe Mod NX! So, the three piece design of the Mod NX with the rim and the backplate always irritated me (except with the option to have a different colored rim in backplate mode...that was nice). I was thrilled with its elimination. The other thing which was irritating about the old Mod NX design is that the complete lack of any ridge or rim around the backplate meant that it would get scratched extremely easily when the case was placed on its back. With the new design, they have fixed that problem. However, as I pointed out in my dedicated Mod NX/Clear review, the high back rim of the new design has made some MagSafe accessories incompatible. As to why they haven't made their cases more grippy, I think they have been constrained by the materials they use. Their cases have to be drop protective, food grade/BPA free, and accomodate MagSafe magnets. And now they are advertised as being made of monomaterials that are fully recyclable. Somehow, that must be incompatible with serious amounts of grip. The new Mod NX, with its textured sides and slightly tweaked shape, does manage to end up being pretty grippy (at least for a RHINOSHIELD case!!). What color Mod NX did you get?
@@TheTechReviewer Hi Kristin i understand that rhinoshield uses certain materials and I guess it’s just hard to add more grip. I ordered the black bumper with just the clear backplate with MagSafe. I just wanted something plain with no graphic It will probably take a couple of weeks but I am looking forward to seeing it.
Yeah, that's just what I'm guessing. Because if it was easy to add more grip, you would have thought that they would have done it long ago!! Hope you love your new Mod NX once it arrives. Let me know what you think!!
CASETiFY has the largest selection of prints out there, as far as I know. Almost a thousand! But they don't give you the option to switch out button colors (which is such a fun, cheap and easy way to change the look of your case!!) or camera rim colors, they often have fewer case colors to choose from (although that varies a lot by time of year...always fewer at launch, and then they add more) and their cases are much more expensive. Plus, their warranty is only for 6 months, versus a two year warranty and lifetime replacement warranty from RHINOSHIELD. CASETiFY does offer some product lines with greater drop protection than you can get from RHINOSHIELD, however (with their Bounce and Ultra Bounce cases). Both brands definitely have their pros and cons!
Without a drop test what use is it company is a gimmick lacking real protection first goal of a case is protection , ease of use and usability looks in the end
They are not a gimmick, I had a mod NX and solid suit for my 12 Pro Max. I had a clear one for my 13, and I had a solid suit for my 14 Pro. Now I think I’m going to go with the clear, for my new 15 PM. If they were a gimmick, my “phones”would have shattered along time ago..
