Born and bred a Scotsman, and so he will always remain 😀. Distance and location makes no difference!!
BUT what a blessing this dear man of God is to America, and through the internet those of us who are so far away. Muddling through life, and being helped and guided by this humble servant of our God. Indeed God Rich in mercy comes to help us. Thank you, dear Pastor teaching us at the beginning of another year…… God is at work

Oh pastor that line you can fossilize in Florida is hysterical. I live in ft Lauderdale, physically, but have never felt this is my home as I'm originally from N.J. . Ive lived in San Diego, Dallas, . I was chasing a dream of being a successful drummer while being married and having children. I served aboard a diesel submarine never feeling claustrophobic . That feeling came up on me when I moved to Dallas 🤔.. odd and very real in my young mind . There's much more in my journey in life but to summarize I think an underlying fear in me was the very statement you said about being fossilized, becoming stagnant in a sense. I couldn't be still. Having come to Jesus late in life , with a laundry list of sins both outwardly and inwardly, I've landed you might say on simply that I was fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image and I'm a Foreigner no matter where I live‼️ without knowing it I was longing to be in the presence of the LORD in the place He has prepared for me since the beginning of creation and BTW I won't be fossilized I will be more alive than I could possibly imagine, walking, talking and worshipping Jesus for all eternity. I love you pastor Alistair Begg and I'm so very thankful for your teaching of God's Word and your heart for your flock ‼️ may God continue to protect you and your family as you boldly speak His Truth. Anyone who has ears should listen 👂✝️❤️🎁🔥🔥🔥🤟🏖️

H, please reconsider to recant the advise to the Grandmother attending her Grandsons wedding. You have so much good teaching. We need you to continue strong in the Lord. We all need correction & alwayswill untilwe go home. ..please rethink your decision. It was so difficult for Justin Peters to share about this infraction, but vital for you your many followers. Thank you for listening.

C.S. Lewis’s “Screwtape Letters” was where that story comes from, is it not? So true, and we ignore the urgency of the gospel invitation.

Dear Paul, my heart goes out to you and your remaining family in your situation. Only a few of us reading these posts might be able to compare our circumstances to yours and the challenges your grief must present to you.
One thing is clear, however. God did not cause death to come into our world. We humans did.
God sent his Son to break the power of sin and death for us. His death and resurrection made it safe for his own children to die and enter his presence. God disables the destructiveness of death for those who die, but as your words indicate, the challenge of dealing with the loss remains for those who continue.
It is not uncommon for children to wonder why God took their parents away. In the household of believers, those parents are only hidden from view for a time, their griefs and troubles ended. But the children hava a bundle of questions and sorrows remaining.
But clearly, forgiving God is not an issue for you to wrestle with.
      God does no wrong.
Job tried to suggest that God had dealt with him unfairly. It was only after Job realised that he himself was in the wrong, that his situation altered.
Moses got angry with God and was chastened for it.
Jonah was disgusted that God wanted to show mercy to a sinful nation. You know the disciplines that stubborn man suffered.
Balaam wanted to oppose God's mercy towards Judah. God made his donkey look smarter than he was.
The thing to do is to ask God for understanding, to take note of his goodness and his promises, and to thank him for the good things you enjoyed through your parents' presence and love.
Ask God to refresh your memories and give you an ability to reflect on the blessings he gave. Perhaps many children today would have wished to have had prents like yours and sadly, did not.
We live in a broken world. There is so much hurt, I cherish three things:
      1. God who sent his Son for us is kind, not careless. [1 Peter 5:7]
      2. He breaks through the destructive power of evil to bring what is good for his people because of who he is, the Saviour and heavenly Father of all who trust him [Genesis 50:20, Roms 8:28]
      3. God uses grief to wrestle our attention away from worldly behaviour and solutions. Jesus said, 'Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.' [Matt 5:4.] Solomon knew something about sadness too. With apparent perversity, he observed . .
'It is better to go to a house of mourning
than to go to a house of feasting,
      for death is the destiny of everyone;
the living should take this to heart. [Eccl 7:2]
Comfort, success and apparent 'good fortune' can bring great damage to us, providing us with ready access to pride and self-indulgence [Luke 12]. But when reduced by grief and dismay we search more deeply for the things that really matter - eternal things that strengthen us for now and in the future.
Think. Even Jesus 'learned obedience through what he suffered and offered up prayers to God the Father with loud cries and tears...' [Hebrews 5:7-8.] It is likely that Jesus' own father died after he passed the age of twelve.
The Lord himself did not escape grief as a young person, and far worse was to come.
These things may seem totally bleak, but they are not.
Certainly, Jesus wept. But he thrilled with joy too. [Luke 10:21]
It is important for you and me to follow his way. He is our Shepherd. He knows your grief and will not leave you to be dominated by it. He brings us through testing and to green pasture and refreshing streams.
And this is a totally honest way.
Confronted by his own approaching death Jesus prayed from Psalm 22 [see Mark 15:34]. He described his feelings of anguish and abandonement. Yes, certainly, Isaiah had written that he, the Messiah, would see the light of life and be satisfied. But, even knowing this, in the midst of his sorrow and sufferings Jesus needed to cry out to the Father about the real matters afflicting his heart while they were happening. There is no smug confidence in him at all.
We too must be open with God about our hurt. Put it into words. It gets our head right. It pours out our heart to God, and it stills the whispering lie that urges us to blame God. Instead we cherish Him and journey through to the fulfilment of His promises.
The outcome for God's people is not defeat and sorrow. These things we merel pass through, as did Jesus.
God has chosen to use the ugly, brokenness of the world for our deliverance. Only a totally awesome God could manage that. Only a totally loving Saviour would submit to it!
If there were an easier way, he would have done it.
I suggest you speak to God as plainly of your hurt, confusion and dismay as the Psalmist does in Ps 22, as Jesus did on the cross. Ask Him to be your refuge and show you the way.
God bless you and yours. I trust that you are already a part of the Bible-trusting church.
Forgive any clumsiness in my words above. I do not know your exact circumstances.
      Ken Brown PCV, Melbourne Aus.

if you make a law out of this you have set yourself up for AGONY and BIG TROUBLE
the effort itself is to forsake christ for the Law and is in fact TOTALITARIAN , especially if you have the brains to take such an idea consistently
being as carnal minded as I am the attempt to "think christianly" in my own life has been UTTER DISASTER.
and i am pretty sure i am not the only sinner in the church
rather than reflecting on "what we believe" trying seeking the lord the Spirit to be brought into conviction of our unbelief, for if we take a close look at our own lives we will see that is what our own lives indiciate
