Most of the times we are our own biggest problem, we proclaim that we serve God with all of out heart and love our neighbour as our self but yet if things do not go our way we question God and judge our fellow man. At times when I look within to myself I realise with the help of God that I am my own biggest problem. The love of God makes me overcome my own self, thank you JESUS.🙌🙌

I've had a couple of great pastors in my life, not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I've had a couple that had no idea how to live, love or lead... including my own husband, a pastor, who abused me and our children. There remaineth three things...faith hope and love, and the greatest of these is love. Only One was perfect. They crucified Him. Take heart. In the end, there will be a crown of righteousness, not because WE were or are, but because He IS. God bless. Don't quit unless He tells you to. Stand strong. Endure hardship. Love Christ and follow the best you know how. He knows your heart. It's not so much WHAT we say, but what HE says. Preach the Word. Be instant in and out of season. Jesus loves you, cares for you, guides you, forgives you, and will bless beyond your ability. I remember telling my pastor, I loved what you said in your message about.... He looked confused and said, I never said that. It was what the Holy Spirit interjected in my heart while pastor was speaking. Trust God. He called you. He will use you in ways you never dreamed

The title caught me attention. I serve in Women’s ministry but when my son was killed unexpectedly although I continue to serve I can’t pretend that the happiness I once experienced in life has returned! I want to be an encourager I know God is still good! But I don’t know how useful I am. Thank you for all you do!
Your faithful service in your trials encourages others, even if you don't see it. No matter how you feel, God is still faithful and won't leave you in this dark time. May His tender love encourage you!
God gives us the sabbath, rest to the weary, and comfort to those who mourn. Expectations (real or imagined, from ourselves or others) of being able to bounce back to a former level of service or feeling is not God-given. I would argue that it's inherently worldly. When profound events take place in our lives, we are profoundly changed by them. Much as we might like to, we simply can't go back to the state we were in before the event occurred. What we can do is to receive God's peace, his comfort, his provision and bring our tears and needs to him and let him tend to us as a shepherd does to his most fragile lambs. We can run and hide and God will still find us and speak tenderly to us just like he did for Elijah in the desert. We then allow him to minister to the broken and hurting places knowing that our times are in his hands and not the schedule of mankind. Then we allow him to lead us back to where he wants us to be. Your grief is something that he can use to help you to better minister to women, for who knows grief so great as the mother who loses a child? Your ashes will be made beauty again, it just takes time.
I'm retired now. I used to listen to Alistair on Moody radio during my hour long drive to and from work. He was so very comforting and made my days so much better. God has richly blessed him
The most that comes out of listening to this storyteller is getting entertained with a laugh here and there , but no soul being converted out of death into Life in Christ. The whole structure of today,s christianity must be terminated. There were no sermons at all like this man does in first century church. No one comes to repentence listening to dead soul!
@@garygiff2024 This was a talk/spreach to ministers, not to convert but to encourage and edify. It hit the mark. It did what it was supposed to do. The Word of God will not come back without effect. These ministers didn't need a homily, they needed exactly what was given. I'm sure many went home uplifted, emboldened, soothed and more importantly, reminded they are not alone.

You can hear a pin drop in the room when the power of God comes through this man in the most gentle way. That’s the Father in a nutshell. All power of the universe given though a sunflower. How can we comprehend him? Father all glory to you, forgive us of our unbelief and doubt.
This sermon helped me immensely a couple years ago while my life was turned upside down. Today I face a new set of challenges and this sermon popped up, only now I can see it clearer. The Lord is my shepherd and I am a sheep who seems to stray. Thank you Mr Begg, and thanks be to God for giving us a solution to every problem we face.

I am currently experiencing a tough situation and doing everything I can to hang on. It is a long story, but I am seriously struggling. I am worshiping, praising, praying, believing, trusting, fasting, and keeping my faith. I meditate on God's word day and night. I know that God is good and that nothing is impossible for Him. I am in dire need of financial miracle with what appears to be no help in sight. I am 64 and on a tight income and about to lose my home. I am on the verge of giving up and just walking away because nothing seems to go right. I am reminded of Elija and the widow woman that had enough oil and flour to make 2 cakes to eat and then die.

Whatever happens, know that God knows and cares. Sometimes, God allows things to push us to where we need to be. When the storm passes, we realize that it was all by His design. I've lost a lot over the years, but I've never been lost to Him. Sometimes we have to let go of what we have for God to give us what we need. He has something for us, but if our hands are full of what we're hanging on to, we can't accept what he wants to hand us. Trust Him. Jeremiah 29, verse 11 says, I know the plans I have for you...and He does know and cares. Keep listening and trusting. He's in the storm with you.
I am very encouraged by the fear and anxiety that even the Disciples felt and what they did to be encouraged. We are human, and we will feel these things, but it is who we turn to that is the most important part. We must turn to God and pray to him.

This was a fantastic lesson that applies to every christian. It is a stark reminder that we should pray for our pastors/shepherds/individuals in the church leadership, leaders of small groups etc. Their struggles are real and could threaten the survival of the very mission to which they were called but thanks to the promise in 1 Peter 5:10 "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast". "Halellujah, glory to God" is my response.🙏🏿

I was thinking exactly this as a mom who homeschools 2 kids and tries to teach them God's Word. There are days it is very rough and depression is real, as are intrusive fearful thoughts. So many doubts and questions arise "Am I doing enough?" "Am I truly a child of God?" It's hard...I have used these trying times to cry out to God and seek His face. I pray I never give up or go mad. There's a song by Andrew Peterson "Peace, Be Still" its excellent - he mentions a poem in his concert at Keswick "Planting Seeds - inevitably changes my mind...about the rain". There are seasons of rain and drough and harvest...praying for us all during these dark seasons 🙏
What serious Christian doesn't love Alistair Begg? He's a wonderful orator, and a brilliant Biblical scholar. What else can make Bible study more engaging in any pastor? He truly is an American treasure.

As a pastor, when I finally figured out that I only answer to 1 person, God, it brought me great peace. As things went hard or wrong, the sooner I remembered that the easier it was to not be dragged down by the adversaries. I highly recommend "Unoffendable" by Brant Hansen to help with this. Thank you for your reply a yr ago. 6 months ago my daughter discarded my husband, myself, our tiny dog which my grandson calls his own since he could talk. Miss my grandson oh so deeply. He has been made to mourn me so I have been told. That is truly cruelty to a child. I know the Lord knows the suffering and pain that has been caused. I have heard she also tossed her then boyfriend who only added to her issues, as well as the many fights they had with another. I love her and as long as I have breath I will fight on my knees in prayer for her. Satan is a thief. I know how my daughter slanders and how she demeans. I pray God brings her to humility, true repentance and unto Salvation in Lord Jesus. I learned very recently that my background check was compromised. The government agencies have contacted me. The penalty is heavy for doing such things. God has His timing and His way of revealing things. Since my daughter's discard I have had time to help abused children and love being able to do so. If I did not have this time I may not have known that someone breached the system with a false heinous charge. No weapon formed against shall prosper. Amen I believe Satan tried using a false charge against me, but those who surround my work with children have reported the false charge and the breach of government agency. This is not in my power to call an investigation off that has begun ....I have been advised anyone connected to the person who did this, in any way will also be investigated. I had no idea how deep cyber crime can truly be and the conspiracy charges even if someone did not actually put the false information in themselves they will be charged. I am grateful for the letters of law enforcement and court clerks offices, stating the charge is false. I remain in prayer 🙏

Thank you for this topic....I found your channel here on TH-cam back in 2020....when I was struggling more than I ever had before in my life....I would listen to your sermons back to back, & I ended up replacing my usual mix of daily videos of things that do nothing but distract me from having to actually look at myself...& it was a slow process at first, I would listen to a sermon and then go back and watch someone play a video game I've already played a thousand times....and I realized, learning more about God was so much better then just distracting myself from myself....well, I was on fire for God, but after a while, something happened, I slipped back, and I ended up sleeping most of each day , and many months went by before I knew it....and I had forgotten all about this channel....well, here I am tonight, struggling much worse then I was the first time I found you...and I suddenly scrolled down to see this video recommended to me..... God is truly a loving, merciful beyond all reason, because I don't even deserve love like that, but He didn't forget me.....thank you so much for your wisdom , Alistair. I'm glad to be back in your flock.
Alistair is wonderful . I think it's a combination of many things. I hope you feel better. I suffer from DEPRESSION. It is a comfort to know that many FAMOUS people suffered from it! To me, at least. Anyway, Lincoln, Churchill,, Teddy Roosevelt AND Eleanor, plus Spurgeon, Luther! On and on. And of course Elijah, Job, as well as Jeremiah. Anyway God bless you. I hope you get this. All I want to do is sleep. I do not believe I have clinical depression. I think it's situational. Im sorry you have gone through that. But its so lonely with no family or friends and a hubby that works all the time and is pain and goes right to bed and on weekends he either watches TV. Listens to videos or spends the weekend in bed from pain. I have the same pain, possibly worse because there is no way I could work. But he is so quiet and down now. 20 years ago we laughed a lot. He can be very snippy when he hurts and I tell him I'm not snippy with him, uts all about attitude. He says thats fine for me but he can't do it. Im not happy. There's so much more to it. Im trying to get back to sleeping properly and get back in the bible. Please pray for us. I pray you can stay with Begg but check every man's preaching and check it against the word. My favorite preacher since 1994 has lost me for teaching you can take the mark and still be saved. That's not what my Bible says. He was like the dad I never had. I cried. I listen a little once in a blue moon but its not total trust anymore. We can only trust in our Heavenly Father 100^%. Im glad you found your way back. I hope some day I will have something to laugh about . All I look forward to now is Heaven. And sometimes question my salvation. Right now I plan to sit Begg on my bedside table and try to go back to sleep. Nothing to get up for.

2 things that are blessing me while I watch this: 1) Men only in the audience as Pastors and Elders (I just don't see in scripture where there is place AND precedent for women as lead pastors). Pastor Alistair,….Somewhere between the 14th and 18th minutes of this video I closed my eyes and envisioned giving you a tender and affirming hug as I listened to you talking about your emotions and feelings, and wanting to melt into the pavement from despair. I can’t ‘make’ it so, but I would gladly take some of your burdens if only to free your spirit from the abyss of ‘down-ness’ during those times. You are a precious part of the Church body,…so precious! Forgiveness: Something that has helped me tremendously with forgiveness, is when I am grumbling, or struggling, even crying from the pain of a wound from someone I care about and not able to forgive, I do this: I mentally go kneel at the foot of the cross and look up at my Savior, the only innocent man to have ever lived on this earth, dying a horrible death - and forgiving my sins. All of them. Past, present and future. When I mentally get up from that thought, and look again at what I couldn't forgive, I suddenly can't help but forgive. If the perfect and holy Son of GOD can forgive me from His unfathomable cross and forgive me all my sins, how on earth can I hold resentment against any one of my fellow wretches? (We're all wretches here.) That makes forgiveness of the worst harms almost instantaneous for me.
I notice so much quiet people who can't really say that they are hurting . They haven't really understood the Holy Spirit however,I fo remember Pastor Alistair Begg preaching compassionate good news that Helped me to be confident that God is Love and sent His Only Begotten Son in the form of a servant Saviour Jesus called Christ .Thanking our LORD for you Pastor Begg ,good to see you active .

Thanks for your honesty. I work as a minister in the mission field. The struggles and ups and downs are something like I've never experienced before. They are normal in the ministry, but what's important is what we do with them. Give it over - look up from where your help comes.

I remember telling my pastor, I loved what you said in your message about.... He looked confused and said, I never said that. It was what the Holy Spirit interjected in my heart while pastor was speaking. Trust God. He called you. He will use you in ways you never dreamed

God gives us the sabbath, rest to the weary, and comfort to those who mourn. Expectations (real or imagined, from ourselves or others) of being able to bounce back to a former level of service or feeling is not God-given. I would argue that it's inherently worldly.
When profound events take place in our lives, we are profoundly changed by them. Much as we might like to, we simply can't go back to the state we were in before the event occurred. What we can do is to receive God's peace, his comfort, his provision and bring our tears and needs to him and let him tend to us as a shepherd does to his most fragile lambs. We can run and hide and God will still find us and speak tenderly to us just like he did for Elijah in the desert. We then allow him to minister to the broken and hurting places knowing that our times are in his hands and not the schedule of mankind.
Then we allow him to lead us back to where he wants us to be. Your grief is something that he can use to help you to better minister to women, for who knows grief so great as the mother who loses a child? Your ashes will be made beauty again, it just takes time.
It does that,the death of a love one can be so devasting to our minds.

The most that comes out of listening to this storyteller is getting entertained with a laugh here and there , but no soul being converted out of death into Life in Christ. The whole structure of today,s christianity must be terminated. There were no sermons at all like this man does in first century church. No one comes to repentence listening to dead soul!

talk/spreach to ministers, not to convert but to encourage and edify. It hit the mark. It did what it was supposed to do. The Word of God will not come back without effect. These ministers didn't need a homily, they needed exactly what was given.

Yes , and they all go back home more dead than when they signed in continuing status quo. Status quo is the broad way through the gates of hell. The devil keeps these ( ministers ) to himself as long as they refuse to set all this aside and secretly seek out the face of God in Heaven!
Oh God, please strengthen Pastor Begg as he runs his race. Thank you for our brother. We love him and ask that you give him peace on Sunday nights. Please rebuke the enemy on his behalf and heal his fear and anxiety. Lead him beside still waters and prepare a table before him in the presence of his enemies. I am currently experiencing a tough situation and doing everything I can to hang on. It is a long story, but I am seriously struggling. I am worshiping, praising, praying, believing, trusting, fasting, and keeping my faith. I meditate on God's word day and night. I know that God is good and that nothing is impossible for Him. I am in dire need of financial miracle with what appears to be no help in sight. I am 64 and on a tight income and about to lose my home. I am on the verge of giving up and just walking away because nothing seems to go right.
I am reminded of Elija and the widow woman that had enough oil and flour to make 2 cakes to eat and then die.

Whatever happens, know that God knows and cares. Sometimes, God allows things to push us to where we need to be. When the storm passes, we realize that it was all by His design. I've lost a lot over the years, but I've never been lost to Him. Sometimes we have to let go of what we have for God to give us what we need. He has something for us, but if our hands are full of what we're hanging on to, we can't accept what he wants to hand us. Trust Him. Jeremiah 29, verse 11 says, I know the plans I have for you...and He does know and cares. Keep listening and trusting. He's in the storm with you.

This was a fantastic lesson that applies to every christian. It is a stark reminder that we should pray for our pastors/shepherds/individuals in the church leadership, leaders of small groups etc. Their struggles are real and could threaten the survival of the very mission to which they were called but thanks to the promise in 1 Peter 5:10 "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast". "Halellujah, glory to God" is my response.🙏🏿

I was thinking exactly this as a mom who homeschools 2 kids and tries to teach them God's Word. There are days it is very rough and depression is real, as are intrusive fearful thoughts. So many doubts and questions arise "Am I doing enough?" "Am I truly a child of God?" It's hard...I have used these trying times to cry out to God and seek His face. I pray I never give up or go mad. There's a song by Andrew Peterson "Peace, Be Still" its excellent - he mentions a poem in his concert at Keswick "Planting Seeds - inevitably changes my mind...about the rain". There are seasons of rain and drough and harvest...praying for us all during these dark seasons 🙏
Covid took my mother and ruined my finances. If I become homeless I won't be hanging on anymore. I need a miracle dear Lord.

As a pastor, when I finally figured out that I only answer to 1 person, God, it brought me great peace. As things went hard or wrong, the sooner I remembered that the easier it was to not be dragged down by the adversaries. I highly recommend "Unoffendable" by Brant Hansen to help with this. 6 months ago my daughter discarded my husband, myself, our tiny dog which my grandson calls his own since he could talk. Miss my grandson oh so deeply.
He has been made to mourn me so I have been told.
That is truly cruelty to a child.
I know the Lord knows the suffering and pain that has been caused.
I have heard she also tossed her then boyfriend who only added to her issues, as well as the many fights they had with another.
I love her and as long as I have breath I will fight on my knees in prayer for her.
Satan is a thief. I know how my daughter slanders and how she demeans.
I pray God brings her to humility, true repentance and unto Salvation in Lord Jesus.
I learned very recently that my background check was compromised.
The government agencies have contacted me.
The penalty is heavy for doing such things.
God has His timing and His way of revealing things.
Since my daughter's discard I have had time to help abused children and love being able to do so.
If I did not have this time I may not have known that someone breached the system with a false heinous charge.
No weapon formed against shall prosper. Amen
I believe Satan tried using a false charge against me, but those who surround my work with children have reported the false charge and the breach of government agency.
This is not in my power to call an investigation off that has begun ....I have been advised anyone connected to the person who did this, in any way will also be investigated. I had no idea how deep cyber crime can truly be and the conspiracy charges even if someone did not actually put the false information in themselves they will be charged.
I am grateful for the letters of law enforcement and court clerks offices, stating the charge is false.

Thank you for this topic....I found your channel here on TH-cam back in 2020....when I was struggling more than I ever had before in my life....I would listen to your sermons back to back, & I ended up replacing my usual mix of daily videos of things that do nothing but distract me from having to actually look at myself...& it was a slow process at first, I would listen to a sermon and then go back and watch someone play a video game I've already played a thousand times....and I realized, learning more about God was so much better then just distracting myself from myself....well, I was on fire for God, but after a while, something happened, I slipped back, and I ended up sleeping most of each day , and many months went by before I knew it....and I had forgotten all about this channel....well, here I am tonight, struggling much worse then I was the first time I found you...and I suddenly scrolled down to see this video recommended to me..... God is truly a loving, merciful beyond all reason, because I don't even deserve love like that, but He didn't forget me.....thank you so much for your wisdom , Alistair. I'm glad to be back in your flock.
Alistair is wonderful . I think it's a combination of many things. I hope you feel better. I suffer from DEPRESSION. It is a comfort to know that many FAMOUS people suffered from it! To me, at least. It takes a lot of courage to give a open testimony. God has not given up on you and you are the proof of that. We all struggle and we all slip. Getting back is the only thing that matters
I hope you get this. All I want to do is sleep. I do not believe I have clinical depression. I think it's situational. Im sorry you have gone through that. But its so lonely with no family or friends and a hubby that works all the time and is pain and goes right to bed and on weekends he either watches TV. Listens to videos or spends the weekend in bed from pain. I have the same pain, possibly worse because there is no way I could work. But he is so quiet and down now. 20 years ago we laughed a lot. He can be very snippy when he hurts and I tell him I'm not snippy with him, uts all about attitude. He says thats fine for me but he can't do it. Im not happy. There's so much more to it. Im trying to get back to sleeping properly and get back in the bible. Please pray for us. I pray you can stay with Begg but check every man's preaching and check it against the word. My favorite preacher since 1994 has lost me for teaching you can take the mark and still be saved. That's not what my Bible says. He was like the dad I never had. I cried. I listen a little once in a blue moon but its not total trust anymore. We can only trust in our Heavenly Father 100^%. Im glad you found your way back. I hope some day I will have something to laugh about . All I look forward to now is Heaven. And sometimes question my salvation. Right now I plan to sit Begg on my bedside table and try to go back to sleep. Nothing to get up for.

He is of catholic theology so no good will come from absorbing what he is teaching cause he will mislead you however good attention it might be.
2 things that are blessing me while I watch this:
1) Men only in the audience as Pastors and Elders (I just don't see in scripture where there is place AND precedent for women as lead pastors). Thank God for good men and women finding support and community in the body of Christ.
2) Pastor Begg is wonderful and quirky. Great sense of humor and lots of fun.

An amazing and Timely message in the day and age we live in. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and humility with us, but especially God's love for us.
Forgiveness:
Something that has helped me tremendously with forgiveness, is when I am grumbling, or struggling, even crying from the pain of a wound from someone I care about and not able to forgive, I do this:
I mentally go kneel at the foot of the cross and look up at my Savior, the only innocent man to have ever lived on this earth, dying a horrible death - and forgiving my sins. All of them. Past, present and future.
When I mentally get up from that thought, and look again at what I couldn't forgive, I suddenly can't help but forgive. If the perfect and holy Son of GOD can forgive me from His unfathomable cross and forgive me all my sins, how on earth can I hold resentment against any one of my fellow wretches? (We're all wretches here.)
That makes forgiveness of the worst harms almost instantaneous for me.
Yes, I say it and let my emotions catch up to what I'm declaring. You are my brother in Christ.
Thank you for reminding us of our own personal responsibility… we get in our own way. Praise God our Savior.
