    Such a nice video Kaye. Doug and Stacy are awesome. They are living the life most dream of. They are my go to when it comes to offgrid living. They provide a wealth of information even for beginners with easy to do instructions on being sustainable. So happy you were able to visit with them. I'm sure you will never forget the blessing. Thank you! I look forward to this series.

      Thank you! I'm working on Part 2 now. I did not, in fact, do a series of short videos, as I thought I would when I said that, there will be three total parts and they aren't short, haha. Thanks for coming along for the ride!

      OldAlabamaGardener Thanks, Charles! You are certainly doing all you can in your place. One of these days I’ll get my last video edited. The broken arm and then the play got me very behind. But I’m committed.

    Stacy is so right when she says we are all surrounded by so much food that's growing all on its own! I enjoy my Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) leaves in the spring and early summer, and the flowers until they are all gone. Gardeners can learn their wild plants pretty easily, because they are already used to noticing differences between plants, even from one variety to another. So telling one species from another seems easy by comparison! It looks like you had a great visit, with lots of good food and friendship!

      Haphazard Homestead Yes! It was life-changing. And one of my viewers offered to send me rose of Sharon and now I can’t remember who it was. At the time I was only thinking of where in the world would I put it? I didn’t realize I could eat the flowers. Thanks for watching!!

    Your video was great Kaye. Doug and Stacy are a wealth of information when it comes to living off the grid. What an amazing couple who are living the life they love and like to help and teach others about homesteading. I am so glad you were able to spend a few days with them. :-)

    👍 young & strong, their accomplishments are many... Nuggets galore. At 60 life continues to change, that's more reason to appreciate all they do. Cute in cowgirl hat 👒

      Yes, wind was blowing 35-45 mph and I forgot my own hat, so Stacy lent me hers. Note to self: get cowgirl hat! Thanks for watching!

      Angela Burnett-Mero This was the perfect trip at the perfect time. Doug and Stacy have an amazing attitude and work seamlessly as a team to make their homestead all that it is and can be. I learned a lot!

    Good video! As an old country girl some things bring back memories, we didn't live off the grid but the self sufficiency is the same. Kudos to Doug and Stacy. The Sweet Annie is making the rounds these days with you Kaye. Many people make sweet annie wreaths in the fall besides using them in salves.

    So happy to see this today! I’d come across them a few times, heard about them from other TH-camrs in the movement, but finally subscribed after watching their video w/you. It’s nice to learn even more about them thru your eyes. I’d be in heaven w/the kittens, dog & horses! Looking forward to getting to know them better here, while also enjoying the content on their channel. You always have a knack for capturing the very essence of someone’s spirit! It’s gonna be another fantastic “mini series”! Wishing you a lovely Sunday ❤️

      Very mini, Nia, as when editing, I realized I should organize by day, and Day 1 was the biggie. I'll probably combine 2 & 3, working on that today. I couldn't do without your support! Thank you!

    • @Latebloomershow
      @Latebloomershow  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      shashakeeleh Thanks so much and thanks for asking about my arm. It feels pretty strong. My insurance ran out so I had to stop physical therapy which I wanted to keep doing because I’m not so good at doing it myself. But the only time it’s feels sore or weak is when I reach backwards, and lifting and pushing is not too bad but I would not dare lift the kind of weight that I used to before I broke it.

      She was just getting into that and we got sidetracked. Recently, Dinora and I cleaned out the pantry and I found the bag in the back with one small piece in it. Have to decide how to best use it. She was talking about grinding it up into powder, and I forgot the rest.

    • @Latebloomershow

      Ha, ha, Larry, I remembered to pack everything except my hat. I always take a hat and as soon as I got there the wind was blowing so bad I had to put something on my head to keep my hair out of my face and Stacy gave me her cute hat to wear. So that’s her cute hat. I’ll have to look for something similar for my urban homestead. 😊 Thanks for watching!
