Dad must be proud! Energy is on tap, and the flow is fun. Can't help but laugh - the crowds passing by are missing a magical opppurtunity to dance it out. Great.
Overall, the band sounds good but the lead vocalist's mice isn't loud enough. You 'd think they'd be concerned about that given that they're playing at the fabled "Terrapin Crossroads". Mostly they did a good job but I guess in keeping with tradition you can't help but screw up somewhere or another. The Dead very often did that and we could always forgive them and let it slide since "The Grateful Dead" technically is more than the band, or the music but the experience. Now that would take some Being for a band to provide that sort of environment. So, where am I going with this. Well, I'm just going to say.......Far Out! and thank you for all of you Grateful Dead tribute bands for keeping this treasure we all hold so dear to our hearts alive.
Check out the names of the musicians in the description. If you're a dead fan I think you're going to recognize some of them. This is more than just a tribute band this is the next generation.
Mic levels are notoriously tricky in a small room, because you can't just increase the gain forever to stay on top of the instruments - in particular the drum kit. Long before the other instruments, the mics are going to pick up feedback, so you have no choice but to stay below that level. The other solution is voice training. But everyone has their limit. Suzanne Vega has asthma, so she ends up singing very soft and close to the mic, and everything else levels to that. I'm no sound engineer, and therefore I know lots about how to do this badly. It's impressive to hear it done well. They make it look easy. It's not.
Song starts at 3:30 for those of you who don't want to hear the pre-noodling...:))
You're a real hero.
deweypug some of the best times in life have happened during the pre noodling.
Thanks!
The noodling is awesome!
Phenomenal version of one of my favorites from the dead. Great playing guys

Derens solo has a lot of resemblance to Jerrys Style. His picking is fucking dope
I agree...sick little runs
Where are they playing?
I believe it was somewhere in San Francisco, unfortunately I think the venue where they had performed had closed down
Is this or are there former members of The Giving Tree Band here?
fabulous guitar work by Derek. That was better than most of Jerry's BEWs. I enjoyed the noodling/tuning at the beginning.
Cecil Gibson Ok, Deren not Derek. Thanks for the info Cecil. I'm looking them up right now.
two things: need more tuning & more guitars
Jesus Christ play the fucking song already
