This has been one of my absolute favorite covers of any song for years now. I'll just pull it up when I'm in a funk or just want to feel a burst of... something. Just absolutely astounding.
w/o a doubt, this is the best rendition of this song (outside of the Dead)! I wish the band was still intact - Phil and Woody are both amazing musicians! Either way, you guys are still an awesome band!
I never thought I would see the Dead's music performed live again after Jerry's passing. However I was wrong thanks to Furthur, DSO & The Giving Tree Band! Great version of a great song. Thanks for keeping the memories alive!
How could anyone dislike this video? It's simply amazing. It encapsulates the talent, style and peacefulness of TGTB, which are just a few of their amazingly unique traits. This band is going places....anyone agree? Can't wait for El Vacilador, guys! Yo estaba vacilando por España hace un mes en honrar de su disco compacto, pero vamos a ver el nivel del éxito tendrán!
I like the arrangement, instrumentation, and the whole vibe of Giving Tree's take on this great Hunter/Garcia tune. You guys made one old Dead Head happy! Keep up the good work.
Outstanding!! One of the best so far. Just jumped to the top of favs from this project. Perfect blend of electric and acoustic. Kinda reminds me little bit of The Band. Great singing, love your voice. Everyone sounds just great. Again just awesome. Very Well Done!!!
You guys have became a new favorite in my collection! All the videos and even the Facebook posts just make you guys all the better! Not to mention I love the band name... I just became an agent with Giving Tree Realty... I'd love to know the reason behind the band name for you guys. The stories in your songs make me wish I never quit trying to be a singer songwriter years ago... There is such magic in the process... You guys do something special... Keep on doing it... Don't change a thing! Cheers from NC!
One of the best of the covers! So much heart in this performance, and what a nice collection of traditional instruments. Doncha think Jer is smiling big time right about now. And for those of us still kicking, it sure looks like maybe this music is going to be around for a long time to come.
I really just wanted to hear what a band named after the BEST book ever sounded like. The song is incredible..,These guys NAILED IT !! Kept the Power, and the Banjo just feels so right.., Tight version Dudes, and You may continue to represent the BEST BOOK EVER...!!!
Right on, in fact I took a video of them singing I Shall Be Released a few nights ago which I will post later today to prove your statement true. Uncanny resemblances in that they write their own music and live together in a big house when they aren't on the road, which isn't often. Phil, their guitar player will laugh if he ever reads this. He's really a gracious guy with a good sense of humor.
NIcely done. Dare I say, even be better than the original versions by the Dead. It's hard to tell, my memory is fading with the years. But I like this version.
Still coming to listen to this.

yes- the banjo is great. One of my favorite GD songs
The banjo and pedal steel really do something for the song-Jerry and Bob Hunter would be proud!
Seamus
The spirit of The Band Lives On. Hallelujah.

Aw no this band broke up? Wow it’s been so long since I’ve listened to this
that intro is so fucking beautiful..
Not saying it's not good. It's damn good. But go listen to "Wait so Long" by Trampled by Turtles...
Seldom does any one improve on a true classic, but this is surely one of those times. Very well done.
Love these guys. Phil is the coolest
They can sing , they can play. The song's integrity remains intact while presented in a new, unique and flavorful light.
well done guys
This is seriously one of the best cover songs I have ever heard. GREAT job!
Can't wait to see these guys at ROMP June 27-29th in Owensboro, KY.
I never thought I would see the Dead's music performed live again after Jerry's passing.

As soon as the 1st verse kicked in, I let out a yelp. Great work guys, maybe my favorite of the entire dead covers project thus far!!!
Oh hell yes! Outstanding!
Who are you, where'd you come from? It was, in my opinion, a perfect balance of the tradition in your own style. Well done boys!
Wow! I made the same comment about Levon and Warren seconds ago on Facebook. I just found this band and I'm really stoked.
Wish I could "like" this 50 more times. Great stuff.

Seen them live several times. They get better and better than fine wine
I imagine that this is what the song would sound like if it was done by The Band. Great job fellas!
Really melodic musicians.
In my opinion the best version of the song! Keep it up
What an awesome version of that song! Three Cheers!
