You guys are too young to get the obvious connection with Hayley Mills and The Parent TRAP. With Shyamalan, "there are no coincidences" and this is very intentional - he's a twin, just like in Mills movie.
The Visit scared the absolute shit out of me.

Trap seems like a Thriller to me, not a horror.

3 plot twists
1: his daughter is actually dead. he wears her friendship bracelet, which is the same color as her clothes.
2: he is not the butcher. the butcher killed his daughter after they abducted her from a concert.
3: he is hunting the butcher down before the cops get to them. the guy thats imprisoned knows who it was
With the name The Butcher in the film I bet the movie is connected to the unbreakable universe
M Night gets a lot of bad rep in the world of movies, but I’m optimistic about this movie.

I think the twist is the guy he captured is the serial killer and he’s getting revenge on the guy who killed his wife
In the initial trailer that is literally given away so either it's a classic tale of the trailer giving away the whole plot, or the trailer is lying to us to preserve the actual twist.

I googled critic review into Google and got results saying positive reviews so I'm slightly confused where that came from if no critic showings?
Loglegs was such a big let down. No decent original horror movie has come out in about a decade. Also, I really hate how twists are just given out in trailers. I would much prefer the trailer gives a premise, but didn’t give away the twist, especially when you don’t know the story. At this point, it’s purely sensationalism.
Have you seen any of the following? I disagree that there hasn’t been a good horror movie in a decade:

M.Night took the absolutely wrong message from the success of The Sixth Sense. Instead of everything else that made it work, he made it to where the first thing anyone thinks about is "What bad/predictable twist will happen?"
And looooove that there’s no twist here. A good cat and mouse thriller! Josh Hartnett doesn’t take on roles that don’t challenge him!
My guess is the twist will be that the trap was set by Hartnett for the cops and he leaked his own location. Otherwise how could they have a tip on his location without anyone having a clue who he is.
Good twist would be that Hartnett just plays kind of a profiler that is very into his task of getting the butcher, while a bad twist would be that everything is staged or makes no sense like in The Happening.

The Lady in the Water is an excellent, tragically misunderstood and underappreciated film.
It's not a twist, it's a plot device. And this isn't the first time m. night hasn't screened his movies for critics
M. Is know for twist in every film So Warner Brothers are protecting the twist to have the movie make as more money as possible. Twist is his trademark in every movie every time. Why spoil it?
Just watched the movie. Nothing crazy but pretty good! Don't watch it for twists. There really isn't one. It's mostly self explanatory. It's a good time

The 'Trap' trailer is a trap. I saw this last night and it's pure garbage. Essentially, it's a vehicle for M Night's daughter's music career. The plot relies on a whole lot of contrivance and the less-than-thrilling twists make no sense at all.
Shaymalan is a hack. He does not deserve the trust or notoriety he seems to get.

What about the movie Signs? I recommend you see that. I felt it was a great movie. It really touches you in a solemn way despite the horror content. M Night should be appreciated for his unique approach to movies. He is one of the greatest
Critics are biased. They probably don't want the audience experience to be ruined by bad reviews that are skewed.
As it is shamàham we expect a rug pull. I'd say the avoiding of critics is because they will spoil it. Personally my bet is the kid is the butcher and Daddy is just protecting the daughter or unseen wife. It's also a vehicle flick to promote shamalan's daughter who's playing the concert singer.

The feds lining up outside a stadium to catch a serial killer is cartoonosh. That's about the last way to catch a criminal. This movie has cringe written all ovee it.

I feel like Night could have used his daughter's music but used a different actor to do the concert. It just makes it appear as a promotional event for his daughter. Just a little. And I heard her acting wasn't great.
Im with Andrew im a big fan of Josh Hartnett and hes the main reason im going to see this movie.
Imagine being a dude loving your daughter so much you make a movie that spotlights her music then has her act in it while doing the soundtrack to the movie about a man who loves his daughter that much.

I just watched this. Mixed bag Night rides again. Parts of it were clever, but much of it is idiotic.
I actually thought the plot twist was well done. Not That obvious imo. 🤔 But it doesn’t mean that’s enough to make it a good or bad movie.
