  • Hi there! Today we're doing an in depth review and flip through on Beautiful Feet Books Around the World with Picture Books Part 1. I'm going to review a country from the course with the picture books that go along with it, give an overview of how each chapter works, and do a flip through of the coursebook. Lastly, I'll share my final thoughts and things I've observed with the course, as well as some tips for using the curriculum.

    Thank you so much for this. I have been obsessively trying to find the best history/geography curriculum and this seems to fit everything we need, and I had never heard of them before seeing them on your channel! (I was looking over Abeka level 1, My America, My World, Abeka Social Studies K5, Horizons Health, Lifepac History & Geography, Masterbooks My Story K, and probably missing some lol!) I just ordered the teacher guide and found the Maps book used. Also, per your advice to try and save money, for books I can't find at our library, we will watch read alouds on TH-cam. I was nervous to pull the trigger for next year with my (almost) 5 year old daughter because history is my least favorite subject and had no idea how I would teacher her with her 2 younger brothers (almost 3 and 1 year old) and picture books seem the best way to go so I could include them too. I also feel the same way about teaching Bible, (we do so as a family with my husband so I don't ever buy Bible curriculum,) and we will also glaze over the same thing you mentioned earlier. ;) Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful content. I feel so much better about my curriculum choices for next year. This, along with the Abeka Health, Safety, Manners 1 reader for some other social topics I wanted to cover, was my last decision I needed to make, and ALL your advice really helped! God bless! ❤

    Wow! Absolutely great review, thorough and clear.
    This looks perfect for my 8 year old daughter. We are in our 3rd year home educating. I didn’t do formal history/soc. Studies or geography for 1st and 2nd levels, we did workbooks that introduced the subject. I really think 5-7 year olds aren’t ready for a full on curriculum on those subjects at that age. I purposely waited for the 3rd level 8/9 yr old range to do a history. I purchased a history/Bible/geography curriculum that’s literature based, and my daughter is completely uninterested… Definitely, not yet ready for a history study, she enjoys somewhat the geography part of it. Learning about the country and placing on the map. Originally I skipped this course thinking it was too young but this sounds like my daughter, also I wanted to have Bible included… I just ordered it! Not the full set, I was able to find all the course books at my library except for one. I also purchased the Maps book through BFB. I watched all your videos on this series, did you purchased the complete set for either part or are you using most from the library? How easy have you found it using the library to do the course, if using mostly the library? Thank you! 🤎

      I think it depends on your library system! Ours is really great and has had like 95% of the books recommended. But depending where you live, some libraries don’t offer a great selection. There are a lot of these read aloud on TH-cam though, I’ve found!

    • @milaalvarez4629
      @milaalvarez4629 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thepracticalhomeschooler thank you for replying! I found all the books except for Anno’s China, and I ordered the Maps book since it’s regularly used in both parts. And, it’s a beautiful book about maps! I can’t resist that ☺️ They might not have books that expand on biblical history for the library connections, that’s one thing I have noticed about our library here… Have you regretted not buying the complete sets with all the books or certain books? I love to have all the books of all the things. Not good or affordable or minimal.
      I can’t wait to start it with my girl! I feel like I have failed her with history and that she’s missing on great information and learning. I love that this can be either a full year or 1 semester because we have the time for it yet I don’t feel like it’s just 1/2 year.
      Thank you again for sharing this wonderful review and the do a lesson with us.💗
