And it took the reality check that was this month with Blitzø for Stolas to really see beyond the rose-tinted glasses of his romantic side the consequences of his actions. Because he did choose; just because he's alive doesn't mean he didn't make his choice. He would have lost his daughter permanently but this way he is living to see it.
Even in this episode, he's goading Andy into killing him if he won't be able to see his daughter. He's again choosing a path that will separate him from Octavia forever.
From what I've heard, season three won't start until the end of this year at the earliest. More likely would be spring of next year. They have stated that they will be releasing additional Shorts throughout the time break.
There will be Helluva Boss shorts coming out during the hiatus. So, it's possible we might be seeing the 5th short come out within a few weeks from now, but I don't know for certain.
They did put a fun red herring in the scene by sliding the Angel statue into frame just before she threw up. It was just enough to leave me waffling until the full confirmation later.
A vast majority of the fanbase actually are hating this finale because they compare it more to a fanfiction rather than a genuine end to a season of a series that has enough merit to be one. (Honestly, I don't give a damn what the fanbase's opinions are; I have no real problem with how the first half of the series ended)
It doesn't help that Stella and Andy are gaslighting the crap out of Via. After that first time, she doesn't have access to her phone and the one time Stella slips up and mentions how her dad is constantly calling, Via has her headphones in.

This was such a great episode. Sucks that will have to wait a bit for season 3. At least will be getting some shorts in between then.
I think I can say with 90% certainty... season 3 won't be next week
