Hey, how you did? I tried to propagate my snake plant the same way in water. I can see one of the cutting has started showing root, and other cuttings are rotten. Even if I used the same method at the same time and kept in same place. I didn’t get it why my other cuttings got rotten. Can you please help? Thanks!

@@novee2961 hi I live in the UK, I water mine once a month, it's still in the original 4 inch pot and is about a 14 inches tall, water is room temp tap water 150ml, it's 3 years old.
I did this with a few leaves from my mom’s snake plant and it worked! It’s been potted for about 2 months now and little baby snake just popped through the soil today 🥰
I LOVE your PERSONALITY, & your CHANNEL. I LOVE plants, flowers, something new. a hack, cooking. whatever. You seem to come up with very cool ideas. Thank you.😎🌿🌱🌻🦋

My leaves start getting transparent at the bottom. I guess this method works not for all types of snake plants. Should I just leave it on a surface to let it dry for a couple days and then just plant it in a pot?

That’s how I started mine from a broken piece I found in the floor at Costco. I asked the manager if I could have it and he said yes. That was 1.5 years ago. After a month in water I planted the stalk with the roots. I’ve got multiple shoots coming up now.
Yeah, I was thinking this too. Have les of a chance of the bottom molding in the glass of water if you don’t change it out often. Plus roots like darkness. Just don’t over-saturate the soil!
Bro your video quality is too high, I hope you get success as I can see your channel is putting a lot of hardwork.

Guys how long does the plant grow roots?
In the 40's they called these mother in law tounges.
Yep! So confused when I saw its real name!
That's what my grandma always called them
I work at a greenhouse and they still go by both names at least in Michigan where I live.
We still called that in my place till this day lol. We call it "Lidah Mertua" (which the english translation was mother in law tongues)
So the name snake plants is very fitting

A lot of the variations revert to the common green coloring with leaf cuttings.

You don’t need to cut a v shape, if anything it can risk infection more
@@Sailorpiss So it is more preferred if I just cut off one leaf and put it in water than to cut a v shape and do the same thing?

Can I use a succulent soil to grow this plant?
This is called ‘Fragging’ and this is used for coral to regrow, never knew the same could happen with a plant!
It's just propagating
This was my project Thanks!
The way you explain is amazing 😄🎉
We call it a " MOTHER IN LAWS TONGUE "

Propagation is trial and error so please don't feel discouraged if the first few leaves do not start rooting
What does one do if the leaves are really long? The leaves of mine are all long and too long to fit in a jar.

The correct way to propagate this plant is by separating a smaller plant from the original and repotting it. It does not grow the same with a cutting.
If you don’t have a plant to separate it from then you can start your own this way from a piece broken off another one.
Can I re grow snake plants just by cutting it off the plant and re plant it with out roots?
I did this and it worked! Thanks so much 😊
Can I apply same technique to aloe vera? Will it work?
How long does it usually take to grow roots? Mine are on 3 weeks
It took mine forever to grow roots. Like a few months. Is there any other way to speed it up? Maybe the roots need darkness? Plant food?
Does it need calcifying after cutting? If so how long?
just a question how much time will it take the roots to show ? and also do we out the glass in sunlight ?

I have a question about this whole "plant cloning" thing.: How many times can you usually clone a plant in this way and still have a quality plant?
Will the plant you leaf you cut continue to grow since it still has roots based in soil?
Yes
It definitely takes at least 6 weeks. Better to put it in soil and forget about it.
