And it’s a major part of Death Note. Kira empirically saved lives killing criminals (while he was doing it), but his criteria for criminals includes those that tried to stop him from “creating a peaceful world” and he cared not for the collateral damage he caused. The ends do not justify the means. Laws more often favor protecting the innocent over punishing the guilty because false positives are often more tragic than false negatives.
The moment Aqualad's DA status was revealed, a very obvious flag was raised in the narrative. I can't wait to see how these guys react to what happens next.
