    Mortar bed stringer course to plastic flexi channels and flag area at finish level….30 mm of screed not 50mm and allow 5 mm or so for compaction. For .50mm blocks you wanna screed at around 42to 45 mm. And dont notch out timbers. Srew 2 lathes or similar to either side of sreed timber…easy to adjust if needbe.l..screed tubes not box section…you can bend to suite if screeding undulating brows or dips….easy to straighten later aswell. Finally get a decent forward reverse diesel wacker. Plate wackers just vibrate surface.. you should be able to prsss those keykerbs ito some decent bedding mix. And you should have a keb race already in before finishing stoning up to put your kerb bedding gear on.. stringer course to drive threshold so cuts arent on outer extent of drive…. I only use 60 mm blocks for drives 50mm are only good for pedestrian applications

    Nice work buddy.
    Shoulda put a picture frame round it and calculated width so no little cuts needed, doesn't look right that.

    • @GreentopLandscapes

    Are those slabs you recently laid in the background while you're using the whacker? Might be a stupid question, but can the whacker effect the already laid slabs? Fantastic content by the way, and I mean all your videos... Thanks 👍🏼

    We are going to block pave our driveway in readiness for a 4 tonne motor home, would it be better to use a lean mix concrete as a sub base?

  • @MyCracker1234
    @MyCracker1234 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you vibrate the ground too much you risk bringing any water in the ground to the top even after a few dry days always keep that in mind, avoid vibrating any wet spots and remove them if possible.

  • @frannyjeffers6875

    Hi Johnny. You’ve used stone dust here whereas most use sharp sand. What’s the reasoning? I’ve had grano dust (1-6mm) for my fake lawn. Looks awfully similar in appearance and the way it moves on the shovel, bar being grey instead of red. I have 55m of block paving patio to do myself and I’m just watching videos to refresh the mind on levels and screeding before I get to it.

    • @GreentopLandscapes
      @GreentopLandscapes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Franny mate its just availability to be honest we dont have the sharp sand like they used to have years ago because they stopped dredging, and the stone dust does work well.

  • @focus3303
    @focus3303 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @anonymousanonymous5327

    Why do you measure the screed rail in 5 different places? your string line is straight, and the metal rail is straight, so you only need to measure at each end of the metal rail? if you start making adjustments in the middle, you'll throw out the first end you set up

    • @GreentopLandscapes
      @GreentopLandscapes  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the steel and the the length of the steel as it can flex in the middle, its abasaloutly reasonable to check for this reason, if you feel you dont need to thats fine. Thanks for your feedback.
