I really appreciate your videos. You are clear and concise. I have a metal Champion valve that is leaking and spraying a stream of water horizontally between the cap and the lower body. It is decades old but I was told metal valves can be repaired. Can you do a video about that?
I can appreciate your frustration, I don’t do any work on Brass valves here in Northern California. I used to rebuild them back in the day. The issue is that the sealing gasket has split between two housings.
Hello Sir Gary.. Congratulations on you 9k Subscriber... Though I don't understand much what this video for but I'm always here to support your channel.. always be safe and take care Sir.
When priming and gluing does it matter whether to apply glue first to fitting or pipe? Also for the glue do we need to dip in back in the can after applying it to the fitting and pipe?
hello sir. I just found your channel. I was wondering if you have had any trouble with some of the new plastic rainbird anti siphon valves leaking from the cap and cover seal?
I have a question, I have an 14 y/o system in my yard never used, but I tested them last year and 2 areas ran fine the other 2 had busted pipes. But now a year later when turning on the ones that worked before now have pressure surges really bad and won't actually deploy the heads, I can hear the pipes in the ground and the box is connected to the main before the house. The weird thing is, if I go relief the pressure from the closet bathtub or faucet, it stops and the heads pop up and starts working. I think it could be a high pressure problem, also the heads don't have check valves and my yard is on a 5 foot slope, I know this can put air the pipes and can do this.
@@garyssprinklerrepair Yeah, I'm on city, looks like simple pipe fixing isn't going to work :( probably either going to leave it or pay someone. I am going to get a pressure gauge to see what it is anyway though. Thank you for the reply.
Wow, 85 psi, 70 with tub running, with a 130 spike when shutoff should I install a regulator? I didn't see one nor any access to one in or near the main box, or should I call city?
I would call the city 1st, it’s free and they might be able to show you where a regulator is on your property as well as how your irrigation is plumbed off of it. I suspect you have one and it has likely failed, or the house would be fine and only the irrigation would be having the problem.
😊happy new year Gary thanks for dropping by really appreciate it if you ever want a view just give me a knock keep rocking and rolling good health buddy

You can order the rebuild kits on Amazon. Normally they are Champion valves.

Apply primer to the pipe and fitting, drain excess primer next apply glue, give it a quarter turn, hold for at least 30-60 seconds to avoid push back.
I also don’t re dip when applying the glue.
@@garyssprinklerrepair also does it matter whether to put primer and glue first to pipe or fitting?
Good tip thank you kindly for sharing .

Not sure what you mean by the cap? Do you mean the solenoid?

Sounds like a possible pressure regulator valve on the house or if you’re on a city water meter they might have a bad check valve in their meter.
