  • In this video I first show you every component of a 1” irritrol 2400 series valve by taking it apart and then putting it back together.
In the second half of this video I show you a real life example of how to clean out and rebuild a 1” irritrol 2400 series valve.

I was able to loosen the nuts with my hand.
Thanks for this helpful video. I really thought I was going to spend a day having to dig up the manifold and replace individual valves.

This is insanely useful. I wish I'd seen that instead of hiring some sketchy ass guy to replace all my valves. At least the valves are new, but a subset in their own box are misbehaving. This tells me the monkeying around with it didn't damage it. (The solenoids are in a box in the house. I gave up for the day when the sun went down, LOL)

Didn't once mention the black on off valve and what position it should be on.

Wow. By chance your video popped up. I've been looking for this system. Can you tell me what the "ON OFF" button is for and what it is used for? I think mine needs cleaned out and your easy instructions are fabulous! But wondering about the switch, it won't budge. Thanks

@@irrigationtipstricks7797 Ok.. Thank you. I wanted to manually bleed the valve in the event of some blockage. I have a couple of sprinkler heads seeping and wondered if that might be the issue. Since all the heads on that circuit aren't seeping, possibly it is just head issues, and not the valve at all.

thanks alot! perfect information on taking them apart and replacing the parts. so ive done this two times now and my valve is still leaking at the sprinkler! matter of fact if any other zone goes on this one just runs continuously! ive even disconnected all the wires to it and it still leaks and when any other zone goes on it comes on also!! im 100% positive its not electrical, becasue like i said i have disconnected all the two power lines going to the solenoid. i have replaced all the internal parts including the solenoid 2 times now, any advice would be great, thanks.

@@irrigationtipstricks7797 ok thank you sir i will try again, and believe this or not it is on the highest part of the our hill / lawn!!!!! like 30 feet higher than the lowest couple sets of valves! i have completely taken both wires off and all new guts in and when any other valve activates this one still goes off too! this system has been in place 9 years and never any problems till this year. we are on a well and have a seperate pump just for irrigation.

Do you have any idea where the divider can be purchased? And what is the most common cause of leaking after replacement of diaphragm and tighten in?

For anyone that may come across this:
      1. The housing (bottom) could be warped, you'll need to cut and glue on a new valve
      2. You still have debris in the valve
      3. Valve wasn't rebuilt correctly

I wonder how many people did this and lost the plunger with the non captured solenoids 😅😭

@@irrigationtipstricks7797 OH im well aware, I do irrigation out in the villages , FL. We're very high tech out in the new areas with maxicom and alot is moving to decoder based systems. Little flashbacks to equiptment like this reminds me of when I started doing this. Shit gets so much more complicated than the average Joe realizes. Like measuring plant transprecipitation properties during watering restrictions lol... gets fun as I'm sure you know.
