    Confused by some of the unusual words and phrases you've heard in shops or videos about the silver stacking hobby? In this video I'll run through a dozen of the most common but confusing words we use and I'll illustrate with interesting examples from my own deep stack--so even advanced stackers will see something interesting!
    I mentioned sites that I reference for precious metal pricing. You'll find a couple of them here:
    www.kitco.com/
    www.coinflatio...
    I mentioned the Stacking Mexican Silver video series, too. You'll find that series here:

    I was always wondering why isn’t there an institution that grades silver or gold bars? That’ll be awesome to have different vintage bars, slabbed and graded. Maybe I should open one up

    • @Dub-C_Coins
      @Dub-C_Coins  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've corresponded with NGC and asked them to begin grading vintage bars--I even offered the Lydia Hoard as a guinea pig. They were receptive to the idea but nothing so far. Which is odd--both PCGS and NGC have graded bars in certain circumstances. I have two unusual vintage silver bars that are graded by NGC.

    Do you know if American precious metals poured bars are vintage?

    • @Dub-C_Coins
      @Dub-C_Coins  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If that's APMEX (American Precious Metals Exchange), then not really. They were founded in 2000. So their poured bars would be considered "retro". I'd loosely define vintage bars as pre-1985. But others may not be so strict.

    • @rudyvelo4822
      @rudyvelo4822 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just stamped "American precious metals in (fancy cursive ) pure silver( in fancy cursive) .999 fine silver 25 troy ounces oz serial number 1558 and an A on the backside poured bathtub with knarly cooling canyon in the middle with four-sided teeth where a little inch long canyon formed

    • @Dub-C_Coins
      @Dub-C_Coins  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds really interesting! I just searched my regular resources and couldn't find a reference. Unfortunately with a name that uses so many commonly searched words, even combining "American Precious Metals" with Silver and/or Bar just leads to so many dead ends. I bet it's something special though.

    A 1/4 oz gold coin question, please. Presently my budget allows me to buy 1/4, oz's, I am aware of the premiums vs 1ozers, but I always see the 1/4oz gold British Tutor coins at $30+ lower than other 1/4ozers like AGE, Maple, Britannia, etc...I haven’t collected the quarter ounce gold tutor coins in the past, but they are at such a great price being a 1/4oz that it’s frustrating vs buying a more expensive 1/4 gold ones. In your opinion, would you buy these because of the lower price? And why or why not, thank you!!

    • @Dub-C_Coins
      @Dub-C_Coins  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Eli! I think you're asking about the British "Sovereign"? Made from 1817 up until today. You've asked a great and hotly-debated questions: Whether it's better to have modern, pure gold (.999) pure troy ounce fractions, or classic, vintage 90% Pre-1933 gold or those classic British sovereigns that are 91.67% pure. It's a great question. I have some of both, but I actually prefer the older pieces. Though I'm careful to buy only really nice examples. I talk about all of these in the Gold Rookie's First Purchase video series:

    hi w.c. can you tell me is a vintage onza considerd a round? what about modern libertads? thanks 🤔

    • @Dub-C_Coins
      @Dub-C_Coins  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great questions! No, the 1949 onzas and even those made from 1978-1980 are probably more correctly called "medals" or "medallions". Made by a sovereign country, but with no face value. Modern libertads are coins, and I'd be fine calling them coins or "NCLT"--non-circulating legal tender.
