The idea of uploading this video was to only inform the people how #volvo is as a brand. I could have uploaded this video on the day it was shot as well but I didn't only because I 'expected' volvo to take action. Although volvo admitted their mistake, they did nothing about it. I am really overwhelmed by the love and support I've received here through the comments.
I've filed a consumer complaint against Volvo today and I will update as and when there is one.

Ya police fir jaise kuch ho sakta hai kia ?? I mean ki agar ye situation kisi bhi ache luxury brand ke sath aisa hoto bande ko kiya karna chahiye refund ke liye ya car replacement ke liye

Tell me why Geely (a huge Chinese car manufacturer) bought Volvo in the first place. Why was it sold by Ford. Why was Volvo sold to Ford in the first place? It was because it was having poor sales. Why poor sales? Because people are not buying. Why were people not buying? Because of poor engineering, poor reliability and poor after sales. All the same things shown in this video.
And you are saying problems started after it was sold to Chinese 🤣.
Unreliability, poor engineering is a common problem in many European car companies for many decades. That's the very reason no one buys them, they have poor sales, and they are sold off. Just do a bit of research and see how many european companies have been sold off.

My girlfriend has spent over 8lks on various repairs on her 2016 V40 r design. I have had to pick her up multiple times after the car has left her stranded. It makes my Land Rover look reliable lol
Everything from turbo, catalytic converter to various engine components, suspension issues, hoses and pipes completely failed and the dealership could never even diagnose the problem properly. It always took, loading it up on a tow truck, taking it to 2-3 shops and getting multiple mechanics’s opinions to diagnose the real problem because the dealership would sometimes keep it for 2 months at a time and still not be able to let alone solve but even diagnose the problem.
Ultimately the engine completely failed at 60k kms. Apparently broken fragments from the turbo and / or catalytic converter went into the engine block (still not sure what killed it cause they could never diagnose it)
and she ended up selling it for a mere 4lks.
I feel like they’re great cars but they’re just not properly homologated for India and the dealers / mechanics are extremely poorly trained and lack the skill set required to work on them.

As i understand, the battery has been changed thrice, the reason for that is not mentioned in the video, but i take it that it was getting discharged in one or two days.
There can be 4 or 5 reasons for this and probably the service guys did not do a thorough diagnosis to find out the root cause.
As i see the situation, you can either go legal and wait for an year or two for the courts to decide. There is no gaurantee that the court will rule in your favour, as it is only the battery issue, and as per warranty terms, the dealer has replaced it, albiet thrice. So filing a case may or may not get you the desired result, plus it is time consuming.
Courts very rarely pass orders for refund or replacement by the manufacturer/dealer, unless there has been a very serious concern with a major assembly and it cannot be rectified. A battery problem is a minor concern.
Or you may try to further leverage social media to highlight your issue, but that also does not gaurantee a favorable result. At best you may succeed in defaming the company.
What further action you wish to initiate is your choice, I have tried to give you a balanced view on the probable outcomes.

File a consumer protection case with your State against speed volvo along with primary party as Volvo India, this case will earn you complete compensation of the vehicle along with interest and all the service costs. And additional compensation from Volvo India. This case clearly violates the conditions of the vehicle. The service center has made a mess of the vehicles integrity and it's operational capabilities. May be substandard parts, ECU messed up.

My friend also had horrible experience with his XC90. He gave it for a normal service checkup. They forgot to check engine oil or something. And after few months car stopped in middle of highway. Car was then towed to the service center. And they said that you didn't check oil or something on time that's why engine is locked and now you'll have to pay full amount for the new engine. They had to fight a lot with Volvo for this after which they agreed to do it without any extra cost. My friend has spent like 20Lakhs on just the maintenance of car over 9-10 year period. Which is crazy if you think about it.

Hi. I don’t know much about cars and multimeters but I have an idea for you to get this issue resolved:
    1. Open the car door and jam the door latch with some object so that the car thinks its door is locked. Then lock the car with ur fob and put it away.
    2. Open the fuse box and check every fuse with a multimeter after 15 mins or more after the car’s computer goes into sleep mode.
If your battery drained in about a day or two it would be much easier to find the source of the battery drain.
Again I know nothing about this stuff but I think you might want to take matters into ur own hands because they will not help you.
    I hope this helps❤

In Ahmedabad city, we have Volvo Autobots, a dealer of Volvo cars, which has a great routine. They do not have parts availability and always change parts from one car to another when you send for servicing. The availability of parts is worse in Volvo India. Better buy a BMW or Mercedes-Benz cars if you need a premium car.

Volvos biggest defect is volvo's safety tech. Because of the high sensitivity of the auto braking(which is clearly not tuned for Indian constitutions) you end up replacing the brakes very often. This even puts you at risk of getting rear ended. I suffered with a V90 for around 4 years before I sold it for the most pathetic resale value ever.

We were so happy with the service and their management as well... We found the service and car so good that we decided to get thr S60 CC as well in 2019.... Now in 2024... Apart from routine service and wear and tear aparts i haven't faced any issue... Both cars combined have completed 1.2 lakh kms....

Hi.. Battery leakage is a frustrating issue. But since the drainage is happening at such a high pace, there should be some earthing happening leading to current drain.
Battery replacement might not be an apt solution. Have them check the Electricals thoroughly. Just a thought, did you get an outside accessory installed recently? May be a dash cam? If yes, take it off line and try seeing if problem gets resolved.
Better to work with the workshop to find the root cause of the problem. Since car is registered and year old, neither the manufacturer or the dealer will give you replacement.
