Hey there, the lane keep assist feature might not be suitable for the typical road conditions in India. But I noticed something else - the deep battery discharge suggests that your car may have an earthing issue. This could be causing the battery to drain faster than it should, and the ECU might not be able to control it properly.
What is the exact problem? I am planning to take a Volvo Recharge. I remember my old car atleast 4-5 brake down after changing a new battery and lost my warranty card. Changed alternator, eventually all problems solved after using a Third New battery.
I booked a Volvo 60 few days back but after watching this thinking to withdraw my booking. Thanks for the information and reality check of volvo india.
All moter vehicle dealers in india are same. They sell their faulty vehicle to normal customer and good vehicle to VIP or relatives. They all aware about the condition of every vehicle they are selling.
Very good that you exposed on social platform. I faced very similar issues with AMP Motors (Jag XF) and Zenica (Audi A4). Wrote to top management to no avail. Sold both cars for pennies and got BMW which is much better (been 3 years). Hope you and your father end up with a great lux car. Best of luck.
As i understand, the battery has been changed thrice, the reason for that is not mentioned in the video, but i take it that it was getting discharged in one or two days. There can be 4 or 5 reasons for this and probably the service guys did not do a thorough diagnosis to find out the root cause. As i see the situation, you can either go legal and wait for an year or two for the courts to decide. There is no gaurantee that the court will rule in your favour, as it is only the battery issue, and as per warranty terms, the dealer has replaced it, albiet thrice. So filing a case may or may not get you the desired result, plus it is time consuming. Courts very rarely pass orders for refund or replacement by the manufacturer/dealer, unless there has been a very serious concern with a major assembly and it cannot be rectified. A battery problem is a minor concern. Or you may try to further leverage social media to highlight your issue, but that also does not gaurantee a favorable result. At best you may succeed in defaming the company. What further action you wish to initiate is your choice, I have tried to give you a balanced view on the probable outcomes.
File a consumer protection case with your State against speed volvo along with primary party as Volvo India, this case will earn you complete compensation of the vehicle along with interest and all the service costs. And additional compensation from Volvo India. This case clearly violates the conditions of the vehicle. The service center has made a mess of the vehicles integrity and it's operational capabilities. May be substandard parts, ECU messed up.
Why u people dont appoint A lawyer n put a case in consumer court with all proof. Volvo will give u a new car asap. And put everything in Inetrnational Volvo website n X handle also. Dont waste ur time recording video. Just put a case in Consumer court.
Even if he does that, the consumer court will ask the company to repair the vehicle. May be he is right in arguing but law will not support him in this case.
@@Curious9996 The vehicle owner should demand a compensation more than the price of the car, only then there will be a happy settlement. It the consumer's right.
@@kundanpatravali I’m happy if he gets the price of 2 cars as compensation. But whenever you buy a car/ machine the agreement you get into is, if there is any fault in the car the company will replace that part and if the consumer has gone through some inconvenience then they are bound by the law to compensate that and nothing more.
I was talking to a Driver and he rated Volvo as a very poor vehicle . His best car was a Mercedes . His BMW was very unreliable and had to be sold. He spoke most fondly of the Mercedes .
There must be something remaining on in the background even when the vehicle js turned off n locked. Thats what might be draining the battery. The need to find this cause. Theres no OBD code for that.
My friend also had horrible experience with his XC90. He gave it for a normal service checkup. They forgot to check engine oil or something. And after few months car stopped in middle of highway. Car was then towed to the service center. And they said that you didn't check oil or something on time that's why engine is locked and now you'll have to pay full amount for the new engine. They had to fight a lot with Volvo for this after which they agreed to do it without any extra cost. My friend has spent like 20Lakhs on just the maintenance of car over 9-10 year period. Which is crazy if you think about it.
20 lakhs for 9 to 10 years is a reasonable amount you you once look the mentainence cost of 1 German V8 or a Jaguar. Just 1 year service of Jaguar XF is 5 lakhs. So you would have to spent 45 to 50 lakhs on that car.
Hi. I don’t know much about cars and multimeters but I have an idea for you to get this issue resolved: 1. Open the car door and jam the door latch with some object so that the car thinks its door is locked. Then lock the car with ur fob and put it away. 2. Open the fuse box and check every fuse with a multimeter after 15 mins or more after the car’s computer goes into sleep mode. If your battery drained in about a day or two it would be much easier to find the source of the battery drain. Again I know nothing about this stuff but I think you might want to take matters into ur own hands because they will not help you. I hope this helps❤
In Ahmedabad city, we have Volvo Autobots, a dealer of Volvo cars, which has a great routine. They do not have parts availability and always change parts from one car to another when you send for servicing. The availability of parts is worse in Volvo India. Better buy a BMW or Mercedes-Benz cars if you need a premium car.
The only thing Volvo India does is replace the parts, for compound parts they will not replace damaged pieces in it but the entire part. So 2000 ka 80,000 me. And they make silly mistakes, which is unexpected from Volvo service staff.
I don’t why people in India are obsessed with these foreign luxury brand which don’t have any after sales service. The most they can do is change lube.
Hi, I was planning to book Volvo S90 soon and came across your video. Could you please kindly share any recent updates to this case? Any progress on your case or did Volvo India revert to it? Thanks.
What’s the point of admonishing the dealer ? The vehicle is defective and Volvo needs to foot the bill to replace the car. Failing which the dealer should refund you the purchase price claiming this from Volvo. Failing all that I hear OLX has decent classifieds for used cars.
Way of talking is really good and to the point - Thanks for filming such a good, calm and to the point video 😊. Ek bura laga - You spending money to get us learning about Volvo 😂😂😂
the real problem is not company it is government policies of GST/TAX/RTO. due to this most of the time company are not able to replace or refund. because ones billing is done and rto registration done. there is nothing like undo in the government system. i am not taking side of anyone. one of my dealer friend told me the real problem. many times company wanted to replace or refund but due to all this government policies it is next to impossible to support customer
Volvos biggest defect is volvo's safety tech. Because of the high sensitivity of the auto braking(which is clearly not tuned for Indian constitutions) you end up replacing the brakes very often. This even puts you at risk of getting rear ended. I suffered with a V90 for around 4 years before I sold it for the most pathetic resale value ever.

Hopefully things get sorted the right way... All this experience is from Martial Motors Bangalore...
This headache, this particular problem is something that our fathers don't want and that's why they choose maruti over anything. Other brands should learn this part from maruti !
It is sad that India doesn’t have lemon laws. A brand new car that breaks frequently should be a buy back from manufacturer or atleast replacement vehicle should be provided by manufacturer. Volvos have a high lemon rate in US even though most of their cars are made in Europe or US.
I faced similar issue with Ford dealer here, a few years back. Long story short, I had a friend in the service center - he called me one day and said, "bro come fast, ford-india-auditing team is coming for an inspection for 2 days , make some noise, thing will be fixed in no time..." 😀 Thanks to him, it worked
This is a revelation for people who think Volvo to be super great car company. Thanks for this disclosure. Hope consumer court addresses your concerns in time.
Na to apne time ki value hai na hi kisi aur ke time ki. Nobody takes any responsibility. And everyone has mastered the art of giving customers a runaround.
I had a Wagon R couple of years back.... some wiring issue ... Battery dains overnight... so we had to remove the battery's connection whenever we halt it for more than 6 hours... thats the solution we got from the service center 😅
It is simple, whether you buy expensive car or tv or fridge or mobile etc, as per law you can get it repaired. Even iPhone do not replace phones when we submit for repairs.
Most people confuse Volvo cars with Volvo busses and trucks. They are differently owned now. Volvo cars is now owned by a Chinese subsidary, hence all the discrepancies. Volvo trucks is owned by the OG swedish group, thus maintaining standards.
Hi.. Battery leakage is a frustrating issue. But since the drainage is happening at such a high pace, there should be some earthing happening leading to current drain. Battery replacement might not be an apt solution. Have them check the Electricals thoroughly. Just a thought, did you get an outside accessory installed recently? May be a dash cam? If yes, take it off line and try seeing if problem gets resolved. Better to work with the workshop to find the root cause of the problem. Since car is registered and year old, neither the manufacturer or the dealer will give you replacement.

Since consumers won’t associate luxury with a brand from the third world, they masquerade as European by showing they retained R&D at the company’s original home. But the parent company controls the money and are looking to make ROI.
It’s never good news when complex manufacturing setup trades hands.
@@kr63are u indian
@@gumz4183 fair points. I guess I agree to most extent. The manufactures however always seem to try to convince you otherwise though and sometimes you do get swayed lol
Why is Volvo India as a trusted car manufacturer is holding back itself. ???
Because it's not a trusted manufacturer lol😂
Thankyou for sharing.. not many people share there experience when shit goes down.. do make a video of what finally happened
Please do update how you proceed with the case, I hope everything works out in your favor soon.

Hey there, the lane keep assist feature might not be suitable for the typical road conditions in India. But I noticed something else - the deep battery discharge suggests that your car may have an earthing issue. This could be causing the battery to drain faster than it should, and the ECU might not be able to control it properly.
If ECU can't control it properly then how to PROPERLY solve earthing issue in Volvo?
What's the update brother? Any resolutions?
What is the exact problem?
I am planning to take a Volvo Recharge.
I remember my old car atleast 4-5 brake down after changing a new battery and lost my warranty card.
Changed alternator, eventually all problems solved after using a Third New battery.
I booked a Volvo 60 few days back but after watching this thinking to withdraw my booking. Thanks for the information and reality check of volvo india.
Somewhere battery getting grounded.. it might be some circuit issue
Kindly update, what happens.
Kindly explain what is the issue ?
Please share an update regarding the same .
@@Curious9996true that. Indian judiciary system is the worst in the world
@@Curious9996 The vehicle owner should demand a compensation more than the price of the car, only then there will be a happy settlement.

File a complaint and claim complete refund
Such a reputed brand with such bad after sales service.
I have been a volvo xc 90 user since 6 years. Covered 1.3 L KM. Had issue with many things. But got it covered under extended warranty
Hi. I don’t know much about cars and multimeters but I have an idea for you to get this issue resolved:
What was the issue in Car.. which model?
I don’t why people in India are obsessed with these foreign luxury brand which don’t have any after sales service. The most they can do is change lube.
It is really painful for any customer to buy a car and face such issues. Volvo must change the car and take full responsibility
Hi, I was planning to book Volvo S90 soon and came across your video. Could you please kindly share any recent updates to this case? Any progress on your case or did Volvo India revert to it? Thanks.
Hi. I’ve filed a consumer complaint. My car is still with Volvo since 26th March. Volvo has offered to pay me 20k
What’s the point of admonishing the dealer ? The vehicle is defective and Volvo needs to foot the bill to replace the car. Failing which the dealer should refund you the purchase price claiming this from Volvo. Failing all that I hear OLX has decent classifieds for used cars.
For 50Lakhs budget, VW Tiguan, Skoda and Tucson are better choices. All these three vehicles are highly reliable
If Tony Soprano was worked at Volvo
Way of talking is really good and to the point - Thanks for filming such a good, calm and to the point video 😊.
Ek bura laga - You spending money to get us learning about Volvo 😂😂😂
After vehicle registration there is nothing you can do. Only you can file a consumer court case which will run for years and years.
What happened with this finally ? Did the issue get permanently resolved ?
Not yet unfortunately. I’ve filed a consumer complaint against Volvo and Lucknow and Gurgaon dealership.

the real problem is not company it is government policies of GST/TAX/RTO. due to this most of the time company are not able to replace or refund. because ones billing is done and rto registration done. there is nothing like undo in the government system. i am not taking side of anyone. one of my dealer friend told me the real problem. many times company wanted to replace or refund but due to all this government policies it is next to impossible to support customer
Wake up guys ... What else u can expect from a Chinese company
Tata ka v wahi haal h... tera Indian brand ar worker khud compete ni kr skte chinese se
I am impressed by the way you dealt with him without losing your temper even once!!
Broo, in every brand particularly Top brands have these falws but, the brand value matters on how they care customer when these kind of failure they face. In every category this is common, but thing is how they satisfy customer with their service.
I was thinking of getting a XC90 for my wife. We're newly wed. We live in Texas. Now, I'm having second thoughts.
This is not expected from a premium brand like Volvo, paisa toh brand ke liye lete hai, phir bhi chalu product.
Conclusion kya nikla, kya refund hua?

Very good art of conversation, very well put. Hope you get justice soon.
Sir. I have no words. Legal suite is the only way forward I feel. But going through legal suite and will have tremendous pressure on you so I will pray to God to grant you good health and patience to get back hard earned money.
I'm not sure what happened in your case... Seems unfortunate... Our first Volvo was purchased in 2017 V40 CC apart from routine service we didn't face any issue at all... We were so happy with the service and their management as well... We found the service and car so good that we decided to get thr S60 CC as well in 2019.... Now in 2024... Apart from routine service and wear and tear aparts i haven't faced any issue... Both cars combined have completed 1.2 lakh kms....
Its really unfortunate this issue has happened in ur case...
File a Consumer case. You have a good case. There are several case laws that will support your contention
The only solution for such things is that the upgradation of laws against such automobile manufacturers
Sad!! Volvo lost its glory after Geely.
Service centre should be Company owned.
Cancelling my booking after watching this dont want to deal with this type of people...
Never a volvo, never skoda, that's my personal experience
Also no tata Mahindra 😅😅
Thanks for giving this information, Even I am planning to buy Volvo in my family, but your video is Eye opener to us
I had a Wagon R couple of years back.... some wiring issue ... Battery dains overnight... so we had to remove the battery's connection whenever we halt it for more than 6 hours... thats the solution we got from the service center 😅
Just write to the company, tag the CEO. Mostly in India these people are not trained enough to fix anything.
It is simple, whether you buy expensive car or tv or fridge or mobile etc, as per law you can get it repaired. Even iPhone do not replace phones when we submit for repairs.
Sir kya raha results fir ? Pls explain or make next video
They have checked everything and have not been able to find the fault so they have changed the battery. My car has NO accessories installed.
What is the current status ?
