Agree….the cost of housing and rentals is ridiculous. The “living” wage is a joke. You will be working several jobs just to rent if you can afford to do that. If you are loaded, you will be fine. It sucks
We moved from Kalispell to an outer town. Kalispell is no longer our home. People from other states have moved here saying, "there is so much space!". Yeah, there isn't anymore. All that has been brought is big box stores paying minimum wage. Our land raped and pillaged for the use of subdivided living. The traffic horrendous, cost of living is high compared to wages, crime is high, and the way of life that we enjoyed is now gone. It doesnt feel like home anymore. I was just at Costco the other day. EVERY space was filled. It was awful!
People didn't flock north to go to Edgerton and Glacier. That's where the newest developments just happen to be. There are five other elementary schools.
I could see the locals being annoyed by some of the growth but come on ..... there's plenty of room for people to come and live a wonderful life. Native NYer here 😎. You may see me soon 😊
See there is "room". But the real problem is most of the people moving to Montana have been near mentally handicapped and bought houses for nearly 10 times what they are actually worth and what they could have gotten. So yeah..

It’s all former farmland where they are building these homes and apartments, no mature trees yet.
It's a mountain valley...there is open fields... natural meadows..that are quickly being filled with subdivisions!

Personally I don't like the bypass. Was much more beautiful in 1999 before everyone started moving there.

I think this going on everywhere...sucks, I'm trying to get away from my hometown because of this same stuff...
