Ok... I'll never not cry about this... The ones listed was the "hardships" that were "big" and made an impact but I can't forget the "small" ones. I'll always remember the members saying sorry to us ARMY's during their earlier eras because they saw us struggling with them and we all promised that one day there will be a time where we won't be "ashamed" "silent" "embarrassed" and "hurt" while saying "I am a BTS Fan, I'm an ARMY." I have a few friends that worked on the White Paper project, and what they remember about the whole thing, was how messy the whole process was, lmao. And it ended up being discussed on Korean TV later. White Paper project still exists though, it's documentation for future army to understand what happened that year. That was actually a scary time for all ARMY because a prominent Jewish community condemned BTS after the Japanese Right Wing started this campaign against them, saying that they praised the atomic bombings. I never in my life thought a Jewish community would align with the Japanese right wing... the heck. Made no sense, and they were misconstruing the entire thing to twist it to their agenda.
Hi Lala :) Welcome to the rabbit hole. With BTS you not only get great music, great funny moments in their variety show and amazing eye candy, you also get ARMY, an overall amazing fandom, spanning from teens to grandmas :)
I love how supportive Lala has been this whole time and how we are getting to watch her journey now as well. Everything is so genuine on this channel. All of our journeys are so different and on our own timespans. And her watching this video was so important because it helps her understand the background of BTS, even though it was a sad topic. You two are SO likeable and real. Legit this has become one of my favorite youtube channels overall and definitely my favorite BTS reaction channel. Borahae to both of you! You nice, keep going!
Thank you Josh and Lala for your sincere intention in diving deeper into BTS. It's so heartwarming to see Lala join you in your reinvented channel. I'm loving everything that you & Lala and Lucas are doing. Borahae 💜.
Oof! I'm here quick! And emotional already from seeing your "How BTS changed me FOREVER" video! Time to cry a little bit more I guess!! I'm so happy to see Lala (hehe so cute!) being interested in them to the point where she is researching on her own! BTS' journey was certainly NOT an easy one, and as ARMY it's been difficult to see them go through these hardships and experience the hatred they as a group and individuals (because there are solo fans and member antis out there who are just as vile as group antis) garner without any reason at all. It's important as a fan to know and learn the group's history, even when that history is hard to see and kind of depressing. But you will see how that knowledge just makes you grow fonder of them and appreciate them even more! I think Lauren would really enjoy their 2015 and onwards music, and if she wants to have a really good time, BTS' series like In The Soop, Bon Voyage and Run BTS would be amazing! I think you guys would love to see them as a family and make a date out of it!
I think Lauren needs to see more music videos and performances to be able to fall in love more with the music to feel more invested. Maybe some more upbeat songs they have and mama 2019 performance?
Welcome to the rabbithole, Lauren!! It so often starts with just wanting to know their names, and then their personalities pull you in. I think you would love Run BTS. It's just them being themselves, and they are hilarious. It's quite the antidote to the sad parts of their story.
Ooh, sounds like at some point your roles will switch and Lala will be introducing the newer songs from her driving playlists for you to react to, Josh!
It’s crazy how they blacklist awards shows themselves when they been wronged because they know now they don’t needs award shows but the shows needs them for views.
Hi Lauren and Lala, great to know that you’ve come this far to know about BTS and the journey of their music.I’m 64 years old army who has admired BTS since 6 years ago. They’re young but they’re hardworking people, kind and humble. They’re inspiring other people through their music, messages, struggles, hardwork and Army appreciate to what they’ve done. I’m proud of them.
No other kpop group will have to go through the level of racism that BTS has to endure, because they are breaking the barriers...sure others will have to deal with racism, but it will not be to the same degree, thanks to BTS.
But everyone has hardships, I don't think we should compare people's hardships with others, just because other Kpop groups might not have to deal with the amount of hardships BTS have to deal with doesn't make it any better, at the end of the day hate is hate, and racism is racism even if you only encounter it once, it's a horrible feeling to have to go through, it doesn't matter how many times someone experiences hate, some people become depressed and even try to k*ll thems*lves just from ONE encounter of hate. Racism is Racism and no matter how many times you expiernce it, it will hurt the same. And you can't say when it comes to racism other Kpop idols will have it different and they won't expiernce as much as BTS have, because America is freaking brutal especially since the pandemic erupted, there are so many Anti-Asian attacks and racist remarks targeted towards Asians. We shouldn't try to compare and make this a competition of "Who had it worse". There's been Idols who have been assaulted, there's been Idols who've commited s*ic*de. And so on and so forth, we shouldn't compare peoples struggles and say somebody has had it worse than others, because at the end of the day you don't know what anybody is going through, sorry for the long comment :) Borahae
Some songs of them show why BTS and ARMY are so affectionate. MOVE, SEA are songs about themselves having a hard time(As you know, BTS is from a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom.), and 2!3! is a song to comfort ARMY who have struggled and been hurt to protect BTS. And Magic Shop, Make it right, We are Bulletproof : the Eternal are songs that expresses gratitude for the fans who have protected BTS and grown up together.

"I'm trying to remember their names" - Lala, I have to inform you there's no return from the fall down the rabbit hole at this point. It's how it starts, you try to know their names and suddenly you're in love and there's no way back 😅 (it took me three months to learn this first step because I'm slow, take your time!) Can I suggest again a funny reaction with Lala? I have the feeling she'd love the funny/goofy/cute/chaotic side of them! It can be any compilation.
Could you try doing album reactions? BTS have so many “no skip song” albums, and they are so well done. Each album is like a story and has a continuous message from start to finish.
You both are so cutteeeee.... I became an ARMY since oct 2020. This is my 4th or 5th time watching this same hardships video but still i am crying, my tears won't stop even though i am wiping it continuously. I am so thankful to the ARMYs who were there with them from beginning and shared that pain. I feel so bad that I became an ARMY when they became successful, I wanted to be there with them from beginning to share the pain and difficulties, not physically but by supporting them. But now when i am an ARMY, i will support them till eternity, I Love them, I Purple them. And I PURPLE YOU BOTH
About the music one prefers... I am NOT a fan of rap nor hip hop. But, I've got to say I listen to it by BTS as their skills, the lyrics and the production value of their content is SOOOOO high that it is easy to appreciate even what I thought I wouldn't. I have 땡 as ringtone on my phone and 뱁새 as alarm. Oh, and I'm 50+....😉
my mom is the same way she has always hated rap. BTS has helped her discover that she hates "western" rap. She loves the rap line and constantly tells me she is going to put Yoongi in her pocket and take him home to feed and spoil rotten.
the MBC issue still cracks me up, lmao MBC Producer heard that BTS declined to attend their New years broadcast because they had a prior schedule in Times Square..so the MBC Producer thinks they are going to a local Mall in South Korea (named Times Square mall) to perform instead. LMAO. Man looked like an idiot when people finally corrected him, and told him it was the big New Years Rockin' Eve Show in New York. So then the MBC Producer felt butthurt cause he made a fool of himself. So he bans BTS from ever appearing on MBC again. And on top of that, Bans all other groups under Bighit. ... Way to show them, lmao. Bighit just made their own New years show the following year, and broadcast that live on another network instead. MBC still butthurt to this day.
Not all interviewers are being cordial though, despite their current status. Even since this video was made in the summer of 2021 there have been several incidents.
It never stops being sad, even after watching the hardships videos MANY times with reactors watching it, but it's worth it; it's an important rite of passage for ARMY to know of the boys struggles. I fully one hundred percent believe that if that information wasn't shared as it was (and is) - that the relationship between ARMY and BTS would never have been as strong as it is and in turn BTS likely wouldn't have ever succeeded to the extent they have.
The clip of the lady talking about BTS is actually a really interesting video on its own. She did write a paper on them and actually has spoken in a "conference" type setting about the group as a whole and the great things they have done for S. Korea. I'm not saying you should watch it on your channel bc you do have so much to do but I would suggest watching on your down time if you get a chance.
Well, I liked that! but then, I am very familiar with this story. And wish it could actually show slightly more detail, actually. Some of that detail in fact shows BTS' nature very strongly but with a light hand. For example, you may come across pictures of Jin and Jimin, either alone or together, with dark hair styled in the same way, wearing a blue jumper and dark trousers. These are from the occasion when Jmiin received the death threats and Jin decided he would dress in the same way. To confuse the killer, people, though they never made that explicit. I mean ... LaLa, you have come to the right place.
And don’t get me started on the blinks- well, some of them. They even go as far as on new BTS comebacks, they make fake profiles and give out the wrong rules for streaming. They pretend to be ARMY, and tell ARMY to post the streaming instructions on all BTS posts and sites, knowing all these people will be doing it wrong and their views will be deleted. That is why we lost 50 million views on Dynamite or Butter. I forget which now.
To give you a quick rundown on the enlistment thing. Every Korean man has to serve by the time they are 28. A senator in the govt in 2017 brought up delay or exemption for BTS. They got a lot of flack for that even though it wasn't their doing. The senator actually spoke up and said it was all his idea because he thinks it's a valid conversation to have. A few years later the govt asked for some input on why should kpop artists be considered for a delay/exemption and many of the big companies went. BigHit didn't attend but the other companies used BTS as the example of why ANY kpop artist should have a chance at delaying. This part is my opinion: I think the reason the govt made the rule the way they did was based in schadenfreude. The rule they came up with is you can delay your service to age 30 if you have been nominated or won one of the govt cultural merit awards. BTS is the ONLY kpop group to win the cultural merit award and the issue with receiving the award is a qualification for the award is you be in entertainment for at least 10 yrs. For most kpop artists 10 yrs is past when they reach 28 so they would have already served. BTS was the only exception. That's why IMO the govt did it on purpose, they saw all these companies sitting in front of them using one group who sent NO REPRESENTATIVES as the reason ALL should have the delay. The companies and the KOMCA filed a petition saying it's unfair and it is to be honest since no other kpop group could even consider making that exception. But so far the rule still stands and this year all of the guys applied for their delay cause Jin is reaching deadline this yr. The govt is continuing to talk about it but they have recently postponed a vote so the full review and decision is still a ways off. ARMY if I missed something add it on.
just one correction BTS is not the only male kpop act to receive a cultural merit award, in the same ceremony that BTS received the award of Cultural Merit, and Red Velvet , a girl kop act received the Culture Minister’s Award.
@@anaclgarcez Okay thank you but actually BTS and Red Velvet received different awards it just happened at the same ceremony. Red Velvet were the winners of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Commendations. BTS won Hwagwan Orders of Cultural Merit. Even though red velvet has nothing to do with the information I was imparting. They aren't a part of the conversation here.
@@ebony7177 I know it is different awards, I said in my comment but both qualify for the military postponement, if they were boys they would be able to postpone their enlistment... I am not trying to take anything away from BTS, I don't even listen to Red Velvet...
@@ebony7177 I am sorry if you took it the wrong way, I swear don't listen to any other Korean artist, but BTS. (even tho I am thinking about expanding my knowledge on Korean music, I just don't have time, because I am obsessed with Thai dramas, and their OST are amazing) It's just that BTS and Red Velvet are both kpop, so BTS is not the only one with a cultural award even tho they are different... I just wanted to add to the discussion because, you know, it is not so impossible for a kpop group to be the recipient of this type of honor, since there are two acts that paved the way for other groups to dream of this achievement. But your original point that it is super rare that a group will last long enough in the industry makes a lot of sense.

You guys are amazing. I watch very few reactors because somehow I can sense who are fake and you’re not one of them. Your channel is my go to channel for reaction videos now.
So many reactors react to BTS I feel just for clicks and its easy to tell when that’s the case. Thank you for not using BTS that way and I am loving your journey. Borahae
This video shows how Bighit and BTS responds to shows that wrong them. They stop appearing on their shows. It is proof to those ARMYS and reactors that if BTS or their company was upset with James Corden you can be guaranteed that they would not appear on his show again. It is about time those ridiculous people stop their delusional hate. James Cordon did nothing to insult BTS or the ARMY. PERIOD.
@GidKidDAD again I'm going to post my thoughts on the so called "misogynistic lyrics" where RM and BigHit had to apologize... When in the last 20 years has ANY U.S. rapper apologized and reached out to feminist groups and cleaned up their misogynistic lyrics that are absolutely disgusting in how they defame women and girls? When? NOT ONCE. Instead, say something about the lyrics to a U.S. rapper and they'll curse you to hell for questioning their lyrics - and it's because they are in it for the quick money gain. They're not true artists. True artists know how to story tell without defaming their mother, sister, daughter, girlfriend, wife. They're hacks pretending to be artists. AND YET, RM, who has a conscience and IS AN ARTIST, had to put up with a whole ton of BS for lyrics that ARE INNOCENT in comparison. Pisses me off every time.

BTS Universe armys are the best ever!!! 💜🤣
Lol, "...on my abacus." I 💜 @GidKidDad
@@anaclgarcez nice! I didn't know that!
(even tho I am thinking about expanding my knowledge on Korean music, I just don't have time, because I am obsessed with Thai dramas, and their OST are amazing)
It's just that BTS and Red Velvet are both kpop, so BTS is not the only one with a cultural award even tho they are different... I just wanted to add to the discussion because, you know, it is not so impossible for a kpop group to be the recipient of this type of honor, since there are two acts that paved the way for other groups to dream of this achievement. But your original point that it is super rare that a group will last long enough in the industry makes a lot of sense.
I love how you get everyone to sing the intro. Gah, I love your channel so much. I keep saying it I just feel so cozy here. Haven’t watched the reaction yet because I’m watching bits and pieces in between appointments. 😅💜

Hi LaLa 🙂 you guys are just the cutest! Borahae 💜💜💜
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. I love Rosan @xCeleste vids. She is a 2014 Army so she knows a lot. This one was very informative for me on 1st watch. What an amazing duo 🥺💜
I will forever say 2016 was my darkest year as ARMY. The hate was unreal….especially on social media
Please watch BTS rewind 2021 from XCELESTE also
You guys are amazing.
Borahae
I purple u😍💜💜
Borahe😍😍that was so sweet
I love BTS so much💜💜💜
A blessed day to all of us, welcome Lala to the ARMY. Good to see you enjoying the reaction to BTS video💜💜💜💜.
Korean fan wars are just plain savage.
💜💜💜
Hey Lala💜😍
💥💥
You both are so cute. Thnks
Do bts in the soop moments to lighten up her mood. It will make her smile
Borahae 💜
oh no, you gonna show her the sad stuff
This video shows how Bighit and BTS responds to shows that wrong them. They stop appearing on their shows. It is proof to those ARMYS and reactors that if BTS or their company was upset with James Corden you can be guaranteed that they would not appear on his show again. It is about time those ridiculous people stop their delusional hate. James Cordon did nothing to insult BTS or the ARMY. PERIOD.
💜💜
I really enjoy seeing your wife!
Also this hardships video was almost a toned down version of things
