Ahhh, the speakers were in the exit from the arena. That explain why so many horses were having problems there. And that stupid early morning sun in your eyes was certainly a tough element to work around. I was worried about the footing for Lee after all the rain on Thursday, but it seemed good. Maybe being second to go on fresh ground helped Lee. Either way, GREAT JOB!!
Lee is easily my favorite horse you ride. He is excellent at dressage, fantabulous at show jumping, and extraordinary at cross country. I could watch these GoPros of him all day. When he retires, it will be a bitter sweet moment because he deserves it but will be so sad to not watch him do his job superbly. Right now he’s got a lot to live and do so I don’t expect that to happen too soon. Handsome horse you got there.
What a great ride. He looked super. Even in the ring . He trusted you. It took a second but he trusted you. What a run. What a great job he did. I watched it on the big screen TV. You both are in pretty great shape to ride like that. Kudos to the 2 of you for a job well done. I see why it takes them so long to get in shape for this run. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
Go Lee! 🎉
I was there!!! I'm so glad I got to watch you! I'm sad I didn't get to see Lee. You were awesome
He looked so eager for his job. Good boy Lee!
Yeah Leroy!! Well sat in the ring. That exit was super spooky, hopefully the organisers took notes for next year lol
Running 2 horses and a 1st place! What a weekend in Maryland for Elisa and her team! :-)
wow he really took you to the fences again. Eager and capable. Still has his eyes and ears on overtime but a different horse to watch. Such a scopey boy.
He was on his toes for sure!! When you clipped the fence with your boot twice, I flashed back to Munson when he almost scewered himself with the fencing, and you saying, Not that close!! Made me giggle a bit. But great ride. And good job on staying aboard when he spooked at those dang speakers in the arena and he deaked left so hard! Great ride Elisa Wallace Eventing!! You had so much horse at the end, it shows how well your fitness program is working even though you don't have the hills to work with anymore. Well done!! And I'm sure you weren't that far off the time either with Lee, even with that circle. Best Regards from a Retired Paramedic, a S&R Dog and Handler Team Trainer and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖🇨🇦🇺🇸
So full of running even at the end - great job on the fitness campaign! He really had everything under control (except the spook - I thought it was the screaming fans in the corner, just as he got there!) and looks to be back to his best. Great ride...
ELISA WHEN YOU TELL LET IT BE LEE GET ON HE DOES 110 % AND U ALSO GIVE HIM YOUR LOVE AND FORGIVENESS HE HAS SO MUCH SCOPE AND DEPTH AND HEART GO TEAM ELISA ♥️ 💙 🐎 🐴
Wow! I am so glad you have the camera as we can all see the ride like you! He looks amazing out there, and he gets the most beautiful horse on the course award from this fan 😍🏇Such a stunning boy! Great job as always with your 2 boys!!
Wow wow wow!! Great ride!! This is so amazing. Wish I were there!! Big hugs Meghan, these horses look fabulous. Good job to the entire team!! Safe rides always.🤗
Sharp and elisa also another great team but you and Lee have a bond go team ELISA simply the best
That was by far the strangest Cross Country course I have ever seen you ride. Congratulations to you & Lee both! He did a great job keeping himself together considering how disjointed the course was!
Let it be LEE is my favorite you make a great solid team and make a hood show of it all in 100 %he flicks his ear back listening to you ✝️
Looking good Elisa and Lee lee, ride on!
NOW we know why he ran overtime. Puzzled watching the livestream 'cause Lee was going sooo well everytime they showed you, but they didn't catch you in the ring. Great beautiful go otherwise!! You gave your partners perfect rides all weekend!! Congratulations!
Congrats you are both spot on no time faults way to ride on as one
I love shapie but Lee is my favorite you and Lee are the simply the best solid gold go team Elisa 💛
5 star!! Eeep!! Scary fences!! Amazing ride ❤
This s the 3star so a little smaller than the 5. The 3star is run in conjunction with the 5 star
I attended the Maryland5Star as my first ever eventing cross country and really enjoyed watching you and Caz’s warmup and round! Congratulations on a terrific win. A real thrill for this non-rider to watch, learn, and enjoy the sport in person.
Phenomenal ride! Wow! So exciting to watch- I'm out of breath!
Another awesome run on this challenging XC course! Lee & Elisa made it look so eazy peazy 🏇
Great run, that arena was a safety hazard with the speakers blaring. I thought XC was supposed to simulate fox hunting---now where out in the countryside do you run across an arena with blaring speakers in your face? Silly idea. You two were a great team & crazy fun to watch.
XC isn't supposed to simulate fox hunting - three-day eventing has developed from cavalry testing. Dressage tested obedience and training, cross country (which obviously used to be more strenuous with the roads and tracks and steeplechase) tested speed and endurance and jumping, and then showjumping on the final day tested that horses were still fit and sound after the day before.
So if you think about it that way, then the speakers would have been a great test for a cavalry horse's braveness, but for modern competition? Pretty shocking placement and the event organisers should definitely have thought better of it.
it feels exactly like I was sitting and riding the horse. how nice he is. thanks for the movie.
Whooooo, look at him GO!
yew! great ride to the both of yous 🎉
Go Lee, I was excited to see how he’s been doing. He didn’t disappoint. Nice ride team Lee. Those skinnies made me hold my breath 😂💜
Great ride! I was there!
That was a spooky course! Good job staying with him... another thrilling ride.

Fabulous team!
He got his MojO back, and doing that run last week helped, that was a big tough course, BravO Little Man, so much Love for his big heart and caring rider

Love you soooooo much!!! And Lee's my favourite horse!!!❤ Also what happened to Johnny???!!!!!🤔
He retired is 2021. He’s 21 years old now.
Cool
You are an Exceptional XC rider...
The Hills on that course are absolutely relentless. It’s a credit to you to have to feed horses that could do it.
So cool! Thanks for sharing :)
Seemed like a really great galloping course!
What a good boy! speakers aside, he was great.
I was just there and saw you!
Sorry ELISA I MENT YOU AND LEE MAKE A GOOD SHOW OF IT AND IT PAYS OFF YPUR THE BEST TEAM
Good job Leroy and Elisa. I didn't like that arena either!
How long ago was this? If it is Maryland I was expecting to see fall colors in the leaves.
This weekend - XC was yesterday (Saturday, Oct 15). I agree, still rather green there!
Those were some serious galloping stretches.
So, did you go out number 2? Before you could get any feedback on how the course was riding? Way to go the pair of you 👍🏼👏🏼
Great thumbnail!! (Also, thanks for posting…)
Love watching this horse dial down on his next fence-his ears are so expressive-you can almost hear him muttering “which one, which one? That one? Oh, THAT one-right, let’s go.” Loves the jumping part of his job! Loves it.
Lovely round, such a shame about that spook
2 min fa ye🎉😊❤🐴
the gas pedal on Leroy is out of control!
🤩😍💐💐💐💐💐
🐎🤗🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Such a shame about the spook. He had a great run otherwise!
Lee calls his publicist..."Look, she tells me to whoa, then go on with it, then she says steady. By the way, she calls me Leroy now. Did you hear that? Listen up, the sun is in my eyes. I can't see those damn white ties. What? No, you listen to me. It's what I pay you for, isn't it? Get rid of the crab monster. I'm NOT going out there again until it's gone. You heard me. Yesterday, I stayed calm, relaxed, and collected throughout the dressage competition. Is it my fault I was born to run? Is it? If I wanna stretch my legs out there, I'm gonna do it. Those jumps are nothing to me and my long manly legs--One more time, get rid of the crab monster--Slow, fast, I'm running the course my way. I don't have to listen to her all the time. I know what I'm capable of. I know how strong I am. My muscles rippling in the sunlight is what brings the girls to the show. Am I right? I know I'm right. Get rid of the crab monster, or you're fired."
That looks so scary

First
Absolutely phenomenal to experience the ride with u. I took each fence with you on my couch and worked up a sweat too.
Tremendous athletes; Both of u. Who came up with wacko stadium addition and senseless speaker distraction?
U r the best.Marcie
Back in the old days our trainer and groom would stand on either side of a warm up jump and hold a bamboo cane and as the horse jumped they would bring the pole up and bump the horses front legs. Not hard. The horses rarely touched a jump. Made them clear them a little higher. It might be considered terrible now but it was what they did on occasion. This was 50 years ago!
It's illegal now
It’s illegal and called rapping. The only thing it does is make the horse not trust his judgment
