Orbit Culture is absolutely killing it everywhere. Niklas mixes and masters all of their own stuff, and it's done better than some professional studios. No one can deny that Baby Hetfield ain't baby Hetfield anymore. They have come into their own and I'm super excited to see what's next. 🖤🤘🏻

Love the new KoRn album, probably my favorite since Head's return. Different, definitely. But surprising (that Type O Negative vibes on Let The Dark Do The Rest) and very impressive. Short, 9 songs. But all incredibles.

Huge bummer that Swallow The Sun was claimed, one of my all-time favorite bands. Insanely underrated! For example, who releases a triple album (Swallow the sun did...)?! One pure doom, one melodic doom and one with just clean vocals.

I started on saxophone in school (it was a military boarding school), in the marching band and orchestra. It felt like a natural progression, there's more sonic relativity between the two instruments than you might first think.

Nu-Metal was the last rock n' roll movement to top the charts. In a time where bubblegum pop music/boy bands was all over the place. Sevendust, Incubus, Soulfly, Snot, P.O.D., Nonpoint, Mudvayne, Staind, Godsmack, Static-X, Chimaira, Taproot, Ill Nino, Coal Chamber, and Cold were also amazing bands out of that era. I wasn't a big Coal Chamber fan, but I did like some of their songs, and I did like the Dark Days and Rivals records. I just felt like they were kind of cheesy, and they sounded too much like White Zombie, Korn, and the Deftones when they came out. Sevendust was one of the best to come out of that era (and still going strong). They are the most underrated band that deserves alot more respect and recognition than they deserve.
You are right, but it wasn't the last. Alternative rock had a huge swing in the late 90's to late 2000s. Bands like Anberlin, Fair to Midland, Foo Fighters, among others.

Foo Fighters were still waving the flag and carrying the torch of the alternative rock/grunge sound in an era where Nu-Metal was on the come up and Marylin Manson was blowing up when alternative rock and grunge was dying. Gotta give it to Dave Grohl. Stepping out of Kurt's shadow and coming into the forefront was a huge challenge. I have the upmost respect for that man.
