I put a stock jeep 6 rip pulley on my buggy, and the problem was solved. I also think the steel grabs better than aluminum. My intermittent belt squeal went away too.
I have very similar belt issue intrested to see your fix. Also my air filter was routed in cab, was very loud, more so with the 1.6 upgraded motor. move it out of the cab and became much more enjoyable in Cab.
@@nbk9nbk1 my car is so loud due to it basically being a buggy that I don’t even notice the air filter noise. lol. I’ll do a video when I fix the belt issue.
Hi there. I was hoping you could give me a bit of help with my own sami build. The environment i drive it in is primarily mud, with some losse-ish hills and off-camber stuff, basically dry-ish river beds. I live in swamp lowlands so all the off-road stuff here is very slippy. Unlike most people that seem to mod samis, im looking in to keeping my cg as low as possible since i have to deal with a lot of side angle in my trail driving. Im also not interested in stretching the wheelbase significantly or cutting the front grill for wheel travel. I want to keep an oem+ vibe to the car. Another limitation is keeping the wheels under the fenders (I do have ~2" overfenders) since having open wheels for mudding is not a good idea lol. The plan is to go with a custom yj conversion, with 0 stretch in the back and some stretch in the front to help clear the wheel well. How much stretch do you think id need up front for maximum clearance with out having to cut the front end off or messing with the fender look? Do you think 32 or 33" wheels are possible within those constraints or is sticking with 31's more reasonable?
@@Kerman_von_Braun if you are staying springs under the axle, 33s will be very tight and probably rub. Front stretch with a low ride height is limited by pitman arm to tie rod clearance. As the axle is pushed forward the tie rod goes under the pitman arm and will hit with up travel. With that low ride height I think 31s might be the best option. I had yls under mine spring under at one point and I had 30 inch tires, I just can’t imagine that 33s would clear.
@@ultra4suzukisamurai679 Appreicate the response :) Im not necessarily against going spring over, but i feel like going spring over with YJ's would give me more lift then id actually need (around 6.5" i believe? ~4.5 from SOA and ~2 from stock yj's). I recon that, if i stay spring under, YJ's would give me around 2", and i could get an extra ~1" from a longer shackle. Oh dam, i never considered the pitman, thats a really good point. The tires im looking to get also come in a 32x10.5 size (CST CL18/CL28), so thats also an option, tho i would need to swap to r16 from r15.
